Lone Wolf Lawman by Delores Fossen is a 2015 Harlequin Intrigue publication.

I received this book from Harlequin as part of their ‘Ambassador’ program, which was very exciting, and I felt honored to have been a participant in such a generous promotion.

Addie Crockett has had a few major shocks come her way in quick succession. First, she discovers her biological father is a serial killer. Secondly, the Texas Rancher working undercover, who was trying to catch him, took advantage of Addie’s vuln

I received this book for free from Harlequin.

Wow. This book was just full of surprises. I didn’t expect this to be this good. I was hooked from the very beginning.

The story was so fast paced and there were so many twists and turns. Pretty much every chapter had some major bombshell thrown in. The only things I didn’t like was that it was a bit unrealistic and (view spoiler)

Side note: The whole serial killer thing kind of reminded me
Good book with lots of action. Addie recently discovered that her biological father is a serial killer, something that has turned her life upside down. Three months earlier, right after she found out, she had a one night stand with a rodeo cowboy and is now pregnant with his baby. Then that same cowboy breaks into her house and she finds out that he's not a cowboy, he's a Texas Ranger. He's determined to catch the killer, and she's his only link.

Wes hadn't planned to sleep with Addie that night

I don't expect much from a Harlequin book but this one just rubbed me the wrong way.

A called B to tell B and C that D called A about a call D got from E and F.

Phone calls- that's a third of the book (the root word 'call' is used over 125 times in the book) and how the plot is pushed forward in this "mystery thriller romance." The real mystery is how this book managed to get so many 4 and 5 star reviews.

Other than the phone calls, another third of the book is dedicated to the myriad of characters

This is a very interesting read and is going to be an outstanding series as the author takes you on the hunt for a serial killer. This is full of twists and turns as the author grabs your attention and doesn’t let it go. It is full of mystery not only of who the killer is but why others are dying and who is hiding secrets and for what reason. Someone wants Addie dead she is being hunt down and shot at for the secrets she may hold to what happen many years ago. If these things are found out it co ...more

Holy Whiplash Batman! The action in this story rushed at me so fast and furious that I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to keep up with the goings on. Delores Fossen is an expert at writing stories with lots of action and suspense. She sure doesn't hold back on any of that in her latest treat for her readers, Lone Wolf Lawman (Appaloosa Pass Ranch #1).

We are introduced to the hero and heroine at the beginning of the story by witnessing a rather terse reunion between Addie Crockett and Weston

3.5 Stars!!

Lone Wolf Lawman is the first book in the new Appaloosa Pass Ranch series. The series is off to a great start, the characters are interesting and there's a great plot that's full of twists, turns, danger, and romance.

The story focuses around Addie, who has only recently discovered that she is pregnant by the man who seduced her and then disappeared. Later she learns she doesn't even know his real name, and then she is told her

I have to admit that my experience of this book was colored by the narrator. I've never listened to one of these before, but I love audiobooks in general, so when I had the chance to hear this one essentially free, I gave it a try. The book takes place in Texas, and the narrator used such thick accents for some of the main characters that they sounded like hillbillies - not educated professionals. Also, one of the men sounds exactly like a woman I know from West Tennessee, so I suspect the accen ...more

This was the first book I've read by Delores Fossen and I really enjoyed it. I don't usually read romantic suspense that often, but it got my attention and kept my attention. I started out with a somewhat hidden pregnancy and a serial killer all in about the first 15 pages or so! Okay, here we go! There's all sorts of stuff going on in this book! If you like action and suspense, this is definitely one you should try. I will be sure to try more from Ms. Fossen. ...more

Possibly the worst book, story and writing, I’ve ever read. Seriously. I’d like the 90 minutes spent reading it added back to my life bank, please.

I enjoyed this author's Sweetwater Ranch series, so when I found this book on Net Galley, I immediately requested a copy for review. The story focuses around Addie who has not only discovered recently that she is the biological daughter of a serial killer but had also found out she is pregnant by the man who seduced get for there glorious nights then left her without even his real name. With the help of her family, she is making the best of it until Wes, her former lover, shows up out of the blu ...more

This book was really well written, and holy crap did this book take you for a ride. I loved that this book had so many twists and turns, and how it evolved throughout the whole book. Weston is a badass guy who lied to the one person who he thought he could settle with in his search for justice. Addie is the daughter of the moonlight killer who murdered many, including someone important to Weston. When these two met, their lives erupted. The first time, a baby was created. The second time, they r ...more

Lone Wolf Lawman by Delores Fossen – I have become a fan of several of Harlequin Intrigue books and authors. Delores Fossen is one of the authors. Lone Wolf Lawman is the first book in the new Appaloosa Pass Ranch series. The series is off to a great start. The characters are interesting, the back story is worked into the story line and the plot is full of twists and turns. Along with the danger there is a nice romance. One couple finds their HEA while others are in the backgound waiting their t ...more

Lone Wolf Lawman by Delores Fossen is a wonderful romantic intrigue story. I loved the characters! They were easy to understand, like,  and had me cheering for them. The bad guys were believable too. My only complaint was how fast a character appeared and then, just as quickly disappeared without knowing what happened to him. That part is driving me nuts. At first, I thought, well maybe, I went through the book too fast. So, I went back and still couldn't find him...I wanted to cry out in frustr ...more

Intriguing premise, but the execution didn’t work for me, this is best suited to readers who favor action over character.

Addie’s three night stand of months earlier, Weston, shows up at her home claiming someone is trying to kill her, that someone just might be Addie’s biological dad, a yet to be identified serial killer.

There’s quite a number of shootouts in this book, and I did think they were solidly written, although I questioned why they transported Addie as often as they did, if you are an

Suspenseful, action and romance rolled into one.

This is the first installment in the Appaloosa Pass Ranch series and I have to say that I loved it and I can’t wait to read the other books in this series. This book had everything that I love in a story. This was a true page turner. I wanted to know who was trying to kill Addie. Her story was very sad and she was able to learn a lot about her family history.

Addie and Weston had a wonderful three days but then he disappeared and now he is back in h

This was my first Delores Fossen book but will by no means be my last. This was a romantic suspense, heavy on the suspense. The action starts on page one and doesn't let up until the end. (A true page-turner!) Weston Cade shows up unexpectedly (and not very welcome) to warn and protect Addie against a serial killer who has his sights set on her. Unfortunately, Weston and Addie first met 3 months ago, when they had a heat-filled 3 days and Weston then disappeared. Both are obviously quite attract ...more

The book blurb caught my attention and helped me decide to read this book. I found that it was good mystery story with a touch of romance. Why just a touch of romance? Because they were really busy running for their lives. There was plenty of action, red-herrings and emotions in this book. Which makes for a lot of twists and turns too. Even after getting an inkling of suspicion about one person in particular, that didn't really help . Because I was never sure when there would another attack, how ...more

I received five copies of this book free to share with my friends and this I will do. This was the first book I have read by Delores Fosson and it will not be my last. This was a very interesting story but there was so much going on that if it had been filled out a little more, it would have been a longer book. The story was about a young girl who had been adopted when she was three by a family with four boys. They took good care of Addie but when she got pregnant and they did not know who the f ...more

Lone Wolf Lawman (Appaloosa Pass Ranch #1) by Delores Fossen

This book caught me on the first page and kept me going. I did not want to stop reading it. I tend to really like suspense type of books, but not many get me from page one. I do think that it could have been awesome if this book had started out when Addie and Wes first met - after her doing hypnosis the first time, as I feel like that could have helped with the backstory and it was certainly relevant. This book has suspense, and romance

I only got through 4 chapters of this audio book. I just couldnt do it. The writing seemed to be done by an amateur. It felt choppy and stilted. The heroine Addie is so mad at Weston and I get it to a degree. He took advantage of her but at the time she didn't know that he was lying about who he was. She's the one that slept with him right of the bat and then shes shocked when he leaves. Really?!?! It was a 1 night (well 2 night stand) and what she expected a happily ever after? Maybe get to kno ...more
WOW! What a great story. I mean every time you think you know what's happening, the story surprises you with another twist. I can't wait to read more about the Crockett family and catch up with all the characters in the next book. I'm not a total fan of the narrator but, since I've already read the book of this story and liked it, I was able to soldier through and listen to the whole story. My main tiff with the narrator was her choice of voices for the character and the staccato way all the mal ...more

It's very fast paced, with lots of twists, and it kept me guessing. I feel like there were a few loose ends/mysteries though at the end, but hopefully they'll be addressed in the next book. Delores Fossen writes and intense and action packed suspense story. Lone Wolf Lawman is also a second chance romance and unexpected pregnancy. The Moonlight Strangler is the biological father of the heroine Addie Crockett and Weston Cade is a Texas Ranger trying to arrest him. He fears that the Strangler intends that his daughter be his next victim. Finding out she is pregnant with his child complicates his plan to use her as bait. This was a page turner of a story.

Loved this book! It keeps you guessing the whole time you’re reading. By the end you’re going to want to throw the book but it’s a good throw because it’s that great. Sets up the rest of the books nicely. Also leaves you with lots of questions but it’s a good thing. Can’t wait until I can get the rest of the books in this series!
