RIVETING AND REVEALING!

The past stands between them, but a strong abiding love bridges the gap.

Violence and crime intrude on the quiet town of Gibbs City, Missouri when a citizen does the unthinkable, but Sheriff Virgil Carter is determined to uphold the law at all cost.

Cora Williams reaches out to an abused child whose tiny heart is capable of great love and innocent acceptance. Cora must decide if she can tear down the invisible walls she’s erected to protect herself and love greater than her fear.

There is no sorrow love cannot heal and no challenge that does not bow to an act of courage.

Love often comes like sleep, softly, quietly and unexpectedly. You just have to close your eyes and dream.

I'm an ex-navy wife who has travled around a lot. For years I studied my craft before jumping into the publishing pool. I love suspense and comedy.

I look forward to interacting with my readers.

This is a good example of the sophomore slump in a series. Everything I loved about the first book was overdone. The romantic angle is completely overlooked in favor of a plot concerning an abused child. I'm not sure I'll be continuing .

Great read

The only problem is you have to keep buying the next book to find out what the ending is I would prefer it end in one instead of leaving you hanging.

'I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review'

Cora has started to make herself and her nephew a home. But there are things that are going on in the small town she has made her home and although she does not want any trouble she cannot sit back and let the injustices happen. Cora, Virgil and some of her new friends help an abused child that she has become close with any way that they can. But Cora's past is catching up to her because the warden and the guards at the prison don't want her talking about what happened there.

Then there's Virgil. She doesn't want to love him but she does, but she can't bring herself to do anything about it. Too much happened to her in the past and she just wants to raise her nephew in peace.

My Opinion:

This is another 5+ star book for me. I am absolutely in love with this series. I hang on every word. This series is probably one of the most emotional and well written that I have read. I definitely recommend reading. You have to start with book 1. This series has to be read in order.

I started the series with the book 1 and during the night I purchased book 2. I started reading right away and now I've finished this book. I love the small cozy town where the story takes place. Well rounded characters and a great story! Some secrets are come out at the end of this book. I can't wait to read book 3!

Great read

I loved the story line but, this could have been done just a few books. No way will I pay another dime to read anymore of her books. I did not even finish this series. This author is a rip off. How decitful.

Even better than the first...

Great book. The story just keeps getting better, and it's a very easy read yet suspenseful enough at the same time. Lots of emotion but leaves you feeling good in the end.

Good Read

Again this was a great read but it was too short and the end is supposed to leave you dangling. They want you to go buy the next one. These would make a good movie series.

Love the book, but

Love the book. But it's not a series and I can't see spending money on a few chapters at a time.
