I didn't really need this book (successfully completed this stage of development quite a long time ago!) but it was such good fun pressing the button and hearing an extended and quite genuine-sounding flushing noise that I bought the book. I know several parents who would like their kiddies to follow the advice in this book, so I mustn't wear the battery out before I sell it.

This little board book comes in boy's and girl's versions with charming illustrations of kiddies' sitting on the pot and a little button to push that makes flushing and giggling sounds. I don't know if it would encourage the kiddywinks in their toilet-training but its great fun to play with anyway.

Natalie fell asleep while I was at Walmart, so I read a bunch of books in the toy department so I wouldn't disturb her nap. I might change my mind about this rating when I actually try to potty train a child. I found the text okay. It went over all the parts of going to the bathroom in a simple way. However, I don't really buy that a book about using the potty is going to make much difference (and that's coming from someone who has a book for everything). The button that sounds like a toilet flushing and giggling was actually a bit loud and long for me, almost scary. I found the asterisks in the text interesting. It was like they were giving permission for the adult to change the text, which was kinda condescending. But, would adults otherwise think to do that? These were on the words for pee, poop, and parents. I guess a child of potty training age would most likely not be old enough to know the adult reading the book was changing the words.

Cute, easy to read and understand potty training book. It helps that there's a button that makes a flushing sound w/ giggling...adds to the appeal of the book for my daughter. We'll see if this helps her, but so far all she says is, "yuck," when we get to the part that mentions "pee pee" and "poo poo." I'm hopeful, though!

This book has a button to push that is supposed to sound like a toilet flushing. Ours is either wearing down or it's cheesy.

This is one of those PC books that teaches girls how great it is too go pee-pee or poop-poop. Sigh . . .

I never knew that being a parent had so much time and discussion devoted to bodily functions.

Good book. Both of my girls love this book. Isabelle's favorite part is the sound of the flushing toilet and when theblittlengirl washes her hands.
