Un 4,5 en realidad.
Ya de primeras con un argumento tan atrayente quieres tener el libro, pero es que la edición no se queda atrás y contamos con ilustraciones en blanco y negro al principio de cada parte, una sobrecubierta transparente y una calidad realmente buena en las páginas, tener Zero en la estantería es un lujazo. Porque no solo tiene una buena edición, el interior le acompaña y nos encontramos con una historia trepidante, llena de secretos, misterios, falsas apariencias, acción y amistad, una trama perfectamente elaborada que poco a poco va trazándose y es en el final cuando todo toma su sitio y te quedas alucinando.
Aunque el principio no sea lo mejor del libro porque se hace un poco lento según se va avanzando no puedes despegarte de sus páginas, entre los capítulos cortos que te hacen seguir leyendo sin darte cuenta, la prosa de Morgan Dark que es amena, intrigante y sabe jugar muy bien con el lector y una trama que cada vez va aumentando más la intensidad te ves atrapado y sin opciones de soltar el libro hasta el final. Es genial que pase esto con los libros porque hay pocos que lo consiguen y encima con una historia tan peculiar, porque Zero se aleja bastante de los estereotipos de la literatura juvenil.

This story follows our main character Kyle Bradford, a student attending Drayton Boarding School; one of the most elite schools In the country. At the beginning of the school year Kyle Is accused of being the infamous thief Zero--the one hundred million dollar thief-- given his name by leaving no evidence or trace that he was ever at the crime scenes. Kyle Is being closely watched by the authorities and must Zero's true identity before he is wrongly convicted of the thefts.
Overall I gave this book a 3.5/5 stars. I enjoyed that this book is not only a mystery, but a mystery with a paranormal twist. It was a slow start and I was not sure I would be able to push through. I'm glad I continued reading because the second half of the book was much better and I was unable to put it down ! There is also a major plot twist at the end of the book that I did not see coming!

Zero no tiene nada que ver con cualquier otra obra juvenil publicada hasta la fecha. Ni en trama ni en desarrollo. Tiene un ritmo frenético que te engancha desde el principio y la tensión que la autora crea en la historia te mantiene en vilo hasta el final (por cierto… vaya final más espectacular!!! Quiero gritar de la emoción!!!!). Lo mejor es que a pesar de que se van planteando muchos interrogantes, todo se resuelve a la perfección. No queda ningún cabo suelto. También me ha gustado mucho la evolución del personaje principal (Kyle). Adoro a ese chicooooooo! Es perfecto! Y se deja querer sin esfuerzo.
En definitiva, una novela altamente adictiva y altamente recomendable a la que no le falta ni le sobra nada. Estoy deseando que se publique en España la segunda parte!!

He leído este libro como parte de una lectura conjunta que aún no ha acabado, pero es que he llegado a un punto en el que no podía parar, me ha enganchado de una manera increíble.
Sin duda alguna recomiendo este libro, para mi ha sido fantástico poder descubrir una historia en la que los misterios se suceden sin parar, y nos sorprenderá por su originalidad. El final no ha quedado ni un cabo suelto, aunque haya un segundo volumen este se puede leer perfectamente como autoconclusivo.
Pronto tendréis la reseña completa en el blog.

Zero es una lectura adictiva con un ritmo trepidante, con sorpresas y con mucho misterio entre sus páginas. Con unos personajes muy bien perfilados que nos irán conquistando a lo largo de la lectura. Poco a poco iremos descubriendo todo lo que Zero intenta esconder.

Decir que me ha gustado Zero es quedarse corto. Muuuuy corto. Me ha encantado. Entusiasmado. Enamorado. De verdad. Acabo de terminar de leerlo y ya tengo ganas de empezar de nuevo. No sé ni siquiera por dónde arrancar esta crítica porque me ha gustado todo!!
A ver… Por partes.
El personaje de Zero… ¿Alucinante? No. Más aún. Es sexy, provocador y tiene ese toque de maldad que me vuelve loca. Kyle por supuesto está ahí, en segundo puesto. Al principio me caía un poco mal pero, luego, conforme me metí más en la historia y me di cuenta de lo mal que lo estaba pasando, me solidaricé con él y me empezó a caer mejor. Miranda es mi tercer personaje preferido. Ya sé que la mayoría no la soporta pero… A mí me chifla la chica jajaja.
Y la trama… Pufff… Es magnífica. Bien escrita y, sobre todo, llena de suspense que es lo que más me gusta de un libro. Morgan Dark sabe cómo esconder la verdad y engañarnos para que creamos algo diferente. Y lo hace tan condenadamente bien que cuando llegamos al final (ESE final) nos quedamos como “WHATTTTT?!?!?!”. Todo está tan bien pensado que no queda nada en el aire.
No se me ocurre nada negativo sobre este libro así que cierro la reseña diciendo solo que lo leías. ¡Por favor! Yo solo puedo darle un 10.

Zero ha sabido mantenerme enganchado a sus páginas, puesto que necesitaba descubrir quién se escondía tras la máscara de este enigmático ladrón. Hacen falta más thrillers en literatura juvenil.

Patri lleva años recomendándome estos libros, y como no sabía que leer y me apetecía leer algo diferente, que consiguiera engancharme, no pude resistirme a leer este libro.
Realmente, me alegro de haberlo leído, la prosa de la autora es fantástica,me ha encantado tanto la historia, la forma de narrarla, y en como la autora ha sabido llevar la intriga y que no sospechase lo que iba a encontrarme mientras leía.
El personaje de Kyle, es increíble, lo adoro! Tiene una evolución increíble, que ha hecho que lo adorase más cuanto más lo conocía.
Me reitero diciendo que es una historia que hay que leerla.

No sé si es juvenil o no pero tengo que deciros que la historia me ha atrapado desde su primer capítulo y no he podido dejar de leerlo hasta el final. La aventura es apasionante, tiene intriga, personajes misteriosos, un internado para niños ricos como telón de fondo y un ladrón que ha captado mi atención desde el minuto uno de su aparición en escena.
Personajes interesantes; enigmas sin resolver y un halo de misterio que envuelve cada rincón de esta aventura me han llevado por una historia muy especial que, creo, os va a encantar a jóvenes y adultos.
Me ha sorprendido gratamente y hacía tiempo que no me entretenía con un misterio juvenil de forma tan arrolladora.
Todo está muy bien medido (intriga, humor, investigación...) y progresivamente se van desvelando las pistas que os llevarán a un final que nadie espera... no me ha resultado nada previsible aunque me he pasado todo el libro barajando posibles finales... jajajaja....

Misteriosa y adictiva. Me ha gustado mucho toda la intriga y oscuridad que rodea la historia y los personajes. Desde el inicio estamos con las sospechas, y la autora sabe jugar las cartas muy bien, haciéndonos pensar a cada capítulo una cosa. Su protagonista, Kyle, es un personaje que va de menos a más y acaba por sorprendernos con su arrojo y su mentalidad. Así como el resto de personajes que dan un giro hacia el final. Pues esa última cuarta parte de las revelaciones, ha sido un WOW constante por lo bien que han encajado todas las piezas y cómo ha conformado la historia. Aunque la conclusión del libro es la que es, me ha dejado una sensación de vacío como si "¿ya está?". Hay muchas cosas y todas se resuelven, pero no sé por qué me ha dejado una sensación coja...
Seguiré con el 2º libro aunque, por lo poco que he visto dicen que no es tan bueno como este, habrá que corroborarlo.

Zero es un apasionante thriller que no podrás soltar hasta descubrir con todo lujo de detalles quién es ese ladrón tan misterioso y por qué hace lo que hace y que esconde una historia mucho más profunda de lo que podría llegar a parecer en un primer momento.

Not gonna lie here–I’ve been super excited to write this review.
‘Why?,’ you might ask.
Well, it’s because this book freaking blew my mind. (*whisper yelling* So I want you all to read it and get your minds blown too!!)
Right off the bat it hooked me in and dragged me into a crazy ride circling around the main character, Kyle Bradford, and the web of lies and secrecy woven around a notorious thief called Zero.
Now, for the sake of preserving the mystery of this book–because trust me, this is not something you want to get spoiled for–I’m not going to do my character-analysis thingy that I usually do. Gotta keep you guys intrigued, right? *smirk*
I will say that the reason I took off half a star was because I found some of the characters’ personalities to not line up. Originally I took off an entire star for this, but later on I excused it because I think that there’s a chance that it was intentional?? I’m not sure…. I’d have to ask Morgan Dark herself, I guess!
But the point is, this book was incredibly fast paced. It gripped you. The entire time, your mind is grappling at theories and trying to figure out what’s going on…. And you just can’t. Figure it out I mean. Heck, this book gave me anxiety. I was so stressed for Kyle that I was sitting there hypothesizing ways it could have a happy ending for him–while I was supposed to be socializing. *sigh* Oh well….
Trust me, this entire book is one well-written, plot-hole-y, insane tangled web–one I highly recommend you unravel yourself. You won’t regret it!

Me animé a leer este libro por la buena puntuación que tenía y por los buenos comentarios que leí, pero a mi no me ha gustado. Principalmente ha sido porque no he logrado conectar con el protagonista, me parecía un niño pijo que iba de sobrado y que no acababa de creerme; aunque todo cambie con la "gran" revelación, sigue sin caerme bien.
Otra cosa que no me ha gustado son las incoherencias que he encontrado al leer la historia:
- los paquetes que le llegan de Zero que los abre delante de todo el mundo pero nadie se da cuenta
- el policía que le persigue ni se inmuta ni pregunta por qué se tira a por la esfera
- el chip! que demonios¿? si te cambias el nombre, finges ser quien no eres y finges con tus amigos pero te tienes que poner un chip para olvidar que eres Zero, porque no ibas a ser creíble... no lo entiendo!!!
Y además el libro no resuelve nada, queda igual que al principio pero con la esfera... todo indica que habrá un segundo libro, el cual no voy a leer.

Ya sabía que este libro me iba a encantar incluso antes de leerlo. Engancha desde el comienzo, se sale de lo común. Morgan Dark ha conseguido hilar a la perfección este historia, creándote incertidumbre durante toda la lectura y dejándote con la boca abierta al final. He adorado a Kyle, de principio a fin, es un personaje fantástico. Len me llamó la atención desde su primera aparición y al final le adoré aun más. A Mike le cogí muchísimo cariño y al final, pese a todo, me seguía gustando xd. En definitiva los personajes son fantásticos y uno de los puntos fuertes del libro. Solo hay una cosa que no me ha gustado, pero que no voy a decir porque sería spoiler >_<. Así que en conclusión tenemos una trama emocionante, misteriosa, adictiva y épica, con unos personajes de 10. No sé que haces que no estás leyendo este libro ya.

He de decir que este libro es genial. La forma en la que está escrita hace que sea muy fresco, los capítulos en primera persona y tan cortitos hacen que el lector pase las páginas sin dejarse la vida en él.
La historia es impresionante, no suelo leer este tipo de género pero he de decir que creo que gracias a este libro me acabo de apuntar otro tipo de literatura a mi lista de gustos.

En realidad no sé si darle un 2.5
Tenía mucha curiosidad por este libro que tantas buenas críticas había cosechado y que tanto ha gustado a los lectores. A parte de eso, el argumento me llamaba bastante y el género suelo disfrutarlo un montón.
He tenido serios problemas para seguir con la lectura y me he obligado a mi misma a seguir con la lectura por conocer el final y no abandonarlo, aunque ganas no me faltaban. El primer capítulo me dejó con ganas de conocer más de la historia y del misterioso Zero, pero una vez que el protagonista principal toma la narración, fue soporífero. Kyle ha sido un personaje soso, mimado y muy aburrido. La trama no me convenció y lo mejor del libro fue la última parte donde se resuelve todo el misterio. Un misterio que la autora te lo muestra al completo a lo largo de la lectura. La gran sorpresa final, el giro que debería haberme dejado con los ojos como platos, lo dijo ella misma al principio de la novela. También muchas de las explicaciones me parecieron inverosímiles y muy poco creíbles, me hubiera gustado una explicación menos rebuscada y más realista.
De momento no tengo intención de leer el segundo libro y no se si en algún momento llegaré a hacerlo.

Wow! There were quite a few surprises in this one! This book was a bit of a mash-up of genres – mostly a YA thriller with a bit of sci-fi and maybe even magical realism thrown in. The result was a story full of twists and turns that had me guessing from the get-go.
What fed my addiction:
Mystery.
From the beginning, I was eager to figure out how Kyle was related to the mysterious Zero – it was obvious that there was some connection between them because Kyle was dreaming about the sphere that we saw with Zero in the first scene of the book, but the question of what these two had to do with each other wasn’t simple at all! Was Kyle just a pawn that Zero was using? Was he somehow giving Kyle the dreams? Was the sphere actually connecting Kyle and Zero, and if so, why? Were Kyle and Zero biologically related? Did they know each other? All of these questions and more flashed through my mind, but I was extremely surprised by the answers!
Suspense.
The stakes were extremely high since Kyle was being framed for Zero’s crimes. Kyle had to catch Zero himself in order to prove his innocence and clear his name. There were plenty of suspenseful moments in this book when Kyle was on the verge of catching the culprit OR being caught himself!
A mind-bending conclusion.
I came up with a lot of theories as the book progressed, but when it was all revealed, I was shocked. My favorite part of the book was actually the last quarter or so when the secrets had been revealed and we got to see how it had all actually played out. There were several issue that I’d had with the book early on that made complete sense once everything was revealed (including the unlikability of Kyle and his friends, believe it or not). I found myself rethinking parts of the book that had made me frustrated earlier!
What left me wanting more:
Unlikable characters.
I wasn’t sure about the characters in this book for a good portion of the book, if I’m being honest. Practically all of them acted kind of like jerks at one point or another. Kyle and his friends seemed a bit stuck-up and they mocked classmates and generally made me seethe (often). Like I said, though, somehow a lot of this was actually explained in some unexpected ways, and the characters’ actions ended up falling into place in ways I wasn’t expecting! Even when everything was revealed, many of the protagonists’ actions remained in a (very) morally gray area for me. I couldn’t help but think that there could have been a better way to achieve a similar outcome, but … it was all still very intriguing!
Some cheesiness.
There were parts of this book that made me roll my eyes a bit. For instance, when it was finally revealed how one of the major thefts was carried out, I couldn’t help but think it was a bit unbelievable and even somewhat laughable. Still, this isn’t the type of book that you read for it’s authenticity, so …
Of note –
The editing of this book seemed like it could have used some improvements, but I’m not sure that the copy I received was a final version. The book was first released in Spanish, but the author lives in the US, and I’m not clear on if she originally wrote the book in Spanish or English – either way, there might have been a few editing issues (odd or incorrect wordings) that were due to translation issues. Nothing major, but it was enough to occasionally give me pause. (And, as a freelance editor, I have a really hard time turning that side of my brain off when reading!)
Zero turned out to be a suspenseful thriller that was full of surprises! Even though there were moments of the book I didn’t love (or that felt a bit unbelievable), when I think back on my reading experience what stands out for me are the big reveals and how Dark wove the story together in such a surprising way, making details that felt random suddenly make sense. I give the book 3.5/5 stars overall, and I recommend you check it out for yourself!

Zero follows a teenage boy named Kyle who goes to a fancy boarding school and lives a good life. A string of robberies committed by a masked figure named Zero has the world shocked. The police are at every scene, notified by the criminal himself, yet they can never catch him. Nobody knows who Zero is, or why he’s stealing what he’s stealing, but a trail leads right to Kyle’s school. Soon, Zero’s robberies are taking place in Kyle’s classes, leaving him to look like the prime suspect. But Kyle claims to have nothing to do with the crimes, so why is Zero framing him?
This book has such an interesting concept, unique from other YA suspense books. Character wise, I liked it a lot. I thought Kyle was a really great main character, and I was rooting for him throughout the book. I did not see the ending plot twist coming, which is always one of the favorite parts of books. Going into Zero, I thought it was just going to be a contemporary thriller, but it ended up combining elements of science fiction, too, that I thought added a fun twist. This doesn’t work in all books, but it made sense and was well executed in Zero.
My main issue with the book was how rushed the ending was. This book is split up into four parts, and the final part reveals who Zero is, and why. This plot twist didn’t really make much sense until the end of the book, and I thought it was confusing because of the way it was told. Although clever, I think it should have been planned out better, because everything seemed so rushed and jumbled together.
My other issue was how repetitive the writing got. “Cutting edge” was used to describe the same object, on the same page, twice. This made some of the sentences sound choppy, and I think it would’ve had a better flow is the word choice was more varied.
To conclude, I recommend Zero if you are looking for a fast-paced, suspense-filled read.

He de reconocer que cuando un libro levanta tanto hype como Zero empieza a no gustarme. Al principio pensé que sería un libro más que estaba causando mucho furor pero que luego no valía tanto como decían (me ha pasado recientemente con La chica del tren… Vaya decepción, por cierto). Sin embargo, cuando llevaba menos de veinte páginas me di cuenta de que, en esta ocasión, el hype está muy muy muy justificado.
La trama está tan bien llevada que nunca te aburres. Ya desde las primeras páginas empezamos a ver cosas raras que están sucediendo alrededor de Kyle y eso da tan mala espina que quieres seguir leyendo aunque solo sea para averiguar quién o qué está persiguiéndole y vigilándole. La autora mantiene siempre el suspense y no deja que decaiga en ningún momento lo cual se agradece porque en otros libros que se venden como “de suspense” averiguas quién es el villano en las primeras de cambio. En Zero no es tan fácil. Y eso me ha gustado. De hecho, he de confesar que a mí la revelación final me pilló de improviso por completo jaja.
La forma en la que está escrita la novela es genial. El ritmo es súper ágil pero, al mismo tiempo, la narración no cae en giros simplones. Me ha llamado mucho la atención la manera que tiene la autora de manejar a los personajes y, sobre todo, los acontecimientos para mantenernos en vilo. Siempre pasa algo y eso hace que la historia consiga sorprenderte en cada página. Es cierto que a veces parece que la trama va a ser previsible y que vamos a descubrir qué va a pasar a continuación fácilmente pero Morgan Dark consigue girar todo de nuevo para que nos quedemos con la boca abierta.
En definitiva, recomiendo esta novela con los ojos cerrados. No cambiaría nada. Me ha parecido de lo mejor.

Cuando empecé a leer Zero, tenía una serie de ideas preconcebidas sobre lo que me podría esperar. Pero nunca me imaginé lo que me iba a encontrar. Desde el prólogo, hasta la última página del epílogo, Zero es un libro que atrapa. La sencillez en el estilo y el buen ritmo a la hora de narrar de Morgan Dark, además de la cuidada trama tan bien hilada, hacen que desde el principio te enganches y consigue que estés atrapada entre sus páginas, intentando desvelar incógnitas, haciéndote preguntas, planteándote posibilidades, descartando sospechosos y formando nuevas teorías e hipótesis.
"Ahora sabía la verdad. Sabía quién era. Sabía cuál era el auténtico rostro que se escondía bajo la máscara de plata del ladrón más infalible de la historia"
Resulta magistral y super atractiva la forma tan ágil y sencilla que tiene la autora de atraparnos, de dejar las cosas en el aire para que seas tú quien imagine, quien piense, quien se coma el coco. Juega con el lector, lo atrapa, lo lleva de la mano con un agarre suave pero firme, metiéndolo por distintos senderos de un laberinto muy bien pensado. Sin recurrir a descripciones excesivas y sin rizar el rizo, consigue una trama sorprendente, original, atrayente y, sobre todo, con mucha intriga y acción.
Zero es un thriller juvenil muy atractivo, intrigante, original, con unos giros sorprendentes y un final que se desarrolla con naturalidad, haciendo justicia a la trama e intriga que domina durante toda la novela. El misterio es el ingrediente clave de este libro, los secretos y el peligro su escenario particular y los personajes son las marionetas que utiliza la escritora para relatarnos una historia que mezcla algo de magia con la realidad más oscura del ser humano. El ladrón de los cien millones de dólares y la máscara plateada me ha atrapado completamente.
Me han comentado que habrá una segunda parte. Aunque Zero cierra bien, sí es verdad que se quedan muchas cosas en el aire que han de resolverse. Y estoy ansiosa por embarcarme en las nuevas aventuras de este ladrón tan espectacular.
