Delaney has worked hard to prove that she is good enough to be one of the elite bodyguards, and deserves her spot on the team. Yet none of her coworkers take her seriously. She finally gets an opportunity to work an actual case and she dives right into it, wanting to be the best. But her assignment is Jax Shields, bad boy billionaire hotel owner, who doesn't want a female to be his bodyguard.

Jax saw something he shouldn't have and now has some very bad people after him. Not having the time to be looking over his shoulder for a threat, he hires the best bodyguard company to protect him. But when he saw Delaney walk into the office and get introduced as one of his new protectors he thought it was a joke. He doesn't want a female as his bodyguard and from Delaney, all he wants his her in his bed.

Hard to Forget started off a little iffy for me and at first I wasn't really liking the characters much. Jax was basically just a manwhore who slept around and was a chauvinist pig who didn't think a female was good enough to help him. There wasn't a connection between Delaney and Jax right away and it actually didn't even seem like they would ever get together. I was getting a little worried that this book wouldn't go well for me but it turned around.

It did get better, thankfully, and Delaney and Jax started to have more of a connection than just protector/protectee which I started to like. After the rough start we got to see how badass Delaney could be when she was in kickass mode, and I really liked seeing her prove to everyone around her that she could be just as good as them. Though, I also really liked that even with that hard side to her we still got to see the vulnerable side she had too.

Jax started to show his caring side as the story progressed and it made me like him more. At first I just thought he was this giant douche that didn't deserve to be happy, but he proved himself. He was also sexxxxay, ladies and he definitely added the smexy factor to this book.

Bottom line, this was a great book to wrap up this series and I'm so happy that I got a chance to read it. Yes, the beginning didn't give the best impression about the book but it picked up and became a lot more enjoyable. I can't wait for everyone else to read this one and I hope they like Delaney as much as I did.

I read many positive praises about Bella Jewel. I picked up Hard to Forget because I am very curious. After done listening to the Audio book, I have to say, I like it OK. It is very refreshing to have the character of bodyguard is a woman. A strong woman. Usually its the man who becomes bodyguard. I also like the heroine in this book which is very committed to her job and responsibility.

The plot and the twist is OK. Not too fast, and not too dragging. The smutt scenes are hot. So hot it steals the show. The chemistry between the Hero and the heroine is sufficient to make the pace interesting. Again it is very refreshing to read that the Hero to be saved by female bodyguard.

Overall I do enjoy this book OK.

After loving the first book in this series, Hard to Fight , and being disappointed by the second book, Hard to Break, I was a little afraid to pick up this book because I love Bella Jewel and her writing and I didn't want to be let down again...

description

But to my very pleasant surprise I almost immediately loved this book and read it in one stint :D

description

Delaney, a professional bodyguard and one badass chick, has to prove herself in front of her boss and colleagues because she wants to be taken more seriously and get a case all of her own.

description

So after beating her boss's ass her dream finally comes true...but she soon finds out that her case is actually bad boy billionaire Jax Shields that needs protection after being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Saying that Jax doesn't want her on his team would be an understatement...because this misogynistic jackass thinks because she's a woman she can't do a job in a men's world...but she proves him wrong by beating his ass :P

description

But you know what they say...there's a thin line between love and hate...so soon enough they are fighting between the sheets :D

description

I loved the fact that the story felt real despite the plot and all the characters behaved like any of us would do in those situations. Also the sex between them was...

3,5 Stars, almost 4.
Oh, how much i love this series. Although all the books are build around the same principal -women who despite the many difficulties choose "men dominated" professions and they succeed- every story is decidedly different from the previous and thank God they don't feel like a repeat. That applies to Hard to Forget as well, but here things are a little more fragile than i would have expected.

Delaney is a bodyguard that still has a lot to prove to herself and her colleagues, she is not 100% ready for her first mission and still doubts her abilities with no apparent reason. So yes, she has to overcome prejudice, suspicion and hesitancy firstly from within her heart and then the rest of the world. If i must be honest at first i wasn't sure if it would work, but i ended up loving this side of her character. Her journey is much more worthwhile that way.

As for Jax, i 'm still not sure of how i felt about him. He had a very warm and endearing personality at some points but the majority of his presence was filled with careless remarks, and a hard predisposition towards Delaney. I found it hard to like him but he had his moments. Maybe i would prefer a little more depth in his character. Well that partly happened when he re accounted how he ended up in such a dangerous position of needing bodyguards, but it wasn't enough.

The story was nice, with some solid smut, as always, compelling characters and a few well-placed suspenseful scenes but the main relationship wasn't explored in depth and that was the only minus for me. The writing was clever and the flow splendid, i read it in two hours straight without needing an intermission.

I really hope for a fourth book in this series, not only because of the running arc which is awesome by the way, but mostly cause of the lightness that exudes and the tough, straightforward heroines. I love them so much.

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK

- Nak was amazing, so supportive of Delaney.
- I liked her colleagues.
- Kyle had issues. If he really wanted something more he had a disturbed way of showing it.
- The triangle -Jax and his friends- was frustrating, almost sad.
- The "let's try and hide our relationship" game was entertaining.

I have already read several books from this amazing author and loved them all! This is the third book in this series and it’s a stand-alone. I haven’t read the previous 2 books yet but added them to my TBR list after finishing this one.

This book brings us the story of Delaney. A young woman with a dream. After witnessing a bodyguard saving his client’s at a young age, she knew that was what she wanted to do. But a woman in this industry isn’t easily accepted. She has to constantly prove her worth, fight against prejudices and has a hard job earning the respect from colleagues at Thorpe Security, clients, … Her first real assignment turns out to be a dangerous, challenging one. She has to protect her gorgeous, broody, frustrating, silent, possessive, sexy client Jax AND her heart!

I’m glad this wasn’t a case of insta-love and could really feel the chemistry between Jax and sassy, strong Laney.

The epilogue for this book was rather short. I would have loved a bigger insight in their future.

I loved this well written book with likeable characters and look forward to read more from this author. Maybe even a book about Nak (Laney’s boss) ;)

I m a lil disappointed :(

Delaney is a bodyguard an she as had to work her ass of to try an get the men to respect her some still don't but she wants to get a big job so she can prove herself to everyone who doubts her when a big jobs comes an her boss gives it to her her an another bodyguard she is delighted until she sees who she is guarding he is drop dead gorgeous an super sexy but Jaxson/Jax isn't happy about a woman bein his bodyguard so again she as to prove herself again by kickin Jaxson's ass an this did actually put a smile on my face :)

Delaney is a great character she as gone through quite a bit in her life but she doesn't let anything keep her down or stop doin what she wants she is totally a kick ass an I luv this about her Delaney's job is important to her so when Jax keeps giving her shit or when she does something wrong Ye she gets upset but she just brushes it off an gets her head back in the game

Jax is a very big hot sexy man an knows with woman an his career he runs a huge chain of hotels an as done really well for himself but when someone is threatening his life Jax can well look after himself he just needs another set of eyes so he can keep save he never expected Delaney bein that person Has is a very hard man to get to know but when he started getting to know Delaney they started getting closer they r both very protective people an both hate sharing so things aren't easy for these to

I was a disappointed with this book it was quite slow at the beginning but as the book got goin it got better an better it kills me 2 give any of Bella Jewels book only 3 stars but I don't do halves an I just couldn't give it 4 I did like the characters once these to sorted themselves out they were hot there sexy time was hot an once it started that was it they didn't stop the drama was good when the story got goin i just needed more to keep my attention in the beginning cause normally I can't put her books down I don't want to make this book sound crap cause it wasn't I did enjoy it I just have her other book high on my fave list an the 2 other books in this series were so good this is just my least fave :( xxx

I saw this book and could not resist as this author has such entertaining ideas! From MC rugged heroes to pirates she constantly gives readers new characters to cherish and here she's done it again. This time however Ms Jewel brings us a woman in a mans world as our heroine Delaney is a bodyguard. To get to where she is she isn't just as good as the guys but better although she might lack physical strength she makes up for it with tenacity, endurance and good old fashioned stubbornness! Delaney can and will prove herself but her first really big assignment will test her in ways she never expected!
Jax is a successful businessman but he just happened to have been in the wrong place at the worst possible time and now his life is in danger. Jax is no fool though and hires the best there is to watch over him but a female ? Well yes the 'girl' might act all tough but underneath it's obvious to Jax that Delaney is just a pussycat but this cat has claws and is about to show Jax ( and herself) just what her mettle is made of! Admiration doesn't quite cover what Jax feels though and this strong couple are about to face challenges they never expected as their two worlds collide with explosive results!
I loved the kick ass heroine and Delaney just keeps plugging away no matter what. She is determined, courageous and yet not hard boiled which the author cleverly shows right from the start with interactions with family. She makes mistakes but owns them and as the story progressed I was cheering for her!
Jax, now where do I begin? He starts out as an arrogant toad who you just want to slap but as he opens up his fierce spirit just kind of makes sense. To be frank he is a hunk with lots of dosh and very few friends that he can really trust so his brash manner does make sense. I will not lie at times he behaves like a total armpit but when he acquits himself he does so in spectacular style! This man loves to be in charge and although he might have to obey his bodyguards in some things there are times when, well you just have to read the book! The words kindle and melt spring to mind!
I read this book in one day so that might begin to express how hooked I was by it. If you like strong female leads then this ticks that box. Looking for an alpha male? Jax, Jax,, Jax well you get the idea. I was completely engaged throughout this story and although I felt the bad guys at times felt superfluous to the real story I nevertheless really enjoyed reading this book. Action, humour,heart with a dominating sexy alpha male who is challenged by a sassy , smart , independent woman. This worked as a standalone so what are you waiting for? Read this book and enjoy the ride!

Delaney has just completed training to become a bodyguard and is working for the top Security Company in the area when she meets Jax. He is wealthy businessman in need of security due to some recent threats. This will be the first job Delaney has taken lead on and isn’t completely confident in her ability to do the job, but is dying to finally be given a chance.

Delaney and Jax meet and it isn’t love at first sight, but the chemistry is there. Delaney knows she can’t act on her desires, it can cost her job and put Jax’s life in danger. I love a story of forbidden love and the sneaking around. It adds all this built in angst that I am absolutely addicted to.

Delaney and Jax together are definitely hot and I loved the sneaking around. I also love a stories with mystery and suspense, so this story really had all the traits I love in books. While I did really enjoy the story I expected to love it. I found the story to move slowly despite being suspenseful and short in length. I also found it to be over the top. Regardless, I enjoyed watching Delaney and Jax fall in love.

In this third installment to the Alpha's Heart Series, Bella Jewel introduces readers to a female bodyguard hired to protect a bad boy billionaire in Hard to Forget. Ms. Jewel intrigues readers with this unique premise of a female bodyguard named Delaney, who is working so hard to prove to herself and others that she is fit and right for this profession that has been mainly dominated by males. So when the opportunity to protect Jax Shields, a hotel billionaire, Delaney was more than excited to work on her first major assigned case but she gets a rude awakening when she discovers Jax is arrogant, pompous, and chauvinistic. Can Delaney prove to Jax that she can protect him from danger? Or will Jax constantly remind her that a woman can't do a man's job?

As much as I love and adore reading Bella Jewel's books, I found Hard to Forget to be just okay. I think the biggest factor for me not loving the book was the way Jax Shields was characterized. I couldn't for the life of me find his personality appealing. He was rude, arrogant, and chauvinistic. It was so hard to swoon for a dominating alpha hero who has this stubborn and set way of thinking. I think maybe I would have possible understand Jax's personality if the author explained what caused Jax to behave like that. And as for the chemistry of Jax and Delaney, it didn't feel as tangible and palpable. I'm so used to reading tangible passionate and deep connections from Bella Jewel and in this book, it lacked the sizzle for me to love Delaney and Jax.

This is the third and final book in the Alpha Hearts trilogy and it can be read as a standalone.

One of the things that I really liked about this series is that all of the heroines were strong willed, smart women who lived very much in a man’s world. Breaking down the stereotypes for women yet also turning heads.

In this book, Delaney, a bodyguard, is very much no exception. She’s constantly having to prove herself as a bodyguard as all of her colleagues are men and none of them, with the exception of her boss –Nak, thinks she can do it. So when she lands her first big job, protecting Jaxson Shields, hotel magnate and all around brooding hottie, she’s fears that she’ll screw up.

 photo hard to forget_zpscnaknppa.jpg

Jax is all Alpha and the thought of being protected by a woman, even a hot woman, doesn’t sit well with him. Of course, when push comes to shove, Delaney steps and does her job. Saves Jax’s life.

As Jax starts to see Delaney, the sexual attraction between these two heats up and the professional lines become blurred.

This was a quick, entertaining read. My only comment was that the story was predictable. There’s action, jealously, danger and some laugh out loud moments. Not to mention, Jax and Delaney are sexy and also sweet together.

This series just keeps getting better and better! I WANT MORE!!!

Delaney is a body guard. Yep, a woman in a man’s world. When she is finally able to prove herself and is put on a big case, she never expects things to get as out of hand—or as hot—as they do.

Jaxson is a rich guy who ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time, and is now in danger. When he hires body guards to help keep him safe, he doesn’t expect sass and love to be a part of the deal.

Bella Jewel knows how to write a kickass female lead. And Delaney is no exception. While she may not have the confidence right off the bat, she knows her shit and does what needs to be done. After a mistake, Delaney picks herself up and learns from it, making her (obviously) better than most men in the world. Jaxson maybe an alpha type, but Delaney is able to hold her own throughout the story and even ends up surprising herself.

Jaxson, swoon. Sigh. Eyelash flutters. Sigh. <<-- My emotions as I read the book. I feel like I need a Jaxson in my life. He can be an asshole, but he also knows when to back off or when a compliment is due. And when he compliments… Swoon. ~ Devlynn, 5 stars

OMG! I loved this book! I think it was my favorite of the three in this amazing series of strong women in men’s roles.

In Hard to Forget we meet Delaney, a bad-ass, feisty bodyguard. She is constantly trying to prove to the men on her team that she is as good as they are. With the support and help from her boss, she gets to do just that when she lands her first big case, Jaxson.

“Is that an ‘I forgive you tor trying to eat my penis’ gift?” I mutter.”

Jaxson is a rich, cocky playboy. He owns a hotel chain and lives to work. Unfortunately, being in the wrong place at the wrong time has him in a dangerous position and needing protection. He is one of the first to doubt having a woman as a bodyguard and taunts Delaney to know end.

“You’re not afraid of me, are you , kitten?”
“Afraid?” I snort. “I’ve seen more penises than I can count, thank you very much.”

Of course, the sexual tension builds between the two and finally explodes in a hot way! But is Laney willing to risk her job for a manwhore? Or will Jaxson change his ways? You will have to read this amazing book and find out! You will not be disappointed! It is funny, sassy, sexy, and full of action. I loved reading every minute and consumed it quickly! I can’t wait for more from Ms. Jewel! ~ Tiffany, 5 stars

~~~
I was (im)patiently waiting for this gem to hit my kindle and once it did, all bets were off. I had to read it immediately! I was not disappointed by the steam that escaped from my kindle. Nor was I surprised that the panting noises were, in fact, coming from me.
This is not a book you can sneak read while you're at work or your children's sport matches. Admit it, we all do it! This book is a shut your door, hunker down, grab the bottle and screw the wine glass kind of book. You'll want to read until The End is the only thing left in sight.
Hard to Forget was an action packed—in more ways than one—thrilling book that had me on the edge of my seat. It was written beautifully with just enough romance, sex and suspense that it wasn't over the top, but instead so dang engrossing! ~ Kelly, 4.5 stars
~~~

Jaxson Shields is a billionaire bad boy who managed to get himself in trouble. When Jax hires Thorpe Security and a body guard, he gets more than he bargained for when Delaney is assigned to his case. She’s a tall blonde with nice breasts and a slim but curvy figure. She’s the kind of chick men dream of. He's a dreamboat.

Delaney has fought to get a case of her own and be seen as one of the guys and able to work her own case… It seems as though everything that could go wrong, did with this one.

She saves him. He saves her. And repeat.

The sexual tension screams off the page from the very beginning and made me both want to throw my kindle and have sex with Jax myself. I mean seriously, a girl has needs! The supporting cast of characters was interesting to say the least. Communication is key and they weren’t aware of how to do it. That made for some frustration on my part, but hey, we can’t always like everyone, right?

Bella Jewel’s writing is flawless, her main characters are likable and fun! They are developed well and leave you wanting more. Basically, she’s always a sure thing in my book and this one wasn’t any different! ~ Heather, 4 stars

Delaney has been trying to prove herself to her male counterparts for years now. Being the only woman in a world filled of alpha males can be hard, especially when those men aren't the most supportive or helpful. She has to push past her own insecurities and those of her male co-workers daily. And when she is FINALLY able to take down her boss, she is assigned her first full-time case. Delaney is excited and nervous all at the same time, especially when she meets the man she is going to be protecting.

Jaxson Shields is in need of some protection. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time and now some people are after him. Jax is fully capable of taking care of himself in normal circumstances, but when these thugs are coming after him with guns, he knows better than to think he can do this on his own and hires protection. What he doesn't except is a woman to be assigned to him. He doesn't believe that a woman is capable of protecting him and continually lets Delaney know it. That is, until Delaney shows that she is just as capable as any man.

Delaney and Jax fight their attraction towards each other (Delaney for fear of losing her job, and Jax because he doesn't think he deserves someone like Delaney). But they can only fight each other for so long, especially as the tension and danger surrounding Jax gets more intense.

But will Delaney risk the career she has worked so hard for for a manwhore? Or will Jax show her that they are worth the risk?
I wish that we could of gotten Jax's POV throughout the book too. I think is would of added some depth to his character and made him seem like less of an ass for most of it. Also, I DESPISED Delaney's co-workers, Kyle especially. Couldn't stand him, and I wished that Delaney would of kicked him in the balls.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Sexy sweet read about two individuals that really just needed each other to have their backs!!
Delaney was just full of insecurities which her hardcore 'I can care less' exterior hid well..
And Jax just never had anyone really see him for who he really was..
I have to say there were some seriously hot scenes in this one...
I kept talking myself out of reading ahead - I needed to find out if they would ever get caught LOL..
A must read for anyone that follows this series even though they were all stand-alone's

The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between

The Good : I love the idea of a female bodyguard and this is the second one I’ve read this year. Actually I’ve been impressed with the concept Ms. Jewel has used for this entire series, selecting male dominated professions and using it as a showcase for romance. In this book, Delaney has struggled to be accepted in her position and finally completes the challenge to be allowed on her first assignment - protecting Jaxson Shields, millionaire hotelier and at first, gigantic a-hole.

The chemistry is good between Jax and Laney and the story moves along at a good clip. There’s some action, as Laney actually protects Jax from several attempts on his life and there was alot of time spent showing the daily routine of a bodyguard, which lent a bit of realism I appreciated.

The Bad : The first book in this series suffered from a seriously ditzy heroine and I’m glad Laney isn’t as ditzy. However, she’s also not that professional either. It was distracting and it felt like she was more lucky than skilled. I don’t need it to feel like a documentary, but I would have loved to have felt as if Laney was mentally tough and not so insecure. I would have loved to have seen her journey be more about other characters accepting her, and less about her believing in herself. Her confidence in her skills was pretty weak and it was just less than I hoped for.

Everything in Between : The rest of the story is fairly standard and enjoyable, although I would have loved to have seen more done with her co-workers (besides the obvious Kyle) and the villains, who were sparsely drawn. They served a purpose of putting the characters in danger, but nothing more than that and the stakes didn’t feel that high because you barely see anything of them.

I enjoyed it. I just needed a little more confidence in the heroine and I would have loved it alot more. I would still check out more in this series.

Delaney wanted to join the armed services but her eyesight, despite operations, put an end to those dreams. After witnessing a bodyguard protecting someone, her dreams changed and she has spent years training and trying to prove she’s as good as the next person in this male dominated role. After taking down her boss, she’s about to be given her first serious bodyguard role – and it sure is a serious one!

Jax Shields is a billionaire, manwhore, Elite hotel chain owner who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, witnessing something he shouldn’t and now his life in threatened. He doesn’t think Delaney is up to the job and makes his views very clear, even though she takes him down to prove her ability. Even with his life on the line, he’s still got a job to do and his security must not get in his way socially or in business.

This is a great story, with a very strong, feisty, determined heroine with a very soft centre and a billionaire, opinionated and equally determined alpha male lead who really doesn’t like the idea of having a female bodyguard to protect him. Add in some strident interactions, hot attractions, gunmen, assassination attempts and romance and you’re in for a real fast paced reading treat! There’s some steamy scenes and plenty of danger and I highly recommend this superbly crafted, enthralling tale to anyone who enjoys their romance action packed!

Many thanks to St Martin’s Press for inviting me to read and review an ARC of this novel and providing additional post materials in return for my honest review which is included in my blog post for this book.

5 Hard to forget this story***** stars from me

Love, love, love it!!! That was a great story for me not only be it's plot which i found it really interesting but also because the author shows that you SHOULDN'T underestimate a woman (because once she decides to do something she succeeds) like Delaney.

Delaney as a main character i can say is really bold not a career choice but also as a personality she shows that she is not weak (okay she is a person not a robot, she has weak moments..) but she doesn't show it in front her colleagues (men) and she tries to prove them that she is equal. Yeah i know maybe it's difficult for a woman to be a BODYGUARD!! yes that's right she is a bodyguard but she does it quite well for a newbie proving everyone wrong, including Jax her CLIENT .

About Jax there is no much to tell..He is the ALPHA, workaholic/sexy manwhore who speaks and you drool by Delaney's descriptions.
So it's hard not to fall for this as much as professional you try to be....and Delaney wasn't the exception. She fell for his goods,
the hard line was not to be distract because that would cause his life....

I particularly loved the action and the intensity in this plot...it was exquisite, at some point i felt that i was watching a movie. I
didn't realize when it finished, the author did a fantastic work!

Great mixture with a different plot, i really enjoyed it and i definitely recommend it to everyone!!!

Wow! This book was amazing! Yet again Bella Jewel creates a world that you never want to leave! Though the beginning was a little slow compared to the other two books, I still loved it. Once Delaney and Jaxson finally came to terms with each other, boy did things get interesting.

Delaney is a strong woman who is determined to prove that she is just as capable at her job as everyone else. She’s always had a rough road to travel, but she feels that that she’s made the right choice for her career.

She’s proved this to her boss, now can she prove this to her new client, the sexy as sin Jaxson Shields?

Jaxson is a very successful businessman who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He’s also very capable of taking care of himself, but he can’t be everywhere at once. He’s desperate and decided to hire a bodyguard. Never in his wildest dreams did he ever image that his bodyguard would be a woman! How can she protect him when he could snap her like a twig himself?

Once these two finally come to a truce, things really start to hit the fan. Not only that, the sexual tension between these two is off the charts. Delaney is determined to protect Jaxson with everything she has, but it’s so hard when he’s touching her in ways she hasn’t be touched in a long time. Not only that, she’s starting to see behind the mask he hides behind, and she really likes what she sees.

Their future is unknown until Jaxson Shields is safe. Once the danger is gone, what will Delaney decide to do?

I’ve loved this whole series, and I really hope this isn’t the end. It’s so nice to read a story about a strong woman who is able to take care of herself and not have to depend on a man to keep her happy. Bella did an amazing job with this story! As I said, the beginning was a little slower than the others, but once it picked up, you’re completely unable to put this book down! I’m excited to see what else Bella has in store for us!

3.5 stars

Hard to Forget was an OK read.

While I found the storyline entertaining I failed to connect with the characters.

Both Jaxson and Delaney annoyed me at different times. Jaxson was cold, rude and hurtful towards Delaney, he was such an ass. I'm not sure I ever really got past his behavior towards the her =/

Then there was Delaney, in the start I liked her, I admired her career choice and how strong she came across. Then I'm not sure what happened but she started to annoy me and I started to lose interest.
Because of this I could only give 3.5 stars, the drama was well written just wish the characters were more likeable.

This is a standalone with a HEA. Although it's titled under a series (Alpha's Heart), all three are standalones and the only connection is they are women working in a field that is traditionally male-dominated (bounty hunter, mechanic and now a bodyguard). I hate that I was hesitant starting all three of these, because I absolutely loved them all!

Delaney/Laney is no exception to how much I appreciated and liked these three heroines. Laney's male-dominated field is working as a bodyguard. Bella Jewel did an incredible job of creating a heroine who was strong, confident and feminine, but not a cocky or arrogant alpha. There are several scenes she perfectly illustrated Laney's insecurities and made her so real.

Although the story is only written from Laney's pov, I was also drawn to Jax's character. He starts off as a total jerkwad and is disbelieving Laney could do the job better than a man. There's a scene where Laney gets ripped a big one from her (equally jerkwad) co-worker who lets loose so many sexist and misogynist comments that it hurts. Then you read how Jax overheard it and something changed between him and Laney. Their relationship becomes companionable and lighthearted going forward.

The building of their friendship helped ease my personal tick of him being a manwhore and other women coming and going before he and Laney gave into their feelings. The few scenes involving another woman were written in such a way I realized neither really saw each other as anything but boss/employee/friends. In fact, when she encounters Jax and one lady friend the morning after, it's kind of funny how Laney handles it. At this point in their relationship, there were no pings of jealousy from her so it helped me be ok with it all. This is the exact same formula for the first two books. It also smoothed it during a scene after there's an attempt on Jax's life and Laney saves him (girl power!). This was the turning point where any doubts he had about her ability to do the job were wiped out. Almost dying also made him take look at his life. He's questioning everything, including being a manwhore (I think he even used that word) and that he uses women. Laney makes an interesting point that every one of those women wanted something from him and might just be using him the same as he's using them.

Overall, a great and unique set of stories!!

Delaney is not your typical woman. All she’s ever wanted was to join the military to protect and serve but her not-so-perfect eyesight sidelined that dream. Being a cop never appealed to her so she did the next best thing…she became a professional bodyguard. She spends her days proving herself since quite of few of the other bodyguards don’t think she has what it takes. Especially to take on a heavy case like the one she’s been handed…protecting Jaxson Shields. Not only is Jaxson Shields wealthy beyond imagine, but he’s hot as hell, he’s a man-whore, he’s arrogant beyond belief and he doesn’t think she has what it takes to protect him and he has no problem letting her know this. Delaney must now juggle hiding her attraction to him with while trying to protect him.

Jaxson Shields has managed to put himself in the middle of a very dangerous situation which requires him to have constant protection. Never in a million years did he think his life would be in the hands of a woman. From the very start Jax is against Delany being his protector and he doesn’t make her job easy. It doesn’t take Jax long to realize that Delany is way better at her job than he initially thought. Not only that but she’s the sexiest woman he’s ever come across. What’s worse is the more he gets to know Delaney the more he likes and more importantly the more he wants her.
I’ve seen Bella Jewel books but never actually read one. This was my first and I really enjoyed it.

Neither of these characters was anything like I expected them to be. Upon the initial description I expected Delaney to be this cocky, arrogant, tough as nails woman that was going to drive me insane but she wasn’t. Don’t get me wrong, she was cocky, she was arrogant and she was tough but not as tough as she let on. Delaney dealt with a great deal of insecurities and not just in her career. There were numerous times when even I wondered if she was cut out for this type of work. She seemed to let the nay-sayers get in her head a little too easily but when it came time to perform, she showed, she proved and she kicked major ass. Delaney was also insecure when it came to her appearance. While she curved in all the right places she felt she was too tall and too big to be considered feminine. Clearly Jax didn’t have a problem with this. As for Jax, he too was nothing like I expected. He was definitely a playboy. Women served only one purpose but from the moment he crossed that line with Delaney you knew that he was just waiting for the right one to come along. Jax was all in…there was no sight of that playboy. He was compassionate and sensitive.

I really enjoyed both of these characters, the storyline with the danger and mystery was something that I don’t normally go for but in this case I’m glad I did. Once I finished this book I read the synopsis of a few other Bella Jewel books and it seems she like to write about kickass women so I’m going to add a few of her titles to my TBR and the fact that there was not one, not two but three sorta kinda love triangles going on at the same time didn’t hurt at all.

**I received an ARC through Netgalley courtesy of the publisher in exchange for an honest review.**

Well I liked this book the best in the Alpha's Heart series. Delaney is a bodyguard. Her training has been a hundred times harder than it is for men. She has to do more to prove herself plus she has to deal with endless teasing and prejudice.

She's finally given a top client, Jaxon Shields. Jax is a wealthy hotelier who was in the wrong place at the wrong time and he needs protection until an arrest is made. Jax has made it clear that he's uncomfortable with a woman guarding him but he has little choice.

Delaney and Jax have an attraction but at first Delaney didn't let it affect her job. In fact, she was kicking ass. But after they give in to their feelings Delaney became distracted and jealous to the point that she'd compromise Jax's safety by running off. And then she'd ignore his calls forcing Jax to put himself at risk to come find her.

But that's the only thing that irritated me. Otherwise, Hard to Forget was very well done. An enjoyable read.

Sooo Love this series and I love Bella Jewel!!
Jaxson is a bad boy billionaire Playboy.. who just so happened to get himself into some trouble when he just so happened to be in the wrong place at the very wrong time..
Delaney is a bodyguard.. she has fought to prove herself capable of doing this job.. and with all this she is given the biggest case ever..
Obviously Jax can be a ASS but once you get to know him Awww *swoon*. The chemistry between these two oh so hot! And the sex scenes Umm WOW.
This was a quick and fast paced book.. and I can not wait to read more.. 

This one I didn't like that much.
Firstly the whole body guard thing is fine but how unprofessional to argue about your partners abilities in front of a client. why he didn't just fire them was beyond me??

I couldn't get over how unprofessional it all was. The heroine calling him handsome and arguing with his guests. I couldn't see this happening on a real life situation.

also the fact that he had a revolving door and slept with his best friend even though he knew his other best friend had real feelings for her. If he didn't love the women enough why would you do that to your best friend?

I didn't really feel hero and heroine connection. so sadly this was a low rated book for me

"I have rounded hips, not too much but enough that men stop to stare."

Why is that line even necessary? Heroines like this make me want to stab myself. No thank you.

This one was my fav.
I loved how every female in this series was standing up for herself in a man's world.
Delaney was no exception she's sexy, sassy and so badass.
When she's assigned as the bodyguard to a wealthy hotel owner she's extited for her first big job. Until she realises her charge is a hot sexy chauvinist pig who is not against telling her how lacking she would be as his female bodyguard.

I really enjoyed Delaney and Jax’s story. He was the worst of all the guys when it came to thinking she couldn’t do her job, but I loved that he could admit when he was wrong. The forbidden aspect of the story was really fun, along with the action and steam. I’m sad there was only 3 books in this series but they were all very enjoyable. 4 Stars #2OCCJD
