I received this book through a Goodreads giveaway, and I don't enter these giveaways unless it is a book that I think that I might find interesting. I wasn't disappointed, and I am glad that I entered this giveaway and was chosen to read this particular book. The book is very well written and will hold your attention; you will not just read 20-pages or so and start thinking about something else and want to go and watch T.V. If you are fan of evil vs. good or light vs good fictional pieces of wor ...more

I was finally able to dedicate some time to just sitting down and reading this book during daylight hours nowhere near my bedtime and I'm so happy I did. Once I was able to sit down and focus on reading I blew through the last 200 pages and was left wondering what could be in store for Sabreal in the next phase of his life. This is an amazing book. Stephen Smith creates an epic story that seamlessly weaves together the world of the distant past with the present and the heavenly realm. The book spans the beginning of time up through present day and is an engaging story of angels, war, biblical history and mythology. I particularly enjoyed the vivid descriptions of ancient lands and times, the details of day-to-day life in Jerusalem or ancient Mayan Mexico adding to the vividness of the story. The tale of Sabrael bri ...more

I found this to be a very intriguing an memorable read. I can honestly say I don't think I've ever read anything quite like it. Both the story and the main character Sabrael, were unique, refreshing and completely reeled me in. Sabrael has definitely earned a spot on my "to keep" shelf... :o)

5 out of 5 stars!

Stephen J. Smith’s The Sabrael Confession is an enthralling piece of fiction. Sabrael is commissioned by Michael to write about his life as an angel of the Lord. It is a fearful, yet inescapable request to conjure up the past, to share memories. Sabrael resplendently steps back to the beginning, a time when Heaven was new. Everything was in perfect harmony, until the Fall. Lucifer believes that he has transcended to God’s leve
