I have a very old edition of this with a blue cover, which was originally my dad's, but he let me have it when I was about 7 or 8 and first started learning music in the juniors at primary school! I guess he figured it was of more use and relevance to me than it was to him. He was right. :)

Very informative book, mostly easy to follow with plenty of illustrations. For anyone who wants literally an introuction to music.

One of the most beautifully written books on the staff's "grammar structure". A real joy for both musicians and amateurs.
