The section of the book entitlted "the Art of Political War" was very interesting. The summmary is that conservatives don't do a good job of engaging in the war to win, and so as a consequence, the American public, which is indeed generally conservative, think they are Democrats. In other words, many Americans vote to the left of who they really are. But that was only one section of the book. I hadn't expected that this was an amalgamation of various topics. David Horowitz's parents were Reds and he grew up very liberal. He had a change of heart when a friend of his was killed by the Black Panthers during the civil rights movement. Now he gives analysis of why democrats can stay in power with bad ideas and how republicans need to improve their messaging to let their good ideas defeat the democrat's good campaigning.
