Bite Me 🧛‍♂️🩸✨ARC

Welcome back to Doxlothia University!

Guess what? We’ve got a vampire in our midst... and he’s a culinary prodigy in the making. But what happens when he finds his scent match? He becomes ridiculously overprotective, and in an attempt to keep her safe, decides the best course of action is to become the biggest jerk imaginable; even if it means standing in the way of her joining the culinary club.

S.L. Cokeley is the first author in a long time whose paranormal universe has me completely hooked. Vampires and werewolves? Say less. 🐺🧛‍♂️ I’m beyond obsessed with this world and its characters. And honestly... who isn’t a sucker for fated mates? Thank you so much for providing me with this ARC! 🥹

“𝘙𝘶𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘦.”

Ahhh, here I am diving straight into Book 2 after immediately falling head over heels for Parker and Olivia.

This time, we follow Emma and Dacre. At first, I was a little confused as to why Dacre went to such lengths to make Emma hate him, but once their relationship began to unfold, it all started to make sense. Watching him slowly lose the battle against their scent match was everything 👀

Emma is such a lovable character: full of life, glitter, and so much heart ✨ I especially loved the cooking scenes. Knowing that cooking is the one thing that keeps her connected to her mother made those moments feel even more meaningful.

Then there’s Dacre: rich, grumpy, and hilariously petty (especially when it comes to Parker 😂). Beneath all of that, though, he’s someone whose only goal is to protect the people he loves. Even while refusing to let Emma join the club, he still does everything he can to keep her close and safe.

Their moments together were so wholesome. Bonding over their love of cooking, sharing memories of their mothers, and just... understanding each other in a way no one else could.

And if I’m remembering correctly... there’s a scene where Dacre cooks for Emma.

He. Cooks. For. Her.

I swooned. 😭❤️

So yes, if you're looking for a book with vampires, fated mates, and a man who can cook... this is 100% the book for you.

TENSION !!!

That is what this book had. That tension of denying yourself something you crave. The tension of pushing the limits and seeing how far you can go right before giving in to the temptaion.
If you are a fan of that hating that I want you so bad trope. This is the read for you.

Being scent matched to Emma Osborne is the last thing Dacre Everhart needed. Life for Dacre was going exactly as his grandfather planned it out for him. As a trust fund vampire attending Doxlothia University and head of an elite culinary club... what can go wrong?

Emma Osborne was born with determination. Tragedy hit her family hard. Everyone dealt with loss differently. Emma was one to shine and light up everyones darkness, one sparkily starred pancake at a time. Being accepted at Doxlothia's elite culinary club was just another goal she would not give up on. No matter how much Dacre was trying to keep her away.

Read up on this amazing push & pull characters. This series is defintely one of my favorites so far this year. Can't wait for the next book.

A fun paranormal university romance with a great mix of romance, rivalry, secrets, and supernatural drama. S.L. Cokeley creates an entertaining world where vampires, werewolves, and humans all have to find a way to coexist, while Emma and Dacre's relationship brings plenty of tension.

I really liked Emma's optimistic personality and determination to make her place at Doxlothia University. Dacre is much more focused on his future and family expectations, so watching him deal with being scent-matched to the one person who completely disrupts his plans was really enjoyable.

The culinary competition added a fun touch, while the secrets surrounding Emma and her sisters brought a little more danger into the story. The romance has plenty of chemistry without losing the lighter, entertaining feel. If you enjoy paranormal university romances, fated or scent-matched mates, vampires, werewolves, family drama, and plenty of spice, Bite Me is a fun and easy read.

[ARC READ] —
The slowburn had me angry in the best of ways.
The pay off was great, and it made it believable in a world of vampires and werewolves.
Honestly? I don't know how the author does it, but the supernatural aspect doesn't feel gimmicky. It's a well built world that makes sense.
I liked Dacre more than Parker, and Olivia more than Emm, but I absolutely adore this little pack.
I'm excited to get more Evangeline. She's my favorite
Honestly? Wish the book had more. Dacre's family issues were so lore rich, but it feels like the surface was barely touched. I need more!
The spice scenes were perfect (though I would a million percent read more of them because it has some of my favorite microtropes.)

I have to admit i have no idea how to pronounce Dacre's name. I was calling him 'dar-ss' which I know is wrong but couldnt get my head round it. Maybe it should be more like Daiquiri without the last i? But it took a lot of my attention from the book in Emma's chapters. I didn't find this book as compulsively readable as Just One Bite, but that could be more to do with my own headspace.
Dacre and Emma are so cute together, though the constant hot and cold of Dacre was a struggle. He would think 'im doing this', to then do the opposite, so you never knew how he was going to behave. But I love this world and the Osbornes and cant wait to read the next book in the series.

Ughhh, I hate to 3 star this but I might DNF. I was looking forward to this book but the writing feels so rushed and not as strong as her last. I like the plot but the dialogue and the interactions with the characters felt like they needed at least a couple more rounds of editing. Plus there’s way too much telling and not enough showing.
