The Husband Maker

Charlotte’s a girl with nicknames. She may not love being called Charles or Chuck, but the hardest nickname to take is the one she was given in college, the one that’s followed her now for too many years. They call her “the husband maker” and sadly, it fits. Every guy she's dated since high school has gone on to marry the next girl they date. Not two or three girls down the road. The very next one.
Is she doing something wrong or is she just cursed?
When Kyle Aldsworth enters the picture and sweeps her off her feet, Charlotte begins to hope that maybe she's not destined to be single forever. A senator’s son with political aspirations of his own, Kyle's wealthy, handsome, and in need of a wife. Will Charlotte be disappointed yet again, or will she finally be able to make a husband for herself?

The Match Maker

It’s been six months since Charlotte and Kyle broke up, and the Husband Maker strikes again. Kyle is officially engaged, while Charlotte is still nursing a broken heart.

In an effort to get Charlotte out of her rut, she and her best friend decide it’s time for some good old-fashioned matchmaking. While Aleena arranges for Charlotte to meet up with a handsome Scottish tourist, Charlotte gets her two best friends together. But when sparks start to fly between Aleena and Angus, Charlotte is left feeling more alone that ever--at least until the charming Scotsman becomes more than just a safe, rebound guy and teaches her that maybe, just maybe, she can dare to open her heart again.

The Wife Maker

Charlotte has spent years as the husband maker, sending every guy she dates off to enjoy marital bliss with the next girl he dates. But things have now changed, and she's determined to use her husband-maker abilities one last time--on herself. And she finally knows exactly who she wants.

Angus has loved Charlotte since they were teenagers, but he's tired of waiting for her to realize how good they could be. She's broken his heart one too many times, and it's time to move on with his life. Maybe a position halfway across the country will be just what he needs to get over her. But when Charlotte won't let him go without a fight, Angus has to decide if he's willing to let her in again or if she's too late.

I really enjoyed this series! It was fun, sweet and different.

The three books follow Charlotte and her friends and family. I find series that follow the same character through each book to be the best.
For more information, please check out my reviews on each of the three books.

I loved this series. And I loved the covers for the individual books. I'm not as big a fan of the cover art of the boxed set. I do, however, think this series is best read together, one right after the other. Here are my reviews of each book:

The Husband Maker:
I've wanted to read this book since I first heard about it. But, with what I heard, I also knew I didn't want to read it until I had all three books in hand (I believe the second had just come out when I heard about this book). So it's been high on my to-read list since the third book came out. When the boxed set (kindle version) went on sale last week, I jumped at the chance to buy them. So far I am loving the series. I like the conversational style of the writing. I like seeing the relationships in this book, those already in place as the ones that develop. I also liked how places they went and things they did were described. This book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger...but luckily I have the next one ready to read as soon as I finish writing this review.

The Match Maker:
As I started reading this book, I realized that perhaps at least part of the reason I like these books so much is that I am very much like Charlotte. I even read a paragraph aloud to my husband that I thought perfectly described me. I feel like in this book Charlotte does a lot of growing and learning. It is definitely a bridge between the first and the third book. And I look forward to reading the third book. In these books there have been things I expected and things I haven't. And there have been beautiful descriptions that make me want to experience/visit some of the same things/places.

The Wife Maker: In this book we get Angus and Charlotte's points of views. I liked that. I loved Charlotte's courage and willingness to sacrifice, and her determination. I liked the advice Angus's parents gave him. This was a wonderful conclusion to the series, and I didn't want it to end. I look forward to reading more about Aleena and Flynn, which was hinted at in the author's message at the end. Throughout the series I liked how the flashbacks/memories were incorporated. This was a great series, and definitely one that was best read as a whole.

This review is coming from a TRUE Husband Maker. Yes, one does actually exist! I couldn't believe that someone had actually written a book about me and had actually given a name to what I had been doing my entire life....making all the guys I dated marry the next woman they dated (after it hadn't worked out with us of course). Needless to say I couldn't read this series fast enough, thinking I might come across some prophetic wisdom as to how I could break this trend, curse or whatever it was. I can't say I had any major declarations come through that I could apply personally, but I absolutely 100% enjoyed reading this series. It hit home on many points. But mainly I just totally lost myself in the joy of the stories. Definitely a must read!!!!!! I only pray that someday I will have the same wonderful outcome as Charlotte did. Buy the series, it's a gem.

Three books for full story

I was glad I had all 3 books, as the first and second ended on cliff hangers. Obviously I wanted to keep reading and did. The main guy needed some serious talking to. I'm glad Will in bk3 finally said something, but the main guy never really took responsibility for his actions, but he apologized eventually. Yea for his smart mom. The leading lady was ever the optimist, smart though innocently clueless at times, and gutsy. She stepped back and made some difficult choices and followed thru. Good story.

I thought the first two books were so well written, interesting, and even fun. I enjoyed them loads. The final book dragged just a bit, mainly because you knew the end result before it began. I wish we saw more interaction between the two main characters. But still, Karey is an excellent writer, syntax, word usage, is all spot on! I love her writing, and want more

A great feel good romance

All 3 books in this series are well written and leave you with a warm feeling.
It's obvious what will happen but not to the main characters and its lovely to have a series with no sex for a change.
Sounds boring but it's too well written for that just sit down with a glass of wine and get lost in a good book!

Mostly left me depressed

I enjoyed this series overall but I also found it depressing for most of the book. I don't want to be a spoiler, but it was almost difficult to believe that the HEA should have even happened.
There were brilliant moments in character development and many quite likeable ones to boot. And the books were well written and edited.
A clean read with a LOT of angst and stubbornness.

It could have been a very cheesy and brainless set of novels (look at the title), but I was pleasantly surprised by the development of the main character through the ups and downs in her search for love.

Great little series

Just a warning if you don't like cliff hangers. Each of these books except the last one ends in a bit of a hanger. If you don't like that then you probably ought to go with the whole set or none at all.
I really enjoyed this series. I am not big on reading series books back to back as I usually end up losing interest. However, I read this series straight through and thoroughly enjoyed it. I kept cheering for each of the guys Charlotte dated. Ultimately all the back and forth in the last book drove me a little nuts and almost made me not like the guy she ended up with, but overall I loved these stories. Gobbled them up.
Language: Completely clean
Sexual content: Completely clean
Religious content: Just talks about prayer before meals Christmas traditions. I wouldn't consider this story religious
Overall story: I thought the characters were very well developed and this was a fun, quick read. This is not really an intelligent read, but it's great clean mind crack if you need a break from the heavy...

I'm very happy that I read this as a boxed set since I sincerely would have been ticked off not to continue on! I liked the heroine and was happy to go with her on her journey. I liked the fact that this was clean... woo-hoo!

The Husband Maker Series

I downloaded the boxed set and loved every everything about it. The story follows Charlotte and her quest of finding love. She follows her heart and most of the time it gets broken and there's one person who's there for her. I love that even though she gets hurt, she doesn't give up and keeps looking...even as far as Scotland!
I'm looking forward to her friend Aleena and Flynn's story and finding out if they are connected or not!
Thank you Karey White for a wonderful story!

A VERY Good read!

Havent we all had very good friends who wanted more emotional involvement than we were prepared to give? This heroine tells her story in such a way that I think most of us can relate. I know I related to it, although my heart straightened out in plenty of time ... we were married 2 1\2 years when he was killed, but we had each other for what was for us a lifetime. if you are waffling over a romance, this can help you.

Good read

Each of the books pick up where the last one leaves off. Good clean reading. If you are looking for a good romantic story then give these books a read. If you need a book with more sex than romance u will want to pass on these books. I fell in love with the characters and there personality. Hope to read more about the secondary characters in the future.

Long read

Started off strong, and then dragged on forever. However, since so much had been put into each character it seemed like you were reading about a friend's life. At the same time, it was slow moving at tInes and it made the storyline just drag unnecessarily. Overall, good read for a nice rainy day on the couch.

Well written romance with easy flowing dialogue and likeable characters. I found this on Amazon unlimited where writing quality is sometimes a mixed bag and you never know what you're going to get. But I was presently surprised with how well written this was.

Great, squeaky clean romance. I highly recommend reading all 3 together, since it's a continuous story. I love how long it is, since most books like this are short, but with the 3, there is more time to get to know the main characters over a longer time span.

It is rare I get a book with a plot so original. This set is one of them. Love the three books, read in a row in about 2 days. A clean, beautiful story that made me think about the things we have as guaranteed and we don't value the way it must be. well done

Absolutely loved it!!!

I left a mire in depth review under the "Wife Maker". This series is awesome clean, and so very plausible, as frustrating as Charlotte and Angus can get. There is a HEA ending.

chick lit. Easy reading and really enjoyable. Not my normal genre of book, so I wasn't sure that I would like it. I was very pleasantly surprised. The characters were believable and by the end of the first book, they were starting to feel like family. Thank you Karey for writing these

Very interesting read, however there were somethings that bugged me in the story, which I can't go into without giving away the story. Still, really enjoyed the series & it was free!

Great trilogy overall. A little predictable but hey, it's a romance. You're SUPPOSED to get the HEA ending :)

I enjoy the writing and this is an author I'd recommend if you like romance.
