A taste of what’s to come...

This is a short romance. I was surprised at first to discover Lann and Katherines book will actually be book 3. This is the taste, the prequel before the main adventure.

It’s certainly done it’s job and left me wanting more.

We first met Lann in Pyromanist. And like everyone else I was intrigued by the Russian aeromancist.

Lann finds something in Katherine he’s never found before.

Then it happened.
She moved the air for him.
Sure as hell, the molecules around him starte

Charmaine Pauls has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Her writing is simply magical, haunting, and tugged at my heartstrings. I loved reading Aeromancist, The Beginning, which is the prequel to Lann and Katherine's story. It was unexpected, sexy, romantic, and heartbreaking. I can't wait to read their actual book. I loved that the focus was on the romance instead of the paranormal bits. I remember reading Joss and Clelia's book and meeting Lann there. He was quiet, solemn, and very diff ...more

My Review

We first met Lann in the previous book, He’s a pilot and Russian and his talent is air.
His moniker is the weatherman and his job comes with many associated risks.
These dangers mean he feels unable to offer more than a short interlude to any female regardless of his own feelings.
For this reason, when Katherine commands his attention he offers her a short term arrangement 30 days in his home and bed before he returns her safely to her previous life.

So though this series does have paranormal origi

After Pyromancist i couldn’t wait to hear Lann’s story, and i was thrilled to find the ARC of Aeromancist,The Beginning in my inbox.
To find out who he met, where, how and why she was special.
Only to find out i need more.....because it wasn’t enough!
But that was to be expected with the words The Beginning in the title, right?

Lann first notices Katherine at the airstrip.
She just landed after a flight with another pilot.
When she passes him,he is stunned by the effect she has on him.

Aeromancist, The Beginning is a prequel novel to the second book in the 7 Forbidden Arts series by Charmaine Pauls.

We first met Lann in Pyromancist, the first book in the series, he's a Russian pilot who has the ability to manipulate air and the water, and like Joss, he's part of a secret paranormal task force. But being a part of this society comes with a lot of risks, ones he's not willing to take for anyone, th

This has one of my favorite tropes and I wasn't expected that after reading book one. To me, this book felt very different. I am glad to see we will get a variety in this series. I also wasn't expecting it to end on a cliffhanger. If I had the next book, I would be starting it immediately because I am extremely intrigued by how the Hero will change his mind.

The first book had a darker tone to it and to me this one wasn't dark at all. It has that rich man/poor girl flavor to it, you know there is

Aeromancist, The Beginning is a prequel novel to the second book of the series. I would suggest not reading this novel if you haven't read the series because I was heavily confused. But, it was extremely great at the same time if you don't care about the back story of the characters.

From my understanding, Lann the main character has some sort of power relating to weather and planes. That is as far as the author goes to explain him to new readers. I never really grasped what he could do, but it s

Aeromancist, The Beginning, is a beautifully written contract love affair novella.

Lann Dréan is a wealthy businessman with a dangerous and murky background, who has purchased an ancient Chilean monastery to pursue his passion for old books. He is in the process of painstakingly repairing and refurbishing each delicate volume, with the intention of making the priceless treasures available to the public, when he spies a lovely redhead who has come to his library to research her doctoral thesis. Five darkly sensuous stars!

What a great start to Lann and Kat’s story! This absolutely sizzles with raw need and sensuality as this couple engage in a short term agreement.

There are tiny clues (leading to what, I don’t know) dropped along the way and the potential for drama is hinted at as the promise for more between them is held just out of sight. When I reached the end, I wanted to throttle this author for leaving me craving, wanting, needing. Just because I knew this was a cliffhanger, doe

I was gifted my copy direct from the author.

Lann is an aeromancist, he controls the air. He hides for a month or two, in Santiago, with his previous books, and the solitude. When Katherine visits his library for her thesis work, she literally moves the air for him. He thought it a myth amongst his kind. When Lann offers Katherine 30 days to be at his beck and call, she doesn't refuse, but wonders will she ever be able to give him up??

Aeromancist: The Beginning is a prequel to what it will be a full lenght story. But let me tell you that if this is the beginning, OMG! I can't imagine the rest. This was a hell of a ride, full of emotion, tension, sexiness and romance.

This is the story of Lann Dréan, a sexy Russian who bought an ancient convent in Santiago (Chile) meant to be his refuge for a month. Then appear Katherine, an american student who uses his library for investigation purpose. When these two meet, s

This is the second book in the Seven Forbidden Arts series. I loved it!

Lann Dréan is a complex character. I liked this man very much. He can come across as cool and aloof at times but, this hides his deeply felt emotions. He knows that if he lets his emotions out, his ability to control air could cause serious damage. He is intrigued with Katherine White, who visits the ex-convent (now Lann's home) looking for research material for her thesis. Determined to learn more about her, he dangles the o

Lann Drean is supposed to be cloned and on everyone woman's front door step. I keep opening the door but he's still not there. Darn it.

Pauls continues her elaborate tale of paranormal bad boys in her Seven Forbidden Arts series. It started with Pyromancist, the story of a firestarter and now, it careens into the life of Lann, the aeromancist (the power to manipulate air and weather). The Beginning tells us the start (obviously) of Lann and Katherine's relationship - oops, sorry, I mean 30-day contract. I'm not sure who Lann is trying to convince when he says it will only be for this amount of time, but I didn't believe him!

The relationship between Kat and Lann was instantly hot, but I loved that Kat was a strong female from the start, and wasn't just going to give in without at least a token resistance! There is plenty of steam within these pages, so be prepared for some hea

This is book two in the “7 Forbidden Arts” series and is a prequel to the “Aeromancist.” These books are all stand alone books but they intertwine. This is labeled a novella but to me it was a full length book.

First of all, when the heroine described Lann my mind was blown I totally pictured him as something else. But as the book went on he was exactly what she said. The little bit we saw about him in book one gave you no clue of the man he is.

So this is the beginning of Lann and Ka
