This book crossed over my own comfort line in several areas. First, the relationship is built on very shaky foundations. Neither character shows actual integration of true faith with real life. It is incongruent to pray for God's blessing and then go on stage to promote lust as you sing and dance provocatively. Second, I was disturbed by Alex's adult-rated songs being marketed to teens and his cross-over celebrated with awards. Then there are the "love scenes"...I realize they were married, but ...more

Actual Rating: 4.5

This was a great read. This was my first series that had themes of the Amish lifestyle. I have to say that this book had me hooked from the first page. I loved how Sarah Price incorporates Faith into her books. It made me love the story more. This book was the marriage of Alejandro and Amanda's love story.

They were great characters. Alejandro "Viper" Diaz is a Cuban singer who is known for his bad boy image.

It is very unusual for me to read two books straight off in a trilogy without having a break, but this is the first time that I have read three in succession. That sums up as to how much I really enjoyed reading about Amanda and Viper and it was a shame when I came to the end.

I rarely write what a story is about for fear of spoiling for others. All I will say is that I shall certainly be reading more novels by Sarah Price. Highly recommended to all who enjoy Amish fiction.

This was my favorite book in the trilogy. This book had a smoother, more fluid writing style than the other two in the trilogy and moved at a pace that was just right for the story. I liked the sense of "realness" to this story. The two characters are from very different lives and in this book those differences really come to light. I felt a connection to the characters in this book that I hadn't in the other two. I found myself hoping they would be able to solve their differences and have their ...more

I won this Free book through Goodreads first -reads. A young woman from the Amish marries a Cuban super star. It's a big adjustment. She is shunned by a lot of the women in Her community. She leaves the Amish and tours with her new husband. She becomes popular too. Every one wanted her picture. Their relationship had their ups and downs. She and her husband are adjusting to their new life together.

This series really should be televised!

Sadness almost always becomes a great joy. Don't ever think they fail to thank God for all of His goodness that has been bestowed upon them.

Realizing that entertainers live differently from the Amish is an understatement.

I could not put these books down until they were finished.

Alejandro's past starts becoming a problem in this one, and it made me question his motives sometimes. full review coming soon.

Please note that this is the third book in this series, and it follows on directly from the end of the previous book. This review will contain spoilers if you haven’t read the first two books in this series. That said, I do not suggest you read this series unless:

1. You are fine with a hero whose professes to have faith in God, but whose music contains explicit and immoral lyrics (the lyrics are never detailed in the books, but are described several times in these terms);
2. You do not mind that

Although all the books are slow, with a lot of repetition (would make a great soap opera or telenovela), book 3 is the one that almost caused me to give up mid-way. It seemed to be going nowhere. After some rest I picked it up again and was rewarded with a fairly interesting final 10-15%. I listened to the audio version of the books and the narrator was very good with the voices and accents, which made them a lot more tolerable than if I had read them, I think, and kept me entertained during sev ...more

"Plain Again" is the third installment of the Plain Fame Series by Sarah Price. It is the immediate sequel to "Plain Change" which left the newlywed protagonists, Amanda Beiler Diaz and Alejandro (Viper) Diaz, facing forces that threaten their union just weeks into their marriage. Alejandro, a hip hop superstar, had plans for taking Amanda along on his tour. These plans have come to naught when Amanda returns to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, to aid her Amish family in a crisis. Her father had ...more

This was a good book.
Only weeks after being married, Amanda is back at her parents' farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to tend to her ailing father while Alejandro is back on the road performing for his adoring fans. How will time and distance impact their relationship? Will the demands of his fans overshadow his love for Amanda? And how will the Amish community react to Amanda's presence (along with the return of the paparazzi) in their community? An Amish Christian Romance that will leave

Plain Again by Sarah Price is the third book in her Plain Fame series. Amanda Beiler Diaz has had to return home to Lititz, Pennsylvania to take care of her sick father as well as the farm. Alejandro is not able to come with her. He is preparing for their South American tour with rehearsals and media interviews. Alejandro has hired help for the farm as well as arranging for a nurse and physical therapist for when Mr. Beiler returns home. Alejandro is miserable without Amanda, but she does not fe ...more

Keeping a reader hooked throughout a series is no easy feat, but author Sarah Price does it and does it well. Plain Again, the final book in her Plain Fame trilogy picks up precisely where Plain Change left off. It doesn't miss a beat. As soon as you read the first words, you get transported right back into the story as if you never put the other book down. Only a great writer can make that happen, and Sarah is definitely a great writer.

After a quick marriage and then Amanda going home to take care of her Dad and the family farm they are now separated by not just a few city, they are now very bicoastal and Alejandro is not liking it one bit. With his working having him all over the place it seems that the time to talk to his new wife seems less and less. I had the privilege to read an advanced copy of Plain Again by Sarah Price and I quite possibly have never been more excited to read a book as I was for this one. I have no qualms by picking favorites among all the books that I am blessed to review because when a book is as good as this one, well I think it’s my duty to tell as many readers as I can. The characters seem to have taken on a life of their own among Amish fiction fans. I suspect we all feel a connection with Amanda and Alejandro due ...more

"Plain Again" by Sarah Price is another five star book! No surprise for Sarah's Price fans!

This is a series for lovers of Amish fiction and those who like clean romance and love stories!

"Plain Again" is the third book in the "Plain Fame Trilogy". This book picks up where book 2 ends. Amanda is at her parents Amish farm in Pennsylvania to help her mom and dad after her father's accident.

Alejandro, aka Viper, is still performing and doing guest appearances and interviews.

Each of these books seems to cover so much more time than it really does. In a manner of months we have a Cuban Hip Hop star & an Amish girl who have met, married, & experience more life together (for very short periods of time) than most can or will in a whole lifetime yet.... it's not enough. With this book we find Amanda & Alejandro separated again. He, on the road and she back in the heart of Amish country trying to take care of her family.

Life on the road is really not for Aman

This book did everything it needed to do as the third book in the series!

It continued to draw us in to Alejandro and Amanda's world/s and to hold us there. It dealt out uncertainty, and the suspense that goes with that; it had a few unexpected plot twists; it tied up a number of "loose ends" and situations where I for one wanted to know "what happened with that person?"; and finally, it provided resolutions that could have gone any of a number of ways but were, in the end, both believable and s

Sarah Price has done it yet again.....she has written an absolutely breathtaking romance! Amanda is just like an Amish Cinderella, if such a thing exists. Alejandro is her very own Prince Charming. When Amanda's daed suffers a massive stroke, leaving him paralyzed on one side, Amanda feels duty bound to return home to help them on the farm. She doesn't want Anna to leave Ohio when she is so close to realize the dream of her own marriage. But who returns with her? The paparazzi, of course.....and ...more

I want to send my thanks to Sarah Price, author and to Goodreads First Reads Giveaway for my copy of Plain Again that I won in the Giveaway.

Alejandro is out on tour when Amanda returns to her parent's farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania when her father becomes hospitalized. She is working the farm to help her parents and missing her husband.

The final book in the trilogy of Amanda and Alejandro. I did not like this book as much as the first two. I probably would have rated it a 3.5. I would have liked to have an epilogue 5 years down the road. This book seemed very superficial. Amanda gave up everything for her love of Alejandro. I understood her quote there is cultural part of being Amish and another part spiritual. But she easily gave up both ..which as a young woman in your 20's may be easy especially when you are exposed to an e ...more

Continuing off from Plain Change, Amanda struggles with Alejandro's fame and notoriety. When she must return home to the family farm because of her father's illness, she worries about the separation from Alejandro.

What I found most enlightening was Amanda's response and impressions to once again return to her Amish roots, after having lived so much in the world. Her awareness at the darkness inside her parents home because of no electricity, for example. Her gratitude that her husband offered f

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this SERIES "'The Plain Fame Trilogy'".
FYI, Us, reader, fans on facebook with Sarah talked her into writing a FOURTH book to the series.

Series is about Alejandro Diaz, aka "Viper", a famous Cuban singer, crosses paths with Amanda Beiler, an Amish girl, in the middle of NYC, the beauty begins. Alejandro's world becomes Amanda's, and Amanda seeks her own path in the light of Alejandro.

In this book, only a few short weeks after their marriage, Amanda is back in Lancaster County,

Book three of the series, and I still feel like it should be a single book. This third part of the story takes Amanda through the early weeks of her marriage to Alejandro. She begins to get used to some of the Englishe ways, but feels duty bound to return home to help her family look after the farm as her father recovers from his recent stroke.
It's an easy read, but doesn't feel like this part is really Amish based. This may not be so much of an issue if it had been part of one longer book. Lik

Recommends it for: Christian Fiction / Amish Fiction Fans
Following a whirlwind couple of months traveling with Viper and learning the ways of the Englische, plus an unexpected wedding, Amanda must return to Lancaster County to take care of the family farm for her ailing father. For newlyweds Amanda and Alejandro, the separation is difficult, but for public figure “Viper”, the timing is all wrong. What follows is all of drama of Hollywood coupled with the heartbreak of new love being separated by distance, culture and even the very people they trust. I ...more

I started and finished this book in one day because I COULD NOT put it down! I usually never finish a book so quickly, but the story of Amanda and Alejandro had me entranced and I wanted to see what happened next. Their story is sweet and I think someone else's comments about the "love" scenes was out of line. In keeping with the book being a Christian book Sarah Price doesn't go beyond the couple kissing. She lets you figure out what happened next. In keeping with an exciting book, we go throug ...more
