They say that books can take a reader anywhere the imagination dares to tread and Megan Cutler’s “Crossroads of Frozen Eternity”, the second novel in her Mystical Island Trilogy, certainly proves the point as her time-shifting, planet-hopping island sets her main characters on yet another mind-bending, multi-dimensional adventure. Cutler’s tale, which is a continuation of her “Island of Lost Forevers (Book 1)”, hardly allows the reader to settle into the familiarity of the initial story before a ...more

Crossroads of Frozen Eternity is an exciting continuation of the Mystical Island Trilogy. Cutler's writing style has greatly improved in this one (not to say that it was anything less than beautiful in the first book) and the reader jumps right into the excitement of the story. I have to say this book discusses one of my favorite theories of multiple realities. The blending of magic and science is one that I absolutely LOVE! Short review: A highly recommended read that expands on an already solid world and characters.

This is the sequel to Island of Lost Forevers. While you don’t technically have to read the first book to enjoy the second, I would highly recommend it. You’ll understand the characters, and their motivations, far better.

Crossroads continues the story of Catilen and Damian, and Catilen’s daughter, Morulin. All three are relatable, and I particularly liked getting more insight into Damian’s mind. Morulin

Book two of what is turning out to be a very exciting trilogy really gave me some moments of deep thought.

Having read the first book (Island of Lost Forevers), I'd already come to the second with some preconceived notions of the characters. Some of those ideas were severely shifted as I read through this book, and some were rather enforced. At any rate, the author kept me on my toes in character development throughout.

I also was pleased to find that the book explores ideas in theoretical science

The second book in this series was even better than the first! The tension and suspense ebbed and flowed, growing more and more insistent, just like the magic of the island(s). Some of the physics involved stretched my brain (which is what I love about physics), and the situation of the characters was so heartrending, I could hardly breathe while reading certain very emotional scenes. I am anxious to read the next installment and find out what happens and how the story ends.
