Everybody knows you don’t mess with a big, bad Wolf. Well, everyone except Samantha Prescott…

He’s Easy…

Elijah “Easy” Cross works the night shift for the Nightriders MC, collecting pay-offs, protection money, and “policing” their properties. “Live to ride, ride to live” takes on a whole new meaning when members of a rival MC—the Hell Dogs— shoot him and give chase with the intent to kill. Easy ends up on the front porch of a single mom hiding deadly secrets from the same people after him. When she’s brutally murdered by the Hell Dogs, he feels responsible and promises to protect her two kids. Easy and his Nightrider brothers might ride on the far side of the law but hell, yeah their honor is worth dying for, and a promise is a promise.

And she’s not…

Samantha “Sam” Prescott only wants two things from the Nightriders —her niece and nephew. It’s bad enough her twin got involved with an outlaw motorcycle gang—and was murdered—but now Sam is desperate to extricate herself and the kids. To do that, she has to escape Easy, the sexy biker with boy-next-door dimples and killer instincts. It’s that whole killer thing she must keep in mind when the moonstruck Wolf is determined to make her his mate. Her instincts scream, “RUN!” Her hormones want to get down and dirty with the man who turns her boneless with a kiss.

When Sam is kidnapped and tortured by the Hell Dogs, Easy must decide to either keep his promise to ride through the fires of hell to find her or let her go for good, even if it kills him.

Warning: Lots of down and dirty sex, extreme violence—including against women—of the blood and guts kind, alpha MC members, and a moonstruck Wolf shifter with dimples. This is the dark side of the Moonstruck world where sex is rough, death is brutal, and laws don’t mean jack.

As always, no rating since I wrote the book...or in the case of some scenes, they wrote themselves. What started out as a 30K novella ended as a 56K novel. What can I say? The story insisted I tell it correctly. I hope I did Easy Cross and Samantha Prescott justice. Hopefully, you readers will let me know.

I took a chance with this book, going out of my comfort zone on several levels. I'm glad I did. I love the members of the Nightriders, love how they fit into the gritty shadow of my Moonstruck world. And I promise, each one of them will get a heroine every bit as perfect for them as Sam is for Easy. Their journey was dark and filled with pain but I think both of them would say it was worth it for the chance to love each other.

I received a copy of 'Night Shift' from Silver James, in exchange for an honest review.

'Night Shift' was my first ever read of Silver's, I was intrigued with the books description & thought, yeah I can handle dark. Not to forget I love the shifter genre & MC genre, so I definitely wanted to see where this went. Also when Silver says: WARNING! Please read her warning & decide if you can handle it... because this book isn't for the faint hearted & some scenes will make you cringe.

This book was dark from the very start, made me cringe at the start too.... but I kept reading knowing that there was a reason for all that was happening. I was dragged into the life of Easy, a member of the Nightrider MC, who was shot & in an accident within the first few chapters, the Hell Dogs are encroaching on the Nightriders territory..... Noticing a light within the forest, Easy drags himself there only to find a single mum with her 2 children. Things esculate rather quickly here & this is where most readers would stop, please perservere as this poor womens story is told & retribution is going to be brutal for the men responsible.

Yes it was dark, maybe alot darker than expected, it was horrifically violent towards women in some places... but I loved how once the leader/ Alpha of the Nightriders sees the children, he automatically puts them under his protection, no harm is done to them. Also when one of his members Old Lady or Ladies goes missing ALL Nightriders are called into action & this MC was nationwide, not just statewide. I'd hate to see what they would have done if the children went missing, as the children are rare for wolves & protected fiercly.

Would I read another book by Silver James after this?? Yep I definitely would, I can't wait to read more about the Nightrider MC.

I got to beta read this story and it was an amazing tale. Silver James is one of my favorite authors, but she's taking her Wolves in a new direction. This story is gritty and dark. There are some rough things that happen in the tale. Powerful, emotional, and still when finished, you feel like you've had an entire meal. Worth the read, but be warned if you have any triggers with violence against women. There are some tough scenes in this one. One of Silver's best to date.

Raw and rough, harsh and heroic - this isn't an easy book to read. Part of it hit the squirmy meter on so many levels. But I knew that going in. The rest of it did exactly what it was supposed to do - thrill and excite while pushing you out of your comfort zone. I cheered for the heroes and felt my heart break for the victims. And yeah, I'll be looking for the next book when it comes out because I have to - even if it makes me uncomfortable. It's just that kind of reading experience.

maybe not for everyone

I love the entire moonstruck series!! Every last book. As the author says, can get graphic and violent at times. But understanding the point of view and the characters it's coming from, it's almost expected. I love my wolves and since the moonstruck series ended, this is a nice fix. I do like the difference in point of view taken. Let's you get more into the characters head. But even with them being hard core MC members, their mates always bring out their soft spots or create them. Awesome job Ms James!! I loved it. On to number two now!!

Best of both worlds!

This is my first book from this author, on a whim I decide to take a chance. I was not disappointed, this book gives you the best of both worlds. I'm talking about the MC and shifters! Hot alpha and great female characters fill this story. You will not be disappointed. Oh, if Silver happens in this review, please give us the Russians story, please! Get started reading, it's a all nighter.

Raw and rough

Children should never have to see a parent brutalized, yet these two did. Our hero met their mother, she patched him up and kept him safe, for that he owed her and he repaid by taking in the kids when their mother was killed. The Wolves took in those kids and declared war with the Hell Dogs when they found the mother dead.

Yes to Night Shift

I have read many MC stories and this one is oh so good. I love any story with angst and suspense and Night Shift has it from beginning to end. Night Shift is definitely raw, dirty and dark. Absolutely loved it. Happy Reading

Did Not Finish.
A woman helps out an injured MC rider, he promises to look after her but doesn’t.
His own club members are about to rape her in the clubhouse. JUST BIG NO NO.
So excited to see more books added to this series. How have we gone from Hannah and Ian to this.
Really sad that Ms James has jumped on the MC genre wagon like so many other authors.
I own the original books in this series and have loved this authors previous books but this was just utterly unwarranted in this series.
By giving us totally disgusting behaviour, pigs, as I cannot call them men, treating women like crap, she is stating this behaviour is making these males the heroes. More like non heroes.
But making this such a dark story, with repetitive rapes happening, murder and innocent children being involved, all of this happening in the first few chapters, I just found so sad.
Not what I have any interest in reading and this author has lost me as a fan.
Read through my library.

After reading all the BloodMoon series, I had to try this one as well. I will admit I had read the notes about it might not be for everyone but I was willing to try. I loved the story line and how Mac and Hannah showed up (I never saw the wolf skin coming). I'm not sure how many more of this series I'll follow, it got a little too graphic for me, but that's just my own issue. The story and everything that happened fit in so well together and had to be told that way. Nothing was written in a tacky way, it was handled carefully when the going got rough. I can't wait though for the Atlantis team to show up in their own series soon!

Stop what you're reading & start NIGHT SHIFT now!!!

I read an excerpt of this in one of my FB groups and knew I was going to start and finish reading it one sitting.
I was not disappointed. The world of the Nightriders MC isn't for the faint of heart, but Sam and Easy make you stick with them the whole way through.
I dig they are the only NS mates who can communicate through their bond.
Weathering the storm when things got bad only proved Sam & Easy were true mates.
I can't wait for the next book to come out. Keeping my fingers crossed The Russian gets an unexpected surprise in finding his mate!!!

Another fantastic book by Silver James

Okay, Silver. You've teased me. I'm hooked on the wolves and as Hannah called them the Guppies ;-). I read all the Moonstruck books out there. This one was great. Hard gritty and great. The characters are well developed. The book is well written. I'm waiting and wondering when the next books in the series will be available.
Silver has shown me with these books how to write a series and have a continuous plot line. Thank you Silver for showing me how.

I loved this book and am reviewing it for a national contest. This was my first book from Silver James. I plan to read more of the stories about the Moonstruck Wolves.

Easy and Sam are very strong characters that will wring every emotion from the reader. The story is very intense and at times will be hard to read, but it is very much worth it. They will fight through Hell to find their happiness.

great story. I just realized that I read out of order in the moonstruck series, but it's a good stand-alone. I love the different POVs. They continue and it doesn't restart the same situation. Considering that this is a shifter book, he only shifted a couple times. Guess it was too much for his human to take. All in all, a great book. In fact, I'm halfway through the second book. Thank you thank you thank you

Almost gave up on this book .. but damn, am I glade I didn't!!

What I didn't like:

Russki had huge parts in the book and chapters of his own which kind of took away from the hero and made Russki feel like a main character in this book
This also eclipsed the hero's Alpha male-ness and made him look kinda weak in comparison

The heroine's reactions were a bit over the top at times.
