The sophisticated cuisine of Japan made easy for the home kitchen.

In Japanese Home Cooking, the techniques and ingredients of Japanese cuisine are explained clearly, thanks in great part to the many step-by-step photos. It omits nothing, from cooking rice to dressing a Japanese table.

The book is the ideal guide for cooks new to Japanese cuisine, as well as those with

I haven't yet cooked with this book. But from looking at it, it's a very beautiful book. It's well written. The pictures make you want to make every recipe. It gives great detailed instructions with pictures to match. It has easy as well as more difficult recipes. It also has a good range of types of foods. Everything from soups to desserts. I really can't wait to cook out of it. Yes, I would recommend this book to friends.

The pictures alone make this book worth looking through. The food looks SO dang fancy and tasty.

Every recipe is step by step, and many contain pictures with the instructions so you won't get confused. Be prepared to hit the Asian market, though, as a lot of these require things you probably won't have in your kitchen already.

Gorgeous book, beautiful large pictures with easy to step by step instructions. Everything is broken down simply and explained including a little background and info in the dish. Could not recommend this more to any level of cook looking for Japanese recipes.

I was intrigued by the description of this cookbook-how-to by a tease from Netgalley (the book would not download) and gifted it to myself for my birthday last week. My children and I have learned a few tricks from Malay and Chinese family members, a little Korean, but this book provided a whole new background of hints and tips to simplify and authenticate the Japanese, Guamanian and Malay dishes we love. Thank you Chihiro Masui for sharing your knowledge with us. NOODLES!

Beautiful photography and well-written. Japanese Home Cooking is more than a cookbook. Introduced with history, trivia, and even language lessons, this would make a great gift/coffee table book too. Recipes are broken down into easy to make steps. Even a beginner will enjoy making these dishes in their own kitchen.
