Had me chuckling and smiling at many moments. Nostalgic. Guess 80s kids would find it appealing.
Overall it was fun and loved reading through this collection of short stories.

Kind of disappointed after the first book. Didn't expect it to be a heavy read anyway, but didn't think it would be so easily forgettable either. I was able to connect to just a couple of stories (Unnees Tiya Sattawan and Basti Basti Dher Udaasi). Rest were just okay. Story-wise detailed review later. For now, would rate it lower than Namak Swadanusar. Repetitiveness is also one reason. ...more

This "New Hindi" wave of writing is delightful - the language doesnt feel crass as in Bollywood nowadays ("Dedh Ishqiya" had to be screened with English subtitles), yet is not difficult for readers like me who have Hindi as their mother-tongue but find it difficult to read "shuddh" Sanskrit-based Hindi of authors like Acharya Chatursen.
I am not too fond of short-stories but this collection of 9 short stories was highly readable. While I found a couple of stories too bland, there were some good m

Zindagi Aais Pais(ZAP) is the second collection of short stories by the Namak Swadanusar (NS) fame author Nikhil Sachan. Overall a good read but I found these stories surprisingly disappointing in so many ways.

Though the stories in his first book were a breeze of freshness and were pouring forth with life events of a common Indian born in the 90's, stories in ZAP fail to surprise the reader with narratives, stories and anecdotes very similar to the stories in NS. Though the style of writing and

Nikhil is a brilliant wordsmith. He grows leaps and bounds over an excellent debut collection of short stories by giving us this new collection - a game of aankh-michauli that we play with life and vice versa.

Nikhil effectively changes his narration style with the subject of the story, there are passages (like the ones in Vicky Malhotra ki Love Story) which hit you on the chest with a sledge hammer, and then there is the sequel to the delightful Nanu-Subbu story from Namak Swadanusar (Nanu-Subbu

I just love the winds of the new age modern Hindi writers coming in the dilemma of Hindi literature. Nikhil Sachan is like Jhumpa Lahiri of Hindi. some of the story in the book is cliches but nikhil significantly used the signs for every story. Every story have their different aroma. The best part o Nikhil Sachan's writing is he reminds me of the old school slang language which we all forget in the lights of globalization. His stories have a brilliant structure and at no point of time you may no ...more

I really don't have any words to describe how beautiful this books is. Its a fresh breeze for Hindi Literature. The reason why people have lost connect with Hindi is because no one is writing stories about "us", "the people".

Nikhil, admidst all this, comes as someone who has a very strong hold on nostalgia, 90s, children, love, philosophy and existentialism. Having said that, his language is so beautiful and lucid, that reading him is always an experience. A ride for life time. Every paragraph

Must read for kids of 90s. Most of the things might be relevant today also. But it takes you deep inside nostalgia. After hard hitting namak swadanusar, a book that cherishes sweet and beautiful memories.

Good book. The nostalgia seems to be forced at times. Vicky Malhotra and Tum kya jaano preet have to be best of the collection.

This book wonderfully captures the snapshots of middle class Indian lifestyle. It is full of nostalgia for readers of any age. At some point it is brutally honest, at others it just explores the bright side of any tragic situation. It brought me back from a reading exile of many years and has rejuvenated my passion for reading. The writing style makes you read the whole book in one go. It is a must read for any Indian millennial.

Worth a read but not highly recommended

Collection of stories, most of which are of characters which we would have seen/met in our day to day life. One story on Homosexual affair is really bold one along with Cute Mohar Singh. Worth a read though not highly recommended
