What would you do if the woman that you love, the woman you just made love to, the woman that trusts no one with her secret, just told you her deepest darkest secret? A secret full of demons, a secret that would be anyone else's nightmare. One that never in a million years would you have guessed.

Now what would you do if you came face to face with that nightmare, the demons, the devil himself?

What would you do?

Would you let her walk away to save yourself or would you die for her? What would you do?

An Oregon native and Amazon international best-selling author, SM Stryker started writing as a way to explore the aspects of the human condition. Her stories take you on a personal journey in which her characters learn something about themselves, weaving true love stories about people destined to be together.

SM. Stryker is the dirty alter ego of a quietly introverted mortgage broker behind the stories. While she might be a wife (to her biggest cheerleader), mother of four adult daughters and grandmother of four on the outside, there's nothing but hot and steamy fantasies being plotted beneath the surface.

Known for her real-life emotionally charged, unpredictable, suspenseful but heart-warming page-turning romances novels, Stryker's stories touch on normally unspoken subjects. Her characters are strong, intense, and gut-wrenchingly real. Heroines that fight their demons to become survivors and their sexy but sensitive alpha hero's that will fight beside the women they love in their journey to find their own solace.

Stryker tries to use her platform as an author to raise awareness about sexual abuse of children and adults.

Although quiet by nature, she loves to hear from her readers!

She has shared more of the events of her life in many of her other books.

Title:Stolen Innocence
Series:Standalone
Author:S.M. Stryker
Release date: September 15, 2014
Rating:1 star
Cliffhanger:No
HEA:

I tried to stop myself from writing a review, but I can't hold it in. This book was...this book just...I can't even...this is how this book made me feel:

I'm only asking myself two questions right now. Dear lord, HOW did I read this entire book? And more importantly, Why??

It was like a compulsion. The more I read, the more I had to find out if it got better. I kept saying, "All right, that has to be it. That's the worst of it. Right?" I can't explain it, I just couldn't stop. It was like reading a fantasy book with really idiotic characters that don't make a lick of sense. Please, spare yourself the disbelief and scorn and

First of all, the heroine is 18, she just left home and escaped her sexually abusive stepfather who forced himself on her since the age of 13 when her mother died. She's now in college living in a crap apartment and starting a new job. Suddenly-BAM! She trips and falls and I'll give you one guess who catches her. Our hero of course. I was willing to get past that cliché, but after she runs off, She bumps into him not 1, not 2, THREE more times. Yeah, she runs into this total stranger at random spots in the city every day and even though she has this Cinderella complex he keeps finding her again.

After I read this, I was like, Um-Ok. That's....ridiculous. But maybe it's just me. This is going to get better.

I should have quit when I was ahead.

There were so many things regarding her sexual abuse in her past that was unrealistic. So many.

She falls in major lust with him immediately.
She falls for him pretty much on their first date. Like, starts thinking the "L" word to herself.
She has NO sexual hangups with him. NO flashbacks before or during sex, Everything is just hunky-dory.

I guess this magical, fated love they have cured her of her "demons". Rainbows and Unicorns, guys.

One last thing and I really have to stop, but I have to say, this was the dumbest hero I have ever read.

He had absolutely, not the first clue about her abuse. None. Hey, Ian: Yoo Hoo! *knock knock* Anybody home? This guy is the kind of man you use as a blueprint to build an idiot. For reals.

Reasons anyone would realize she was abused:

She has not even a hint of experience with dating or men.
She wants to become a counselor for kids who were sexually abused.
She told him she had a horrible childhood and she has "Demons"
She gets fear in her eyes when he mentions her stepfather and won't talk about him.

He is shocked. SHOCKED I tell you, when he finds out.

And the nail in his coffin of stupidity:

Fact #1: She told him she's never been kissed.
Fact #2: She told him she's never had a boyfriend.
Fact #3: He gives her an orgasm and she doesn't know what happened to her.
Fact #4: They have sex for the first time and he is stunned by her virginity.

My one goal in writing this:

And I have to stop myself. I feel so annoyed I could go on, but I'll spare you any more gory details.

First, I have to say the cover drew me in and when I read the blurb I knew I had to read Stolen Innocence. S.M. Stryker, thank you for writing about a topic that we know is prevalent in society yet many are not open to talking about it.

Parker just wanted a fresh start and, with the support of her best friends, Bridget and Ash, she was able to get started. While trying to adjust to her new life she runs into a "tall, broad-shouldered, dark-haired god...that has the brightest green eyes she had ever seen", known as Ian. When reading this part, I realized that Parker was still a shy girl deep inside.

Ian has his goals set before him and he will allow nothing to interfere with them. That is, until this beautiful blonde, nice ass, long legs steps in front of him and, lo and behold, he saves her from a tragedy. Now, sees a way to talk to her...or does he?

Oh, Parker! My heart goes out to her because as hard as she tries, she feels she is unlovable due to her past. Little did she know though, it had nothing to do with her. And sexy Ian, as hard as he tried to get Parker to open up to him, the more she ran away. But that didn't stop him because he knew she was something special and refused to give up.

Their run-ins had me laughing, swooning and fidgeting because of how freaking hot and sexy Ian was. I was rooting for Ian and Parker because they both deserved happiness, yet I could not have predicted the loops S.M. Stryker threw in there. And let me say, BEWARE because it had me gasping and asking myself, ‘what the heck just happened???

One thing is for sure, I will definitely be looking out for more from S.M. Stryker!! ~ Kara, 4.5 stars

This is a story about a young woman that has grown up with sexual abuse and her need to free herself and find a new life, one that she has always dreamed of.

After meeting a man, she struggles with her demons within her knowing that no one would want her once they found out her secrets. He wants to show her that he is someone she can trust and count on.

************************************************
This book deals with a taboo subject of sexual abuse. The original book (before it was banned) dealt with a father that sexually abuse his daughter, which is really a taboo subject since it was banned until I took that out. Not all story's a picture perfect.

Since publishing my book Stolen Innocence I have had all kinds of reviews, ranging from how great it was, to how horrible it was, because they didn't see the real story.

I understand, this book was my way of healing, and It really helped me. With me, it didn't just last for 5 years it went on for a long time. The confusion Parker has in the book of love is exactly what I went (going) through, how can someone that loves you do things to you that are so horribly wrong, we are raised to love our parents, it is an unconditional love.

It is a hard subject but what I wanted to get across was that you don't have to be a victim, you can survive and come out the other side. I wanted people to be aware of what is still happening in the world. It is so often swept under the rug. I want people to know that it isn't always the unknown person that does this to a child it is a family friend or relative. When people read this, they are supposed to be reading how she learns not to be a victim any longer, she fights and learns that she will use her tragedy to help others that have gone through similar experiences.

I started my author page on facebook because I didn't want family and friends to know what happened to me and because, after all it does have some pretty racy parts in it. But I realized I was doing the same thing, I to was sweeping it under the rug and I wasn't going to do that any more. This is to important of a subject to hide. I have been hidden to long and I won't do it again. I know it is a taboo subject and I know a lot of people don't like it, but it isn't about liking the subject, it is about the story itself.

Again, my reason for writing this book to bring awareness to this growing situation. It is time to bring it to the forefront and not hide behind it. And yes at first I didn't want people, strangers to know what happened to me, that is why I changed my name, but now I don't care. I get mad when I get reviews that Parker didn't act like a person that was sexually assaulted...I have to say why, are you her? I AM Parker...I didn't cut or do drugs or drink, I did internalize everything, and this is what happens when it is time to come out.

I did come out the other side. What happened to me, made me who I am today. I am here for a reason, I still don't know what it is, but if this book helps one person, then I don't care about anything else.

In all honesty

this book disturbed me. I don't usually like to give major spoilers, but I think I'm going to make an exception here, so DON'T read any further if you want to avoid them....

ok.....the h has been raped by her 'adoptive father for the last five years....read it before but still....ewwww. what is disturbing about this as compared to the other such story lines is that at the age of 13 when it all started she thought that this was how all daddies loved their daughters....WHAT WHAT WHAT THE HELL. just no. no no no way can I accept that. that takes unacceptable to a whole new level for me. ok. eventually h gets her head out of a dark spot....you know that place.....and when she turns 18 she runs away. good for her, right?

cue in the H. she sees him, feels that tingle when they touch....you know the one Christian and Anastasia felt in FSOG. ok, I'll over look it because really I'm just getting so used to that. well she runs away. sees him again. more tingles, and she runs again. then she sees him a third time, remember the tingles and running. well you guessed it. ok fourth times a charm obviously and he gets her to go to dinner. they're falling in love.....over dinner mind you....ANYWAY. here's where disturbing number two comes in. after hanging out a couple of days they get hot and heavy (supressing SHUDDERS) this sexually abused child who is just weeks from escaping her abuser goes down on the H like a porn star. unbelievable and yes DISTURBING.

now we come to their grand love scene, again she performs like the proverbial porn star. the H swears she's a virgin, and I'm going WTH. she tells her sad story of rape and he's still trying to get around that fact he swears she was a virgin. mean while I'm still stuck in WTF mode. then she runs. I know, I know. this chick could use stock in Nike's, but I digress. well dear old dad is waiting for her when she gets back to her apartment. H comes to save her, blah blah.

and cue in just a little more BS to keep this h trapped in the wreckage that is her life.....

she goes dancing with her two best friend, gets drugged, dragged out of the club, but rescued by H. poor girl, or poor me. ANYWAY. H convinces h to move in and she is kidnapped....I know I'm thinking the same thing.....SERIOUSLY? well kidnapper turns out to be.....wait for it.....her only date from high school who is her best friend and dating her other best friend. oh god, what are the odds. anyway. dude does some nasty touching and cutting on h, in rides H and FINALLY ....thank God.....the end.

aside from all this.....the writing is a lot of inner cheesy monologue.....cheesy declarations of love and feelings (snort).....all in a robot voice. hello CONTRACTIONS. we speak in contractions. I am robot does not a smooth read make.

ok....I'm done here. the rest is on you.

Parker Dane’s life was wonderful until she is 13 when her mother is killed in a car accident by a drunk driver.
Her life is not the same after the accident. Her adoptive father starts to abuse her.

On her 18th birthday, she leaves home after school without a word of where she's disappeared to. Only her best friend knows.

She is haunted by her years of abuse, but determined to find a job, go to college and move on with her life in a new city. Parker runs into this guy three different times but runs away from him before finding out who he is.

Ian Blake can’t get this girl out of his mind but doesn’t understand why she runs from him. On their fourth encounter they finally find out each other names and he won’t take no for an answer in taking her to dinner.

Parker’s life changes once again. She has her demons that have been bottled up for five years and knows that once Ian finds out about them he will be gone as no one wants damaged goods.

Ian tries to tell her that no matter what, he won’t leave and wants her to trust him. Will he stay true to his word when he finds out about her demons and her past starts to catch up to her or will he turn his back on her like she fears?

The author did a good job with dealing with a very difficult subject that many don’t like to talk about. As it is said in the book, everyone meets someone for a reason and Ian and Parker were destined to run into each other.

I would have loved to give this book a 5 star review but there were some errors in the book and at times, a little confusing to follow. I will be reading more from this author as I overall enjoyed the book as it had the right amount of mix of emotions with several surprises.

I loved the first two-thirds of the book. This was an amazingly emotional, well written and troubling story focusing on child abuse by an adult. The subject of a close relative (by marriage or biological) is a taboo in our society. Our author shines a light of this the most heinous of sins - the betrayal to a child who has just lost her mother by the step father that has cared for her since birth.

Tactfully written, our story portrays Parker's struggle to survive and begin a new life. THERE ARE NO EXPLICIT SCENES but the impact is just the same. The years of abuse Parker goes through, is a torch light to awareness that these things do happen in our world. We should all remain aware and be ready to help any child suffering from this betrayal.

I would have given this book 5 Stars were it not for the last part of our story. I was fine until the conclusion of the threat from the step father (cannot say more because I will spoil the story for you) but it just seemed too much for one human being to bear after that. In the end, though, this is a good story.

Parker's loss and abuse and tragedies were really heartbreaking. She suffered a lot in her youth and it was understandable when she didn't trust anyone that crossed her path. Ian, I think he was an angel sent from above, I loved this guy so much. He's got a big heart and a warm smile that was sure to brighten up every reader's face. He was perfect for Parker and I loved how they perfectly fit each other.

Ahh, a bittersweet novel about love, betrayal, acceptance, trust and moving forward.

Stolen Innocence is a beautiful story set in a great plot, the characters were believable and enthralling, the author effective and efficient. This is a novel that bravely tackled and talked about harsh truths but meaningful life lessons.

This is my first book by S.M Stryker and she struck me hard with her excellent writing. I loved how she is vivid in her detail and descriptions. She has hypnotized me with her talent and words. I can't wait to read more of her books!

After years of abuse, Parker Dane flees her home to free herself. Starting her life in a new city, she meets Ian Blake or rather she runs into Ian multiple times but always runs away before she meets him. Ian can't get Parker out of his mind, yet he doesn't even know her name.

Ian can’t believe his luck, he finally sees her and she can’t get away from him this time. Parker is riddled with demons and fears falling for Ian. She knows if Ian ever learns of her secrets, she will lose him forever, but through the course of their dating, she faces more heartache and is unable to break free from her nightmare.

Can Ian be that man, the one that stays by her side and helps her through all the pain in Parker's life? S.M. Stryker is a great writer. Her alternate points of view give more depth to the story and keep the reader involved.

This book was a twist and turn of emotions for me. It made me want to celebrate and cry right along with the characters. This book had me riveted right from the first page. I couldn’t put it down and finished it in one night, wanting to know what happens next.

I would highly recommend this book!

I loved this book for so many reason... However I don't want to spoil it for you..

I was so heartbroken for Parker, after the loss of her mom, how could her own family hurt her so bad... I was angry that she felt broken and damage....I loved the courage and the fight she had to take matters into her own hand.

What can I say ladies about Ian...swoon.... Holy cow he is perfect ;) I literally loved him with ever flip of the page...book boyfriend ;)❤️

What I loved most about this book was the pure, honest and at time SEXY romance... I love there was no angst with their grow love...you only saw the love grow and the honest front they built together to conquer the Angst outside circumstances caused them!!!!!

If you are looking for a sometime heartbreaking , sexy as hell romance this is your book;)

I received this book for an honest review. Stolen Innocence by S.M. Stryker is a really good story that will touch your heart I am sure, as it did mine.

When Parker was 13 years old, her mother, the most important person in her life was struck and killed by a drunk driver. When she was a baby she was adopted by her mom's husband and he is the only father she ever knew. Life for Parker turned dreadful once her mom was no longer there, and her Father just started falling apart.

This is when Parker's life became a nightmare and though she reached out for help a couple of times, no one really believed her so she learned to hide inside herself until she was able to leave.

Her best friends through school are Bridget her best friend, and Ash, who is also a friend and though they dated once in high school, Parker does not date in high school again after that as she just can't face what is going on in her life. Bridget and Ash start dating and stay together.

On Parker's 18th birthday she executes the plan she has had for the last four years of her life-turn 18, and move out, rent a place of her own and work while she goes to school. And never see her adopted dad ever again.

Parker finds a nice job at a bookstore right down the street from her apartment and picks up the pieces of her life and tries to have a normal life again. While this is happening she runs into a very handsome young man-Ian- dumping food on him by accident twice and the third time at the bookstore and Parker likes him but she is afraid to take that leap of faith and be with him.

As time goes on she falls for Ian, never expecting to ever find someone of her own, and it feels good to her that Ian seems like the one. She had to quit holding on to her silence and let him know about herself and she does, and then runs home, straight into her apartment and her adopted father sitting there waiting for her to get home.

1 What is going to happen, will she be forced back to the life she just struggled so hard to get away from?
2 After what Parker told Ian- will he go after her and will he help her get over her past?
3 What happens after Ian gets to Parker's apartment and hears her adopted father in there?
4 What happens to Ian?

You will have to read this book to see what happens I do not want to give the plot away. On top of everything there is another really big twist to the plot that will have you reeling when you read it!

All of the characters are well developed and there is so much emotional angst in the book along with the twists in the plot that makes it a great read.

Read this book -not only is it a great read but it focuses on things that happen in real life on a daily basis that makes you realize just how special the author's words are and her insight on the topic of this book.

I gave the book 5 stars and look forward to more from this author.

After 5 years of being abused in her own home Parker finally manages to escape when she turns 18 and tries to start a new life for herself. Always wanting but never knowing if she would be able to handle a real relationship and falling in love, she can’t believe if when she literally falls at Ian’s feet and instantly feels something for him. Ian is just as hypnotised by Parker and together these two fall for each other quickly. But will Parker’s abuser catch up with her? Who else is trying to hurt her and can Ian protect and love her like Parker needs him to?

“I want to know what it is like to be in love and be loved. I want more. I want a family of my own, a loving happy family.”

Honestly I was frustrated with this book, it had brilliant potential and the story line was actually really good, with lots of nail biting moments and a brilliant twist that I didn’t see coming at the end but the writing and the immaturity of the characters meant this book didn’t quite reach up to what it could be.

“I feel like a weight is being lifted from my soul. Ian has taken all the pain I have lived with for all those years, obliterating it where it doesn’t have control over me any longer.”

On the surface I really like Parker and Ian. Parker was sometimes mature for her age and was extremely brave considering what she had been through. Ian was protective and kind and thought he was definitely Parker’s knight in shining armour. However it was the insta-love with these two, and how Ian was so oblivious to Parker’s sexual history when really it was quite obvious, meant I couldn’t really develop strong connections to them.

“Parker, if I could give you one thing I would give you the ability to see yourself through my eyes. Maybe then, you would realize how incredibly special you are to me.”

The plot was really good. It was dramatic, nail biting, didn’t know where it was going, the twists were brilliant and there was a nice mixture of sweet and intimate scenes, sexy scenes and then a really good dose of drama and suspense. The writing didn’t quite match up to the maturity of the story at times though and again that was another thing that stopped this book reaching its potential.

“Parker, you’re a survivor; you can go on, and you will go on. You are strong. You are a fighter.”

Overall I liked it, I just didn’t love it. It really had potential and I will definitely look out for more from this author in the future.

“His eyes are dark and hooded, and he kisses me softly. Pulling away, he looks at me again, as if questioning himself what to do next. He kisses me again, this time a little harder but this time he doesn’t stop. He continues to kiss me so hard it’s as if he is staring and can’t get enough to eat. I feel the same way, and all thoughts leave my mind. I am dying for his touch, for his mouth, for his love.”

4 stars. This book was emotional and deals with a touchy subject, child abuse. But it was dealt with delicately and it was well written.

Haunted by her years of abuse, Parker Dane tries to leave her past behind her to start a new life in a new city. She meets Ian Blake; actually she runs into him multiple times, but always runs away before learning his name. Ian can't get Parker out of his mind and he doesn't even know her name.

Ian finally gets his opportunity to meet Parker, and he will do anything in his power to keep her from running away from him again. Parker has years of demons and fears bottled up inside her; she knows that if Ian finds out her secrets, she will lose him forever; no one wants damaged goods. Will Ian make her run away again or will her past catch up to her trying to pull her back.

Will Ian be the man to stand by Parker or will he turn his back on her.

Parker’s life was perfect up until she was 13, when her mother was killed by a drunk driver. After that her life spirals out of control. Her adoptive father starts to physically abuse her. When she turns 18 she decides to leave and not tell anyone, except her best friend. And although she’s running away from her past, she can’t runaway from the years of abuse, but she is determined to get a job and start college. While in town she runs into a guy three different times but she runs away before he can speak to her. Ian Blake can’t get Parker out of his mind after running into her. The next time he runs into her he exchanges names and wants to take her out and won’t take no for an answer. Everything seems to be going well, but in the back of Parker’s mind she’s afraid to tell Ian about her past, fearing he’ll leave her. He tries to reassure her that he’ll stand by her no matter what she just has to trust him. This book dealt with a sensitive subject but it’s handled so well. I really enjoyed reading this book!!!

3 stars. This feels like it was written by a new author. Really not bad and I liked the characters the situations were far-fetched and the H almost too perfect. Some grammatical errors, like omitting quotations, lack of contractions that sometimes made the dialogue feel stilted.

****Sexually abused heroine spoiler**** Not too much of a spoiler because pretty early on the author shares this information. Still, possible trigger for some particularly since the heroine pretty much gets over it ridiculously fast.

Parker has been secretly planning to leave home the day she turns 18 because the step-father who raised her has been abusing her since her mother died when she was 13. Parker has not shared this with anyone including her closet friends Bridget and her boyfriend Ash. She plans on finishing high school from home then enrolling in summer college courses. She's rented an apartment in Portland and now just needs a job.

She literally runs into Ian and it's insta-love but she runs away from him. After the 4th time they bump into each other he convinces her to go out with him. Like I said, Ian is almost too perfect and Parker comes across a lot more sophisticated than you would expect a sheltered 18 year old to be.

Some things that stood out not in a good way:
The author was bent on giving a history lesson about the state of Oregon. I get she was trying to be descriptive about the location but the heroine sounded like she was reading from a travel book, it was like a discovery channel documentary at times.

The author has obviously read FSOG. Ex: The h bites her lip and it turns the H on, he blindfolds her at one point and there is even the hot elevator kiss against the wall with the H holding the h's hands over her head (deja vu since I just finished the FSOG series).

It just stretches the imagination that an abuse victim would jump right into the sexual side of a relationship when it was just a week or two since her step-father last raped her. I believe it was the weekend of their first date or maybe the next where they pull over to the side of the road and she's blowing him outside of the car. She pretty much turns into a sex kitten as soon as they start to get physical and while I enjoy that it was way out of character believability.

But....this is a fairy tale after and the main characters are just so likable. Even though the book had issues I did enjoy it. Definitely good for a freebie.

This is really a good story of a young women who proves you can get past abuse. Parker Dane and Ian Blake are living proof you can get a HEA after it.

Parker Dane is a young girl trying to get away from a life she has lived since her mother died. She worked hard thru school to be able to be ahead of graduation and get a jump start into college courses so she could leave her home and her adopted father Hank. Once she is 18, she is legally free and she can be out in the world on her own. Parker moves to Portland and sets out to make a new life for her. Leaving behind her best friends, Bridget and Ash. They're heading off to another college elsewhere so this is not a biggie for Parker. As Parker starts to get things together in her new town she almost blows away the only person she will ever trust and have the dream of her HEA with.

In walks Ian Blake. A young man who has had his share of women and is enjoying being the single bachelor. Hes late for a meeting and just happens to see this beautiful young woman and shes about to fall.....So does he. Head over heals. He never thought it was true that you could fall in love at first sight til he met Parker. But Parker is a runner and not sure what life is all about quite yet.

These two find love and how to over come demons with the trust of another person. And Parker finds out that being a parent isn't the way she was raised. She didn't know anyone she could talk to and tell her what a parents job is and how they should love their child.

This story can be disturbing to someone who has never had to go through abuse. Its is there and it is real. The author S.M. Stryker tells you how it feels and what you have to do to overcome this in her own words. She tells Parkers story and how Parker can get past her demons.

I gave this 4 stars. I love the way the author tells the story and how you can end up in life after abuse with your own HEA.

I have lots that I would like to say about this book but too much of what I have in mind would spoil the story and as such I am left with no option but to keep this short.
The story belongs to Parker and I say that because it really is her tale to tell.
She has a right to be heard, she has lived much of her life hiding not only who she is but what has been happening to her and finally this is her time and rightfully so.
Creating a new life for herself Parker is starting over, away from her pain and misery and is hiding in the multitudes in a city where she can safely lose herself completely.
But what do you do when time and time again you happen upon someone who has you running for the hills?
Parker is determined to keep her past exactly where it is, behind her and she is completely terrified of actually taking time to stand tall and take a deep breath, to take lung full of life, one that given a chance she would see she so richly deserves.
Ian is her mystery man but he wants to be more than that for her but what can he do when she evades him at every opportunity.
When they eventually meet the book sprouts wings and takes off because they were just superb.
They taking things slow but it is far from smooth, and they have a way to go but they have each other – Is it enough? – Well only time will tell but at least it is a start.
Parker was a complicated but charming character, her abusive past was handled well and the impact that, that had on her present was evocatively portrayed.
Ian though well, I was just perfect for her, the man she needed to have by her side but could he be the man she needed to wash away the fears that she was drowning in – I had everything crossed for them both.
Could they find a happy place that would welcome them both and allow what they have to grow… my lips are sealed, because you need to read the book to find that out for yourself.

Parker Dane is only 13 when her mother dies. Now her only family is her adoptive father, Hank. But the only man that should protect and love her, starts abusing her sexually. For five years she lives in hell, scared, alone and with no one that believe her. For five years she endures not only a physical abuse, but also a psychological pressure. She’s so ashamed of herself that she thinks that is normal, that every father is like Hank. But deep in her heart she knows that this is wrong and when she turned 18, she run away from home, looking for a new life in Portland. Here, she falls literally in the arms of Ian, a young attractive man. For Ian it’s love at first sight, for Parker it’s a confusing feeling.
Ian knows that Parker is facing some inner demons, that she’s keeping a secret she doesn’t want to tell. Ian is ready to love and protect her, but once the secret is out, the consequences are nightmarish. But the love between Parker and Ian is stronger than any adversity, their love is the key to heal and the second chance to live.
The debut of S.M. Stryker. This book is well written even if in some passages you can feel the immaturity of a first book that in some way is transferred to the characters. I felt this immaturity in some dialogues, or the way Ian fall in love so fast, or the way Parker surrends herself so easily to Ian, despite years of abuse. In the complex the book is very good, emotional, a book that doesn’t leave the reader unresponsive. The sexual child abuse is a serious subject, like a taboo, something to sweep under the rug. I admired the courage of this author to write about it, it’s not easy even more when your write your very first book. The story is not centered on the child abuse, but on the hope for everyone that, no matter what happened, out there is someone waiting to love you unconditionally, and love is the key to heal.

Author S.M. Stryker had me a sobbing mess one moment and a pile of mush the next. This story is about moving on and dealing with your demons you are trying to run from. S.M. Stryker did a great job at keeping this book balanced between the struggles and heartache.

The one thing I will say is I wish that there would have been more character development with Parker Dane before she bumped into Ian Blake. It felt a little rushed to me.

I also would have loved Ian’s point of views to have been less of a recap and more of the story through his eyes.

With that being said, I loved how Ian knew Parker was it for him even with her demons she was trying to keep from him.

Parker Dane has a very troubled past. She was sexually abused for years. She does not want to meet anyone when she fleas from home to survive on her own. She needs to become self-dependent and realize that she is self-worthy.

Ian Blake bumps into Parker four times before he is able to talk with her. He knows it is more that than coincidence and he needs to prove that to her. I really loved his character. He is very much an alpha male that has a super sweet and loving side to him. He had me swooning multiple times. When Ian takes Parker to his special place I became his biggest fan.

He also had me growling at him for raising his voice to Parker. He missed the signs she was sexually abused a few times. But when you are raised by two adoring parents, sometimes it isn’t your fault you are blind.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. Parker found someone to share her happy memories with and someone who could help heal her at the same time.

Stolen Innocence by S.M. Stryker tells the story of Parker Dane and Ian Blake. Several chance meetings bring these two together. Parker has a past that she is afraid to tell anyone about.

After turning 18 she moves out of her family home to start over. After running into Ian literally and by chance Ian decides that he has to know her and not let her run away. Reluctantly Parker accepts the invitation and a wonderfully connected romance blossoms. There are bumps along the way and Parker finally tells Ian what her secret is. Parker feels no one should have to burden others with her secret.

This book has mature content and the story line deals with an issue that is not delved into everyday by an author. S.M. Stryker did a fantastic job of writing the characters and how they interacted with each other. I enjoyed how the story line was paced and I especially liked that Ian was not afraid of his feelings from the get go and was not afraid to tell her. This was a refreshing change from the alpha male dominate. He was wonderful. I'm glad I found my Ian. Parker was written just as well. She was dealing with serious sexual abuse issues and was able to one push herself to do her best so that when she was 18 should would be capable of changing her fate and two she was still open to love and affection. Now it wasn't easy for her but she didn't back down either. It really hit home for me.

I think S.M. Stryker did a phenomenal job writing a story about a tough topic. Her writing style flowed effortlessly and kept me interested from the first page. I'm still processing this book and am in awe of how emotionally connected I was with it.

This was a great book.

WOW this book was Amazing and intense. It was a beautiful, heartwarming, and very inspiring love story about acceptance, strength, and survival.

Parker, the beautiful 18 year old, is running away from her past and especially from her stepfather Hank. Eww Hank is a horrible evil man. He has been evil ever since his wife, Parker's mother, died five years ago. The problem is everyone in the community likes and highly respects him. This ends up making it hard for Parker to tell anyone about the abuse in fear that nobody will believe her. So she decides to pack up and move to Portland for college. With her best friends Bridget and Ash in her corner Parker finds the strength to move forward. Parker very cute and clumsy like meets Ian Blake. Wow he is the perfect man in every way and is quickly attracted to her. But Parker, poor traumatized Parker, does not feel ready to trust any man although she is instantly attracted to Ian as well. Her inner demons keep her scared, untrusting, and jumpy causing strains on any personal relationship for her. Will Ian continue to pursue her? Or will Parker keep doing what she does when she is scared....run? And what about Hank...what will he do when he discovers Parker just ran off? This is a must read for so many good reasons. This book is very beautifully written, an amazing love story, and it is inspiring to see the strength of these characters. While reading this I felt so many deep emotions and yes I cried a few times but some of my crying were happy tears of joy and relief. I cheered, screamed many times, laughed often, and felt happy and quite jealous of Parker and Ian's bond. If only Ian had a brother I could marry ...lol

This is S.M. Stryker’s debut novel, and let me just say she has hit this out of the park. This book isn't all fairytales and ice cream cones. The heartache will make you buckle it will make you grab for tissues, feeling pain Parker is going through. But then there is this man who just keeps appearing and bringing smiles to Parker’s sad and lonely life. Now if only Parker could believe good things can happen to her and stick around long enough to get this hot and sexy eye candy’s name, maybe just maybe she could have sweet in her life with all the dark and scary secrets. The problem is to have good and sweet you have to let them into the dark and bad pass. Is this man worth it? Can she really put herself out there?

Ian has everything he could ever want out of his life; he is living it up with no worries and no thought about a relationship. Till he keeps catching this one female, there is something about her that pulls him to her, but she keeps running. It is driving him crazy when they touch or should I say when he catches her, his body jumps to life at the same time she is jumping and running as fast as she can away from him.
Can Parker stick around long enough for Ian to get her name, if he does can he handle her secretes or will he run the other way? You will just have to read and see.

Please know there are some touchy topics in this book but it is 100% worth the read.

I never read what this book was about, I simply picked it up because it was by a recommended Author and I liked the cover and name. I didn't think too much about the name of the book in terms of what it would be about but it definitely made sense. The thing I loved most about this book is that it didn't just give you a story line, get to the biggest parts of what happened and then leave it there. This book had a good solid beginning middle and end. No cliff hanger. Even other books with no cliff hanger don't leave you so satisfied. Without giving away the details, the basics of this story, a young girl experiences some terrible things and sets out to make something of her life in relation to that as soon as she is old enough. As most know, one bad experience is never the end, the difference is how you deal with each bad experience and who you have with you to help you through. In this story the girl Parker happens to accidently find a young man name Ian and they seem really taken with each other. But like with any bad experience it's hard to escape your demons and there is the possibility that the person you find can't deal with your demons and who would want them to. In this story we follow her experiences with and without Ian and see whether or not she overcomes all the obstacles placed in her way. It's a very great written story and a great read. I highly recommend.

~~~~~~~~~~Sharlene's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
First off, I love the names of the main characters - Parker and Ian. Unusual but not weird and they go together so well just like the couple in the book. The characters are very well developed. I wouldn't classify Ian as an alpha but he is in no way a pushover either. He stands up for himself and for Parker on several occasions and is a true romantic. Parker is not your typical girlie girl either which just adds to her likability. The demon issue in the book is obviously well researched and thought out well. Although I did find it a little hard to swallow that Parker was so easily acceptable of the sexual side of the relationship given her background. However, when the author describes how comfortable she feels with Ian and only Ian, it made it a little easier to go with. Told in dual POV, there is much internal dialogue so you know exactly how each character is feeling and perceiving things. There is some repeating of same scenes which I felt bored with but I still love the dual POV. The scenes are pretty much all set very well including the sex scenes which are very hot. I felt the first chapter or two were a little slow but it quickly picks up after that and gains momentum. Easy to read, quick page turner.
This is a stand alone and does have an HEA
Let me just say that S.M. Stryker really put her heart and soul into this book. You can really feel it! The things that take place in this book (trigger warning)...the sensitive issues of sexual abuse--although it was a little unclear to me exactly what her perverted step/adopted father was doing to her (she was still a virgin, so I just assumed he was molesting/touching her). Anyway, I can only imagine what it must have been like writing this story--shedding of tears, breakdowns, and a lot of exhaling...
Even though the grammatical errors were very frustrating, and the editing needs a lot of work, all I can say now is that S.M. Stryker left me in a puddle of tears with Stolen Innocence. Damn, my heart broke every time for Parker and all the mess she went through. How much can one woman take?! Ugh! I need more tissues, please...😢😢
UPDATE: For some reason, my kindle account will not let me get the updated version (October 2018) of this story. I'm a little disappointed. I wanted to see how the added pages benefit this story.
