This book is full of wonder for the everyday phenomena of life. Collection opener "The Magnificent" follows the morning of a retired magician as he meanders through his suburban neighborhood in search of his wife's stolen rose bush. It's a set up for a low-stakes mystery of sorts, but what surprises me as a reader is just how this story ends up unfolding. This collection is a page turner. Tager takes you through a whirlwind of emotions, relationships and situations that have you begging for more. This collection is one you'll find yourself going back to over and over again. Definitely one for the bookshelf!
