The whole book is one giant stalling. Their inner dialogues with their dragons got dreary by the half of the book. I wanted to DNF but kept thinking something would change. My mistake.

Donovan begins this story in that style that is uniquely hers, captivating readers with her vivid scenery & unforgettable characters. Chemistry is at the forefront as dragons and humans battle wills in a very catching manner.

Donovan’s world of dragon shifters becomes more and more in depth with each story. Throughout this instalment she drops tidbits of information that gives readers an even deeper understanding of what makes these individuals tick. She continues to write with the same upbeat, inviting style that draws readers in. Her descriptions bring Lochguard to life in a very real & approachable way. At the same time, Donovan leaves room for readers’ imaginations to run away with them. I love all the sneak peaks into the old dragon language as well as into their modern day culture and practices. Donovan brings her readers deep into this fantastic world, allowing them access to it on many levels. The way that the dragonshifters refer to each other as ‘male’ and ‘female’ is endearing and really sets them apart from humans.

Donovan is one of the few authors who can actually get me to pick up and read a serial. She uses the format well, bringing more to the story with each instalment. There is also a sense of inevitability at the end of this segment. It’s like a mini conclusion.

Fin is a definite Alpha male with a capital ‘A’. He’s even more appealing now that he’s being his true self, as opposed to the supped up individual that he pretended to be in previous novels in the series. Finding out what it is that makes Finn who he is was a shocker and a heartbreaker. Although it doesn’t change how I view him, it definitely adds an extra layer of complexity to an already intriguing character. And Ara’s dragon is turning out to be a real gem. She had me laughing out loud more than a couple of times. Ara vs her dragon is pricelessly comical. Seeing them get to know one another again is enlightening both as to who Ara is on the inside & what it means to have a dragon half. The intimate look at Finn & Ara’s relationship really puts the mate bond (and the frenzy) in perspective for readers. The heat in their relationship really ramps up as they come closer and closer to being a couple.

I was on the fence with this series and was hoping for a bit better with the whole lead up for Anabella. I was disappointed. First, let me say, my main issue with the series is the dragon personas. I have never read a series where the dragons are not the dragons. In this writer's interpretation of dragons, the dragons are just inside the people. It is like being inside the mind of a schizophrenic. I did not like that at all. It was a bit annoying in the other 2 books, but in this book, HATED IT! The previous books were about dragonmen and human women, so the chatter was one sided. With both the man and woman talking to their inner voices was maddening. It took me a while to get through this one.
Aside from the talking inside their heads, I really liked Finn. Anabella was irritating. She went from recluse to overbearing.

2.5 stars.

I'm officially calling quits on this series (at least in audio format). After suffering through 4 installments with this narrator, I can't stand it anymore.

This series has been ruined by the narration. His normal reading voice was quite reasonable, but the minute he put on the voices, OMG! The male voices are at least tolerable, except the male dragons all sound just sleazy. But the female voices! I cringed every time and actually flinched a few times when Arabella's dragon's voice came on.

I think the series is not that bad, but I'd recommend to stay away from the audio editions... at least until they find someone who can manage better voices!

No Disappointment

The story of Fin and Arabella did not disappoint. It had romance, character development and action. We see how far Arabella has progressed in healing since meeting Mel. We also see how she finally heals and becomes the dragon woman she was meant to be. After 10 years of silence with her dragon, they slowly begin coommunicating and building a relationship. Arabella's dragon is supportive and, once she gains Arabella's trust, pushy and funny. We get to see beyond the charming Fin and see his struggles to unite his clan and hold on to the clan leader position. He also shows how caring, loyal and supportive he is. This is demonstrated with the relationship he has with his cousins and aunt.
Arabella finds out that there is more to Finlay that the flirt she met at Stonefire and that they may have more in common that she could ever have believe.
I look forward to reading about Faye and Grant as well as Alistair Boyd stories. I will look for them in the Lochguard Highland Dragons series.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***Received the ebook from the author from an honest review

The cover is sexy!! I definitely like it, and it calls me to the book :)

This is a serial novella series. For those who do not know what that means, I will explain :) A serial series is like a part or episode of a book. It is always multiple parts and different for each author, but Jessie’s are usually 4 parts. While you do not have to read the first two sets to understand the story, I highly recommend you do read them because you will miss out by skipping them. This serial is about Dragon shifters, and for anyone who does not know what a shifter is (yes I found out some people do not know), they are people who change into another creature like a werewolf but could be anything like a wolf, tiger, shark, or bird, but in this series they change into dragons :)

Part One
This story is about Finlay Steward and Arabella MacLeod. If you read the other sets, we could see the story coming and for me, I couldn’t wait to read it. Ara has such strength that I have loved her for a while for her spirit and strength even though she doesn’t realize she has it.

Wow, Jessie does not disappoint as usual. She always does a fantastic job sucking me into her stories where I can’t put it down. I was floored and screaming when it ended because I was not paying attention to the percent read because I was so pulled into the story, and it was over before I realized it. I do have to say that this one is going to be the hardest to wait for the next part.

Part Two
This is part two in Arabella and Finn’s story. Even though you do not have to, I highly recommend starting with Stonefire book 1 and going in order. Reading them all and in order is the best because you learn things as you go that you will miss if you skip them :)

Ara is getting more confident, and we to see more and more of her dragon coming out. She is strong and courageous and beautiful even if she doesn’t realize it all the time. I love her spirit and her cunning. I don’t think Finn realizes everything he is unleashing, so I’m definitely going to enjoy seeing where this goes in the next part :) Finn’s family is definitely growing on me and I will definitely need more than just Finn’s story going forward :)

Jessie does a phenomenal job in her writing. She always more the images jump easily to mind and her humor always has me laughing out loud and everyone asking me what is so funny.

Part Three
Jessie happens to be excellent at serial novellas, she stops that at appropriate (though frustrating) places, and her books always keep my attention where putting the book down is not an option. She has such dynamic characters, and I love how we always have our favorites come back. Her descriptions are awesome and make the story come alive in my imagination.

Arabella and Finn are awesome characters and alphas. I can’t wait for the next part to see what happens. This part does not have any battles or action; it is more drama type stuff though no trouble keeping my attention. I’m betting Part Four is going to be action packed :) I can’t wait!!!

Part Four
This is the 3rd set for the overall series. I highly recommend reading them all in order for the entire series because you will seriously be missing out how getting to know all of the fabulous characters and world that Jessie has created.

Jessie is the Queen of serials. I wasn’t a big fan of serials until she hooked me. She has an amazing style, and I’m always excited when she sends me a new book to read. I do buy the sets too because I love them when I have extra money.

Finn and Arabella had me laughing with their antics, and I didn’t want to put the book down. There is plenty of action and drama and mating to keep you sucked into the world of the Lochguard Clan.

I highly recommend all of the Stonefire Dragon books to all the readers who love dragon shifters! I recommend the whole Stonefire Dragons series and reading them in order! This makes for a much richer world and the characters come to life. I also hate missing things, so reading all in order just makes it awesome :), and I can’t wait to see what Jessie comes up with next!!!

Healed by the Dragon Boxed set is the completely thrilling story of Finn and Arabella. Her story of truth and healing is told in this wonderful 4 part set. Arabella has never been able to overcome her kidnapping and torture at the hands of Dragon Hunters. Her horrors are hidden way down in the recesses of her mind. Finn is just the Alpha Dragon that will force her to face her fears and accept the love her dragon and his has to offers. Finn has a few secrets up his sleeve and uses some hot passionate sex to help her along the way. As the series comes to an end Ara and Finn have worked out some demons and are moving forward in a committed relationship; that is if there is not a band of elders that want to overthrow Finn. The building of passion is carried over each and every part of this set. Jessie Donovan does an amazing job of weaving a dragon tale for you. Jessie’s characters are well developed and she brings you closer to them with her words. I was not disappointed in the entire story of Finn and Arabella.

I have really been enjoying the Stonefire Dragon series. During Seducing the Dragon, there were hints that there could be something between Finn and Arabella. Now that Finn has managed to get her to foster with his clan in Scotland you get to see the real sparks between them. No love story is ever without it struggles, but you finally get to see Arabella move beyond her fears. I was very happy that she got her own story with a happy ending. She has appeared in the first two boxed sets as well and while her story is tragic, she has finally decided to move beyond that tragedy to find happiness. I wait until all four parts of the book are out and buy the box set for two reasons. First, I would rather be able to sit down and read the whole story in one go than have to wait for another part to be released. Second, the box set is seems to be better cost wise too.

Arabella and Finlay had an amazing start the bickering, the smart mouth teasing, the outrageous flirting, was fun. The dragon sides of each character were all animal. *wink wink* ... But as this story progressed all the attitude and bickering and constant interrupted thoughts was annoying. I found myself just wanting the story to move on. It stopped being playful and cute and was just irritating like a little brother not knowing when to stop being pest. I found myself wanting to know more about what was happening with the villains than the couple. I went with 3 stars, just barely, since the story did have plenty of strong characters and nice additions to the overall series. I think this couple will be fun to see inserted into future stories, but doubt I will revisit this story.

Exactly what she needed

Ara and Finn have to be one of my favorite couples in this series. Finn is annoying as all get out, but he knew exactly what to do to pull Ara from her shell. Plus he is the fresh new look his clan needed to become part of the wider community. That’s not to say they didn’t have their struggles or emotional angst alone the way, but with both of their families providing support they made their way right to their HEA. And the author set us up perfectly for the start to another series of dragons. I can’t wait to read all about them!

I love this series and I'm hoping that there's more books to come from this series. The series started with Sacrificed to the Dragon story of Melanie Hall and Tristan MacLeod, then Seducing the Dragon story of Bram Llewelyn-Moore and Evie Marshall and now Healed by the Dragon story of Arabella MacLeod and Finlay Stewart. All books have sense of humours and I enjoyed reading all books. I'm hoping that the next story would be Faye MacKenzie's cousin to Finn.

I'll say it again this has got to be my very favorite of all the Stonefire Dragon stories!

Arabella and Finn's story just pulled my heart strings and their Dragons just blew me away, to be able to read this story in one swoop is fantastic and I will never get tired of reading it and you will absolutely love it.

Such passion and love is monumental!

Bravo Jessie Donovan!

This for me was a let down. I was excited for Arabella's story, but it all came out as, meh. Some parts dragged on for a while and other parts I found myself skimming. Other than that, if you are looking for an interesting and decent dragon shifter series, check this series out.

Wow, Jessie Donovan did not disappoint with Healed by the Dragon! She truly set the stage for a beautiful and powerful love story between Arabella and Finn. Arabella is such a broken soul, and seeing her find healing and love with Finn was incredibly moving. Donovan has a real talent for creating characters that you can't help but connect with, and Arabella and Finn are no exception. They've definitely become some of my favorites in the series.

I was especially drawn to Arabella's strength and resilience. Learning the full extent of what she endured while she was with the dragon hunters was heartbreaking, but it also gave me a deeper understanding of why she is the way she is. It's a testament to Donovan's writing that she can create such realistic and relatable characters, even when they're dealing with extraordinary circumstances. While I can't personally relate to Arabella's specific trauma, I felt a deep empathy for her struggles. That's what makes Donovan's books so compelling - she makes you forget that these characters are fictional.

I'm already eager to dive into the next book, Reawakening the Dragon! It sounds like it's Kai's turn to find love, and if the previous books are anything to go by, this one is going to be sizzling! I can't wait to see what happens next in the Stonefire Dragons series. See you all in the comments!

DELIGHTFULLY DRAGOLICIOUS !!!
Wow! Jessie Donovan has delivered yet another amazing series and what a tasty tidbit it is! Her latest masterpiece of paranormal romance is entitled, Healed by the Dragon and it totally rocks. Jessie has once again dazzled us with her boundless imagination, amazing talent and incredible skill. What I wouldn't give to get a look inside Jessie's brilliant little brain. If I could bottle her imagination and market it, I'd be a billionaire! The story is exciting, original, imaginative, thrilling, spellbinding, riveting, charming, humorous, heartwarming, romantic and seductive. The dialogue is smart, snappy, light, refreshing, well written, hilarious and flows effortlessly. The characters are fascinating, captivating, intriguing, engaging, endearing, sexy and at times, laugh out light funny. Donovan has taken these elements and expertly crafted them into a delightfully entertaining and deliciously cute read. Sure Jessie is talented and yes, she has a wonderful imagination and yes, she is very skilled at her craft, but if I had to name only one thing that I love most about Jessie's books, it's the fact that Jessie always gives her readers more.... more action, more courage and bravery, more sadness and heartbreak, more healing and love, more happiness, humor and hope, more romance, more heat (my more tasteful way of saying more sex - just a play on words and a little humor, folks), more of the totally unexpected, and much, much more than we expect. I laughed....I cried....but in the end, Jessie's books always warm the cockles of my little old heart and leave me with tears of joy in my eyes. Dragon-shifter Finlay Stewart may have been clan leader of Lochguard for only a year but he's already tired of doing the mountain of paperwork that comes with the job. He's also tired of waiting for the minutes to slowly tick by while he anxiously awaits the arrival of the lovely Arabella MacLeod from clan Stonefire. Ever since he met the stubborn, shy lass six months ago, has has thought of her constantly. He had finally been successful in convincing her to foster with clan Lochguard and Bram Moore-Llewellyn, clan leader of Stonefire, has finally agreed for Arabella to come. He only wished he had been as successful at convincing him to plan more attacks on the dragon hunters, afterall they were the ones responsible for the scars on Arabella, physical and emotional. But it's been only two months since the attacks on the offices of the Department of Dragon Affairs and they have only now started handing out visitation passes for humans. They need public opinion on their side and Bram doesn't want to do anything to interfere. Still, the dragon hunters had set Arabella on fire and they needed to pay! He may not be able to plan an attack but he could and would ensure her safety while she's on his land even if he has to fight his own clan. Duncan Campbell and several other members of his clan object to her presence and may try to not only challenge him but hurt him by trying to hurt Arabella. If any of his clan, the dragon hunters or the Dragon Knights mistreat or try to harm his Arabella, they will have to deal with the wrath of his golden dragon. He wants her to feel safe because he and his dragon want her to remain much longer than the 6 month fostering program. He just plain wants her - he and his dragon, and he means to have her! She is his! Huh? Now all he has to do is protect her from his enemies in the clan, shield her from the dragon hunters and Dragon Knights, keep her away from all the other males including his cousins, Fraser and Fergus and last but not least, convince her that she is meant to be his. Oh my! What a to do list! What's a guy to do? Why, give her heather to announce his claim to everyone, give her his heart and somehow get her into his bed, of course! I fear Finn may have a tiger by the tail or should I say dragonwoman by the tail.... Arabella just wants to put her nightmares in the past and she's hoping this will be the fresh start she needs. Despite her best efforts and all her hard work training with her brother, Tristan, she is still unable to trust her inner beast enough to shift into her dragon form. Being unable to shift almost cost her this fostering position. Every dragon shifter speaks of their inner beast as a life long friend and she wants that too but Arabella has been pushing her dragon away for 10 years and now she's not sure if it will ever happen. But she has to be careful - she can't let the cocky, flirtatious clan leader, Finlay Steward ruin her first taste of freedom in 10 years. He's nothing but trouble and she's not about to fall for his tricks. She will just avoid him! Or will she??? It seems her normally quiet dragon is not as timid and shy as she thinks and her beast may have ideas of her own and they definitely include Finlay Stewart! In fact, Ara's dragon has become quite feisty and has chosen Finn as her mate! What? And Finn and his dragon have chosen Ara as thier mate as well! Yikes, get ready for a dragon mating frenzy! Unfortunately, just as the couple are leaving the clan claiming ceremony, they learn from Faye McKenzie, Lochguard's Head Protector, that the Dragon Knights have launched an attack on Lochguard using information and access codes from a traitor within their own clan. They have penetrated the perimeter and are inside Lochguard's walls; they want Arabella and are determined to kidnap her. What the heck? Will Finn be able to protect Ara from the Dragon Knights? Will help arrive in time from Stonefire? Will the DDA (Department of Dragon Affairs) help Clan Lochguard in fending off the attack by the Dragon Knights? Will Lochguard survive the attack? Can Finn discover the traitor before it's too late? Will Finn and Arabella survive long enough to complete their mating? Oh my goodness! Let the heart-pounding, spine-tingling finale begin! Sexy, charming and devilishly handsome dragonman with a very randy dragon-check! Beautiful, stubborn dragonwoman with one very feisty, saucy and uproariously funny dragon-check! A large, wonderful, diverse cast of fascinating and intriguing characters-check! A clan traitor and his compatriots working with an age old enemy, the Dragon Knights-check! Danger, drama, suspense, betrayal, evil machinations and heinous enemies of past and present-check! New alliances, clan politics, startling newly discovered intelligence and another unforeseen enemy revealed-check! Humor, sweet romance, heated attraction, fiery passion, a little agonizing angst, a claiming, a mating frenzy which includes some steamy dreamy sex, dragon style-you betcha! Sparks fly! Attraction sizzles! Desires build! Passion explodes! Oh my glory! That and a whole lot more! And who doesn't love sexy dragons, right??? This just gets better and better! I laughed so much that my sides ached! What a wonderful read! This is not a stand alone story but rather a series and does include cliffhangers but each installment is well worth the wait! Although this book is the conclusion of this series, it's not the end for our favorite dragons. We will see them all again. I can hardly wait for the next spellbinding story featuring Stonefire's Head Protector, Kai Sutherland and BBC reporter, Jane Hartley in Jessie's upcoming new series, Reawakening the Dragon. Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

This was a great book, this book gave you more insight on the Lochguard clan. While it had romance, adventure it made you laugh but also tragedy. The banter between the two characters was great and her writing gave a detailed outlook that you could picture in your head as it took place.

This book was the story of Arabella and Finlay As a young teenager Arabella was tortured by dragon hunters and they meant to burn her a live. She was saved by her mother to died while saving her the scares left behind emotionally and physical cause her to retreat and hide and she never healed emotionally and her brother and clan her no help to helping her.

Finlay is the new clan leader of Lochguard and has agreed to an alliance with the clan of Stonefire. While he was meeting with Bram 6 months earlier they agreed to each foster members of each others clan. That is where he met Arabella and thought of nothing but her. While there he encouraged her to come to his clan to be the first foster dragon even though he had other reasons for having picked her.

Arabella agrees and feels this will give her a chance at a new beginning. While at Lochguard with the help of Fin she starts to heal and the friendship and love starts to grow between them, for they are true mates in the Dragon world. They have to work together to save the clan from danger and expose the traitor.

Of course not everyone is loyal to Fin and not agreeable to the alliance he has formed with another clan not all goes smoothly. Can Fin keep order and deal with the dragon hunters? Can he find the traitoring his clan and deal with all this and still protect his girl? This is where the adventure begins in this bool.

Ugh. I will not be continuing with this series. I liked Finn well enough but Arabella was just downright mean. I had issues with the author's other 2 females (Melanie and Evie) and with Arabella, she just made me made. This author really struggles writing female leads that are strong but also likable. I mean, Ara gets upset at one point because Finn holds out her chair for her! Just because you appreciate or agree with a male every now and then does not make you a weak woman, which apparently the author doesn't understand. Hating and arguing with literally everything the male says or does, does not allow for me as the reader to feel warmth and excitement in their budding romance. It makes me wonder what the heck is wrong with the guy that he allows himself to be put down, reprimanded, and belittled all the time (and if the roles were reversed, I'd wonder the same thing of the female). The author's other 2 females leading up to this were pretty close to being just as awful but not enough to have made me want to wash my hands of the series; this one did.

There was so much potential here, but I just find that the women are too similar and I'm tired of how the lust is shown.

Okay, so this part might not be an issue for people but because their dragons control and have a big part in the lust it just seemed like the characters were mildly attracted to each other unless the dragon turned on the lust to get them to mate. That made it feel empty and not so sexy.

Also, I had high hopes for this one because the Arabella could have been a cool character, but every time the author wanted to show that she was a 'strong character with backbone' she just had a character provoke her into angerly revealing information. That doesn't show me that she's strong, it shows me that she has no control over her emotions.

I had so much hope. Arabella was a dark loner character, Fin was a charismatic fun leader... but all that went out the window in the book. Neither was done well and it just seemed like Fin manipulated Arabella, and Arabella just became another weak willed character with a bossy streak.

I think I'm done with the series for now.

Our past events structure how we move forward in life. We can choose to cower away from the world or take it head on. Choosing the path of taking it head on, means we have to have the support to do so or we will continue to fall back to the hiding path. This fun dragon romance has much deeper meaning woven throughout the plot and makes it even better than expected. It's only the 3rd book in the series, but I am loving how the author is crafting such likeable characters that make it easy to connect with and find yourself cheering on. The spice level is nice, but a bit less heat in the book than in past books as the characters have to work towards trusting each other rather than falling directly into a "mating frenzy." The second half of the book picks up the spice level a bit, but the plot is the central focus of the book and not the frenzy. I'm quite enjoying the series and can't wait to see who the main characters from this dragon world will be to be featured in the next book and how it builds upon the plot of the first few books.

Get Your Dragon On!!

Yes! Yes! Yes! I had such high hopes for this story and Jessie Donovan delivered in every way and then some! When I first met Arabella I knew that when it was time for her story it was going to be dark and brutal and totally gut wrenching but also getting her to realize the fierce strong dragon woman she is inside!! I think it was Finn who unleashed her inner beast and bringing Arabella back to life! I loved how Finn pushed her even though he knew that it could have a negative outcome he was not about to use kiddy gloves with her and I seriously think he was the first person to dish it out to her and eventually her she-alpha dragon gives just as good as she gets. Finn and Arabella’s love story is my favorite so far in the Stonefire British Dragons Series and I can’t wait for what’s next!

I absolutely LOVED Arabella's story. Finn is a wonderful mate for her because of how he uses humour and his undying love for Arabelle to help her heal. He doesn't let her hide and pushes her to be the strong woman he knows she can be.

Arabella's strength is so inspiring. And Finn's too! He's overcome a lot from his youth and is still dealing with the antics of those within his clan that think the old ways are the best ways. There is a lot on his plate and Arabella's strength helps him deal with the stress of clan business by being that shoulder to lean on. She helps him make the tough decisions because she can handle what gets thrown at them.

The Lochguard Clan is also incredibly interesting. I'm really curious to read their stories and learn more about the Scottish clan's history.
