The most important changes generally don't come from the big things that happen to us; it's the small things that really transform our lives - small things that have surprising, powerful ripple effects that go far beyond our expectations. Take, for example, three actions that anyone can perform:

*Leave everything a little better than you found it;
*Wear your scars proudly;
*Unleash your own song.

Let Patrick Lindsay's insights guide you on the small, simple steps that each and every one of us can make to unleash positive energy into our own lives, and from there, into the world around us. One each page, you will find small suggestions, supported by a quote of timeless wisdom, reminding us that we have the power to take control of our own destinies, to make our own decisions, to leave our own fingerprint on the world.

I received this book as a gift and loved the beautiful words of wisdom. Each one of these wonderful suggestions are followed by quotes from well known authors, politicians, humanitarian, anonymous,...

Here are a few of my favorites:

"The less you talk the more you're listened to"

"Never look back unless you are planning to go that way"

"Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes "

This is a neat little book of quotes and snippets of advice. The short paragraphs are each followed by a corresponding quote by someone famous. There were many Ralph Waldo Emerson, Sir Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln, and Albert Einstein quotes along with several from names I probably should have recognized. I liked that the quotes and authors each had a time beneath them. The quotes were much more interesting to me than many of the snippets. They weren't all bad, in fact there were only a few I disagreed with, but they weren't all potent and memorable either. The book has a few gems in it, for sure, but overall, I'd probably only ever pick it up again to skim the quotes for a good one. I doubt I would remember to recommend it to anyone.

I find it harder to rate reads like this?
This was a nice, quick read that i enjoyed!
Some of the lessons in it are things we should all know by now and then the others were things I never thought of and will now be mindful of.
Overall a cute, positive read!

This is the second time I’ve read this but I didn’t really remember anything from it. It’s a cute and simple book with short messages trying to help us be the best we can. Wasn’t super impactful for me but I enjoyed reading it.

This little self-help book is full of great advice. Many are ones that I’ve heard previously, or already try to do, but regardless the reminders are not amiss. Each page contains a quotation pertaining to the advice topic.

Though a short book – only 176 pages long – it took me several days to read. This is a book best savored, not gobbled in huge chunks.

It had some great stuff to help with self improvement.
I liked these 2 things most:

YOU ARE NOT YOUR MISTAKES. Use them as a lesson not as a sentence. Do not let them define who you are. Consider why you made them. Learn from them. Emerge stronger. Resolve not to repeat them. Move ahead.

GIVE COMPLIMENTS. They take such little effort yet bring so much joy. When you are impressed, take time to acknowledge it. It will make someone's day. It will life your spirits too.

I could use a bit more help in each of these departments.

Love the quotes. This would make an ideal gift for a graduate. Nothing new however, for me.
