Great collection of articles originally published in various Bay Area newspapers from the late 80s and throughout the 90s. If you want to get a sense of the general issues that Asians Americans face in the US, this book covers them and then some. As much as I value this book for the witty and compelling analyses of the condition of Asians in America, it's difficult to read every article from cover to cover. I had a tough time reading the chapter on anti-asian racism without taking breaks. However, this isn't the fault of the writing, it was more of a function of the troubling issues involved. If I had to read this book again, I'd do it choose-your-own-adventure style to mix it up and avoid over saturation of some difficult topics.
