While a lot of the information is dated, there are some good bits that are worth reading. For example, the section on keeping various types of food fresh is a good refresher and the section on ingredient substitutes is a handy reference. I also really liked the garden section, which highlights what plants to plant together, how to compost and the best ways to economically garden and reduce pests (without loads of chemicals!)
This book is pretty dated and most of the ideas are like, "duh!" (Turn off the lights when you aren't using them.) But I did get some utility saving ideas that I'm going to keep in mind: putting an isulated wrap on the hot water heater, a booster heater for the dishwasher, emptying a bucket of water from the hot water heater twice a year...
This book has some good ideas but is very out dated. It started with saying that postage is .$.25! But it makes you think of ways you can cut back but most you probably have already figured out. I wouldn't recomend this to anyone.
