I met Jake when I was seventeen and at eighteen, I became his wife. The years that followed were enchanted, like a fairy tale romance.

Then, in the blink of an eye, my perfect world unraveled—I lost a part of myself and my dreams shattered around me.

At twenty-five, I was left a widow, pregnant, and mother of two.

Fast forward almost five years—I exist but I don’t “live”. I h

Oh my goodness, where to start? This book grabbed my heartstrings from the get go. You would never know this is a debut novel. Ms. Rodriguez did an amazing job bringing each character to life and holding my attention from the very first page until the final sentence. Normally, I am not especially fond of books that bounce back and forth from the past to present tense but this story was written in a way that it didn't deter from the enjoyme

This book hit a lot of my emotions. Right off the bat I was smiling then tearing up then smiling again. I love it when a book does that.

In the first part it does a little time jumping from past to present and the author did such a good job weaving the story, pulling us in and wanting to read further. I love when a book does that, too.

I went into this book blind and really enjoyed the unknown, so I don't want to share to much and spoil things.

I will say this, though. I'm excited for the next book

The Review:
I really enjoyed this novel. We essentially get two romance stories in one and by the end of it, I had experienced an array of emotions that left me captivated by the main characters, the story itself and the hint of what’s to come. For me, there were a couple of problems areas with the book but overall, this is a great debut novel.

This story grabs your heart at the prologue and doesn't let go until you finish the epilogue. Sometimes it is a little difficult to follow as the dates bounce back and forth a bit, but there always seems to be a good reason for this. Skylar is a hoot! She adds so much needed comedy to this story. "Can we keep him, momma?" ROFL This story had my emotions running the gambit. One minute I would be chuckling and the next I had a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. I found all of the characters t ...more

Leap of Faith is meant to leave the reader with a smile on their face and a good feeling of hope, faith, and believing in forever again. Life is hard at times and things happen that are unexplainable. I wanted to write a story that would be meaningful but also a light read that would help the reader escape their reality, even if just for a moment, and into the world of my characters. I hope you read and enjoy Leap of Faith. Thank you for taking a chance on my story.

This was a good book. It was quite different than many others I've read. I appreciated the multiple points of view, and the back and forth between past and present was done well (the dates are there, which made it easy). The premise was good and the characters were likable- especially Zane and Jake. There were aspects that were a bit far-fetched, which made me skim through parts. I thought the prologue was done well, and loved the ending.

Overall, I liked this book and will read more from this a

Great story but…..

I loved the plot of this extremely emotional slightly paranormal read. You actually get two love stories in one since we have the story of Faith and her late husband Jake, then we get the story of Faith and Zane.

The book opens with Jake, our first H, at a fortune teller’s table (not by choice of course). The gypsy tells him the upsetting news that he’s going to die young, but not before cheating death once with the help of a “ghost” with purple eyes. He will then trust that gho

So I went into this story with a leap of faith of my own by not reading the blurb and having no expectations of the story and have to say the prologue left me questioning from the start. I’ll be honest and say stories that contain ghosts are not really my thing but I did try to stay objective and let the story unfold, however if you like stories that have a spiritual theme then I think you may well like this one.

Honestly there is a good base story and enjoyed Faith as a character as a whole, sh

I read a lot, like a lot a lot, so I'm a bit of a book snob and can tell within the first few sentences of a book if I am going to like it or not. With this story, the premise alone was enough to make me want to read on, not to mention the engaging characters!

I loved Faith's fierceness and dedication to her children from DAY ONE!

This book was a perfect book for the mood I was in. Such a light hea book.
Starts off with predictions of the future. Devastation and loss. Then we get the happy ever after. I love the tiny portion of paranormal the idea of soul mates.

But really this is about a young woman dealing with life and what's left of her family after a devastating blow then learning about the new her and moving on.

I loved that Jake was always prepared and saw the bigger pic

This book was so emotional at times; but I great read. This book is unlike any book I have ever read in a way. Jake is told by a fortune teller at a fair that he will escape death once with the help of a purple eyed ghost and the second time he will hand the ghost his treasures. Jake was pissed at what he was told. Aren’t they supposed to tell you that you will find fortune and love not scared you half to death? This book starts with Jake’s death and then proceeds with how Faith copes with it. F ...more

Ok, where to begin. After reading the synopsis, and being a romance/paranormal fan, I REALLY wanted to like this book, but it just didn’t do it for me. I felt that the maturity level that the author was trying to portray (with being widowed with two small children, picking up her husband’s legacy etc.) and the maturity level inside of Faith’s head just did not match up. I often felt like I was in the head of a teenager, rather tha

This was really good! I liked the authors writing style and the humor the story had. I loved Jake and was happy for Faith to find another wonderful guy like Zane who loves her so much. I wished the epilogue was a little longer and we could have seen what happens to Rileey where does she go to college and what about Skylar? I felt the ending was too short and even though I know it was a happy ending it did not satisfy me. It felt like there were some loose ends that needed to be tied up (like is ...more

Zane was the most protective, caring, and devoted hero. I loved the romance and the emotional story that had me in tears. Great writing. 5 stars!

Wow! This book seriously just blew me away! I was instantly hooked from the prologue and the rest of the story just kept me yearning for more!
I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster while reading, I cried a few times and was utterly devastated at some of the things that happened in this book. I also smiled and laughed at parts. I totally swooned and got a bit hot under the collar especially with ultra hot, sexy, dirty talking alpha Zane!

I really wanted to love this book - the blurb read to be intriguing and interesting. I had issues with some aspects of how Faith and Jake got together but I could easily forgive her because of her age. Who hasn't fallen head over heals with someone aged 17?! But Jake...his actions didn't seem right - he should've known better given his own circumstances.

Anyway, having gotten past that, I read on and I began to really get into it. The love story was beautiful and I was devastated when their world

Faith is a lucky woman. She has an incredibly happy marriage and is raising a beautiful little girl as her own, and gets to play competitive Soccer for the USA! She really couldn’t ask for things to be better. That is, until she asks her husband to have his fortune told. Who knew that would change life as she knew it? That purple eyed man would shift her world in more ways than she can imagine or want.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a honest review over on my blog (Pretty Little Book Blog)

It all starts with a visit to a fortune teller, and thus begins this story that I didn't expect to come across. I came into this book like many without any preconcieved notions, I try to not hear a lot about what the story is going to entail beyond the blurb but once I get the book I go radio dark so I am not influenced by other reviewers or teasers I might come across on social media. This story was amazing. I loved the second chance love. I loved the way the old love had a hand in the new love. I loved how each love was so strong and so powerful as a reader I could not get enough.

I enjoyed that little bit of magic and fate... How life has a beautiful way of taking tragedy and pain and gives you life and love.

Faith was definitely a different lead. She was strong, smart and beautiful. It was refreshing to have a female lead that said exactly what needed to be said at the perfe

What a beautiful well written and suspenseful story. I took a chance on this book and I can't lie, it was so much more than I anticipated.

Faith is the girl that spots the guy she wants and makes sure she gets him, he doesn't even stand a chance. Jake is the perfect man and its easy to see why Faith wants him and his little girl. Their life has been great until the dreaded day that she gets the knock on the door no military wife ever wants to get. Her life changes; she's twenty-five a widow, rai

Leap of Faith

This is an exceptional standalone first book, and not just the first book in a series, but the author's first. It is a story of love, loss and second chances. But it is also about secrets, and Faith has a doozie of a secret.
Faith is seventeen when the story begins. When she falls for Jake, one of her father's soldiers, at first sight, she tells him. And at eighteen, she and Jake are married. But at twenty-five she is a widow with a daughter and one on the way.

Taking a leap of faith after losing the one person you loved takes tremendous courage, which Faith has in bucket loads. The feeling of loss is so poignant as the author weaves past memories with the present. Faith has been both mum and dad to her two daughters, continued her husband's legacy and held it all together.

When Zane comes barrelling into her life, she is in a place to move forward with her own life, but will she let him in?

I loved the paranormal feel to this read, with Jake

I really enjoyed reading this book, as I found the concept of the book to be very interesting. The book is about a woman named Faith, and her two girls and how they overcome life without her husband who passed away. The story teaches us not to take life for granted and to live life to the fullest. I liked the idea of a single mom from a military background story as i haven't read very many like it, but i felt the pace of the story was to
