In the mood for a good serial killer mystery series? Scrolling through my Kindle yesterday, I was in the mood for a Murder mystery novel and came across the Graveyard Falls series by Rita Herron. All the Beautiful Brides has several storylines running through the book. The first is Mona Monroe has moved to the small town of Graveyard Falls after her husband Brent was killed and now is on a mission to find her birth mother who lived in Graveyard Falls thirty years ago. Currently, though she has t ...more
This is a fantastic thriller. It is edgy and moody, dark and dangerous. It kept me glued to my Kindle until the very end. What didn't work as well was the romance. Whereas the mystery was three dimensional, rich from multiple angles, the relationship between the hero and heroine felt flat.
All the Beautiful Brides is the first installment in Rita Herron’s Graveyard Falls series. She has the right combination of suspense and mystery; however, I wished there would have been a little more romance.
Cal is an FBI agent pulled in to work a case that has an eerie connection to a serial killer that struck the town years ago. Cal’s personal and professional life is quickly becoming twined together and it forces him to reevaluate what he ...more
And the plot does start out great. 30 years ago three young girls were killed and their bodies were found with a rose jammed into their throats. Now another is killed and found wearing a vintage wedding dress, rose down her throat. My first clue that this was not going to be the romantic suspense I was excited ...more
A Good serial killer mystery by Rita Herron. I can't say the romance portion was real prevalent in the book but the mystery serial killer portion was good. The romance part seemed more thrown into the story. There really was no chemistry between the two, because they new each other for years, but always had an attraction to each other, but she ended up marrying his best friend. So there was no lead up to the romance or any sort of get to know ...more
This book doesn't disappoint. Although the plot isn't anything new, I found it gripping. The basis is a serial killer that's been at large in a small town for thirty years that now has an FBI agent closing in. There was never a dull moment with a skilfully entwined plot that kept me guessing to the end.
"The white gown fanned out around her like angel wings in the snow. If only she had been the one..."This story would have gotten all five stars if it had included just a tad more romance.
This reader was intrigued by the secondary character, Sheriff Ian Kimball - hoping his story is rel ...more
Umm..... I liked this book didn't love it. As three months after her hubby dies the female protagonist is kissing his best friend. No no no.... Especially since she had a 'good' marriage??? If it had be a year or even six months maybe I could have believed it, but the romance fell flat.
Remove the romance and I liked the mystery aspects of the story, but..... The one character 'Josie' moving back to help her mom take care of her grandfather was ODD! The character when first introdu ...more
Skipped majority of it.
I was only in it for the romance. Found the thriller overwraught and boring.
Why did she marry Brent when she had feelings for Cal? How could she have made a life with another man?
How could Cal have given up so easily? He didn't express interest...
How does she manage to hook up with Cal so fast? Her husband only died 3 months ago.
How did Cal keep a secret that Brent betrayed Mona the entire marriage. He was a bigamist.
How, how, how indeed.
Special Agent Cal Coulter was being sent to Graveyard Falls to investigate a murder. It seems the town was named after a waterfall in the mountains. Three young girls were murdered and pushed off the falls to their deaths thirty years ago. Rose thorns were in the girls’ mou ...more
One thing is for sure, the town is full of crazies!
This book reminded me how much I used to enjoy romantic suspense novels. It was good solid suspense, and although there was quite a bit of storyline and characters to keep track of, I was kept guessing and never figured it all out. This is a trilogy, but I don't have any desire to read the others.
Kept me up all night long! I could not out it down! Read this book in one evening/night!!!
There are so many 'dips, dodges & D'OH 's in this book! You think you've figured it out and "WHAM" ...look again, cause you're wrong!! Haha!
Get this book right away, pop some popcorn and start reading!
