This is most comprehensive guidance for HOA Board Directors (and HOA members who want to understand more about what they have entered into) that I have found. Other good books focus on the condo laws of one state or on Robert’s Rules of Order. This book delves deeply into budgeting, operations, and communications. It is the only one that explains how the IRS handles an HOA’s income and tax ability, and offers alternatives to treat non-property income and amenities to avoid it being taxed. Very readable. Dry material is presented in an engaging manner.
Helpful resource for getting started with HOA business. It provided a good framework for success and additional information on key issues. Short read too!
