I added this series to my book list after reading a wonderful review by my friend Cindy, but since I'm unconfortable with the BDSM, that is heavy here, I was postponing and postponing... what an idiot I have been!
It is heavy in BDSM, but the story is so interesting and intriguing that I devoured the pages (I must admit that I skipped a lot where BDSM was too heavy *blush*).
The action is at the same time slow and fast, but really, really interesting!
I have a small thing that made me cringe: the name of the heroine - Sadie Bonds! OMG, it is tailor-made for a book with BDSM!!! It's like the author wanted to stress her sexual preference: Sadie - for Marquise De Sade, and Bonds - for bondage!
But that not the only wink-wink thingy with names here: the hero's surname Reed, also refers to BDSM!!! I'm wondering if Colton has also some such reference, but since English is not my mother-tounge I'm unable to find out! ;)
That was very lame in my opinion! I would prefer if they had normal names without any reference whatsoever!
The story is a hunt for a truly vicious and twisted, but at the same time intelligent and smart serial killer! This sick and twisted person is very present here and he's like a coductor who leads all the other characters in his twisted opera. And, thing that I love in suspense, we get to see his POV!!!
The other characters, Sadie, Colton, Quinn, Avery, Carson are giving chase, but while Sadie has the most insight, all the others are blindsighted by him and his machinations!
Be aware that this book end with a huge cliffhanger and you need to start reading the next one as soon as you finish this one! :)
On to the second book!
