“When my clothes are on, I’m the sharpest guy in the room, and once they’re off, I’m the kind of man who will make you feel like you’ve only fucked boys before.”
“I’m a ‘never-see-you-again’ guy. A one-ride-ticket. You don’t go to Niagara Falls or the pyramids every day, but you remember them forever. That’s what I offer. An unforgettable night, and a taxi ride home.”

“You’ve got to be able to turn yourself on. If you want to fuck somebody else really well, then you’ve got to know how to fuck yourself.”

“Sex doesn’t start and stop in the bedroom. Sex is happening all around you. It’s a dance. The world is full of it. It starts when you decide what to wear in the morning. It’s there when you exchange a look with a stranger. The way you walk, the way you talk, the places you go and the things you do.”

“Perfect… is a moment. Not a life. Perfect comes, and it goes. Perfect is a moment. It comes, you make the most of it, and then you let it go.”

Jax Wilder. The devastatingly beautiful man with the sharp suit and sharper lines. The alpha who walks with a swagger that could only come from a body as sculptured as his. The mouth of a wise-ass in the body of a caveman.

You owe it to that amazing body of yours to give it to someone who knows how to make the most of it.

I mean, looked at you. Your shoulders are hunched forward, you're clutching yourself like it's the middle of winter, you're pulling on your skirt like it's an emergency stop. Your balance is all over the place. Are you wearing those heels, or are they wearing you?
"You're pretty funny for a girl who's so hot."
"You're pretty hot for a guy who's so rich,"

Let me tell you something. I can tell how a woman fucks by the way she moves; you can tell how a man handles business between the sheets by the way he walks.
“Jesus Christ. Where is your ass? I know you have one. These panties don’t. It’s like a magic trick. Wow. To put these panties, on that body; it’s like graffiti on a Michelangelo.”

Jax was a cocky son of a b*tch. He was hot and he knew it. He made absolutely no apologies about the kind of guy he was. His confidence was almost aggravating at times but it so worked for him and I totally fell for it. Let me take a slight detour, I read a magazine article one time, cannot for the life of me remember who was being interviewed, but I remember them saying they had “weapons-grade charm”. This phrase is perfect for Jax. He had weapons-grade everything, looks, charm, professional talent, and skill in the bedroom. He was truly a force to be reckoned with. It was one of the things I loved most about him, and one of the things I loved most about Lizzie was that she wasn’t trying to tame Jax, she just wanted him to impart some of his wisdom.
Lizzie was this girl who was confident but she didn’t show it at first. She started out meek and stifled by the dead-end relationship she was in but Jax was able to help awaken her confidence. She needed him to remind her a few times that she was worth more than what she was selling herself for but eventually she let her confidence in herself fully set in and she was able to own her personality and her body with no reservations.
While Lizzie and Jax didn’t know each other for very long (I think somewhere around a week) they were able to develop a pretty solid friendship, they had this great effortless banter that, I will admit, made me slightly envious. They executed their non-relationship pretty flawlessly for most of the book. I loved how much of Jax’s point of view we got in the book, and his POV was really well done. Fair warning, this ends with a cliffy!!
I would definitely read more from this author, and I’ve already devoured the second book! If you are looking for something funny and sexy definitely check this book out.
