This book explains how snowflakes form, what kinds there are, & how they grow or evaporate! (yes, they often evaporate as opposed to melt!) I had no idea many snowflakes could be in rod or cylinder shapes. It also includes some info and pictures of W.A. Bentley, & the fact t ...more

This is a very good nonfiction book about snow crystals. There are loads of facts and details about how snowflakes are formed, the history of research on the topic, and tons of photographs. This is a great book for grade school kids who want to understand snow beyond looking ...more

This book contains a lot of information and science vocabulary regarding the formation of snowflakes and the history of their discovery and documentation. Overall, I found the book to be a bit dry.
