Romantic love story!

I have read Willa Blair's historical novels, but this is the first time, that I read one of her contemporary romance. I loved her short and sweet novella, Sweetie Pie, the first story in the Candy Hearts series. Her charming characters Makenna and Tom, nicely blended into this refreshing short love story, that ended too fast, I wanted to know more about them!

While residing in Scotland, Makenna had lost everything, her boyfriend, her job. She decides to make a fresh start, wo

On the heels of an especially difficult breakup, Makenna Stewart leaves her native Scotland for a new life in Hawaii. Vowing to never be beholden to another man for her livelihood, she opens up her own bakery, Sweetie Pie.

As happy as she is with her fledgling business, her one regular customer, Tom, brings a different kind of happiness each time he walks through her door.

Tom Bensford is keeping a secret from the beguiling Makenna. Her dark hair and blue eyes are totally at odds with her brogue.

A Scot in Hawaii, I loved the premise right away. Throw in the surf-dude hunk with a secret and I was hooked. She’s got the brogue; he’s got the bod – and the bucks.
Makenna left Scotland and the memory of her ex behind and started fresh opening Sweetie Pie in Hawaii. When her regular customer, Tom seems to want more than a morning cup of coffee, she’s hesitant, but hits it off right away as he teaches her to surf. There’s more than meets the eye with Tom though, and the secret he’s trying to kee

Great Love Short Story!

I loved this story. The two characters kept me engaged in the story. I was cheering them on but couldn’t feel a little betrayed by Tom too. He was keeping a big secret and should have confided in Makenna.

Makenna’s has wanted her own bakery and now the man she loves may be selling the property out from under her. She is crushed by this betrayal. Tom hates it but doesn’t know how to solve this problem. He tries to come up with another solution which proves to Makenna how muc
