As a recovering alcoholic drug addict, I initially took some offense to the title of this book. Then I became defensive: "I'm not a Horror addict, I'm a Horror enthusiast!" Then I remembered my wife proclaiming that I'd simply substituted my alcohol/drug addiction for a Horror addiction. Damn, busted! Haha! Now, after reconsidering everything, I feel that in the context of this wonderful book the term "addict" is reclaimed and re-purposed and thus becomes a term of pride, endearment, and empowerment. I was so excited to read this book and I was not disappointed! My favorite aspect of this work is that it is a validation. A group of people got together and made a document that not only says, "Hey, I'm like you!", it celebrates Horror fans, Horror People, as a tribe and as a culture. This is beautiful beyond words and I am very grateful to Emerian Rich and the awesome team at HorrorAddicts.Net for putting this fantastic tome together. My only hope is that this will become a series! If you love Horror and you feel alone in your world, check this out and you won't feel lonely anymore!
