Daughter of Lions is one of the stories that you don’t want to end. When you get to the last page it leaves you feeling happy about the ending but sad that you finished reading. I highly recommend reading this book by one of my favorite authors.

Victoria is a teenager who is a cheerleader with lots of friends and is pretty popular. There is just one thing that her friends don’t know about her. She is a hybrid werelion and her father if the alpha werelion of his pride. Victoria has never really fe

I loved this book from start to finish. The characters were amazing as was the story. The book had me tearing up more than once and a book that good deserves to be on my favorites list. Victoria was a character that I loved and admire and even felt a connection to. Brandon was infuriating and sweet, which was what attracted me to him. This book felt like an urban fantasy book for teens. I loved it. The action in this book was captivating and I was always on my toes every page I turned. Needless ...more

DNF @ ~60%

I started reading this because it made me think what if Curran (from the Kate Daniels series) had a child. I kept reading it despite the MC's nonstop "woe is me" and the teenage love drama because I wanted to see where the book was going. The addition of the love triangle was just the final straw.

Shifters, lions, love triangle, oh my! Victoria just cannot catch a break! Being a teenager has always been tough, but try being a teenager of an alpha lion... and you're a hybrid. Sigh... Add a mom who just can't deal with what you are and you don't fit in with any crowd. Throw in Brandon, the hottest werelion you have ever seen and Victoria's world is all topsy turvy! Victoria is spending Spring Break with her dad and her life gets a little more interesting. There's a bat-shit crazy wolf, Bob, ...more

Thoughts: (spoiler warning)
1) main character so moody and depressing all throughout the book that it got annoying early on.
2) annoying love triangle
3) instalove
4) author takes the easy way out of love triangle by conviently killing one of the love interests so that the main character doesn’t have to choose.
5) the bad guy is a really flat character
6) not enough effort went into developing the characters beyond their summary bio page. This makes it difficult to connect to any character. And the o

Lots of Teenage Angst

This is in a way a coming of age story! Victoria is a hybrid who doesn't believe that she belongs in either world that she's a part of. What teenager at times doesn't question themselves, their lives, their future? This is full of Tori being filled with uncertainty and guilt. Along the way she faces death and also matures. Some of the reviews of this complained that Vic was flighty and this had so much drama. Well.... hello!! It's a coming of age story ppl ♡♡♡♡ You read the

This book felt like a series of its own and yet it never felt too rushed or overwhelming. Nolonger a teenager myself I feared that I wouldn't relate to the heroine in a meaningful way but she is written so that I found it easy to fit seamlessly into Tori's head and see the world as a 15 year old does. I found the characters to be amiable and read it practically in one sitting because once I was invested I needed to know how it ended. Overall well done and would recomend.

It was such a good book. I really enjoyed the character's. My favorite had to be Victoria she had such a strong personality but was also fragile at the same time. I liked how she tried to keep her emotions to herself but could only for so long before she had to tell them. Victoria has been through so much in her life. I can understand why she felt so different no matter where she was. I was not sure who she was going to end up with before the tragic incident and still am not sure who she would h ...more

I don't usually read books about shifters but this book we always be one of my favorite s. I'm disappointed that there is no sequel to the book. I was drawn into the story so much so that its like you could feel the pain Victoria, the main character was going through. Everyone always likes the idea of two men trying to win the heart of one women. You definitely get that here. There was quite a shocking event in this book that left me feeling, well, shocked. If you want a story that let's you fee ...more

This book took me a little while to get into the main character's head. Victoria is a typical teenager, with all of the usual angst - or so you think when you first start reading. Then things are brought to light, complications - and she quickly earns your respect and becomes a bad-ass in her own right. There is love, pressure of finding a mate (within a given time frame not of her choosing) and although it might look like a love triangle on the surface it definitely is not. I enjoyed the intera ...more

I won a signed copy of this book, and the moment it arrived, I picked it up and have not put it down until now. The plot was amazing, the characters developed and relate-able. Victoria was an amazing main character. The way the author incorporated Tori's emotions with being a mere hybrid was excellence in itself.

This book got me out of my reading slump! - I plan to have a more thorough review posted here and on my blog soon! - http://haddieshaven.blogspot.com
