Here is some brief information about myself.

I’m interested in science because it helps us to understand the world. I enjoy finding out about new things and then working out how to write about them in a way that is both clear (and accurate) but which also conveys my own excitement and interest. I particularly like writing books that are fun, and I have been lucky to have had so many chances to do so.

I was born in Yorkshire in England, but grew up in Stranraer, a small town in south-west Scotland. I graduated from Edinburgh University and then came down to London, where I have lived ever since. I enjoy reading novels, watching films, and walking in the countryside.

Educational fiction.Young readers are invited to feel as if they're grownups, getting the inside story about a truck driver and his problems.

Such a clever angle into this story!

Readers learn how a trucker named John prepares to do his work. If this book were really creative nonfiction, as it pretends to be, certain details would not be allowed in the narrative. Such as:

Today was no day to get lost!

But hello! This story is 100% fictional, yet it's written so cleverly that I am shelving this book under both FIVE STAR rating and WRITING.

A story of a semi truck's ordinary day, with a few obstacles on the way to make a special delivery! The four year old boy I watch who loves trucks liked it!

John is a trucker and he has a load and a special delivery to make with his truck. The reader gets to see some of the problems that can happen and how to deal with them. Bright illustrations and large font.

They're simple. They're informative. They're cheap. If your child is too young to read, they're perfectly good read-aloud books.

What more can you ask for when stocking your kid's library?

My nieces are special fans of this one. They get very into it every time the truck driver falls into one form of trouble or another.

I liked that this book was geared toward the beginning to read crowd. However, I felt it was a little bit hard for that age group. I gave this book 4/5 stars. I liked the story about the driver and his job and all that is included in his day. I liked the pictures too! I gave it the lower rating because I felt it should have been a level 2 reader!

My 4-year-old liked this book but he couldn't read most of the words even though it's a "Level 1 Beginning to Read" book.

This book has many truck problems but he solved his problems and got to where he needed to be just in time to help kids in a hospital.
