There’s nothing that Angelique Barbetta can’t handle, no illness she can’t recover from, not one item on her outrageous bucket list that she can’t conquer—not even alligator wrestling! But after discovering her fiancé in a less-than-professional position with their perky assistant, even tough-as-nails Angelique needs a break. Her law firm sends her to Red River to work on ...more

Angelique is returning to work after beating breast cancer. While she was battling the disease, she catches her fiance and co-worker having sex with her secretary in her office. Her law firm gives her a case that should be an easy win for her to get her back to work and get her out of the office. They send her to Red River and if she wins the case, she could be destroying the whole town. Blake is Red Rivers town doctor. He's hired a lawyer to go up against Angelique to save his town. The mor

Angelique Barbetta is a pit bull of an attorney and a recent breast cancer survivor (who also survived her ex cheating on her while she was recovering), who is visiting the beautiful resort town of Red River just long enough to win an open-and-shut case that will put her on the partnership track in her law firm. Unfortunately, that case will lead to a developer sacking the present town in favor of an ultramodern development and putting most of its business owners out on the curb.

After the worst year of her life Angelique Barbetta needs a break. So when her law firm sends her to Red River to handle a case for them she jumps at the opportunity. If there's one thing Angelique knows it's that she's damn good at her job. In the past year she's dealt with breast cancer and a cheating fiancee. This case, piece of cake. That is until she meets Blake Holloway. He's one of the townspeople who stands to lose everything if they lose the case. Too bad the attraction between them is ...more

This is the second book in this series and I must say it is one I enjoyed very much. This book is very emotional.

Red River Valley is a fictional community that I want to visit. A follow up to Shelly Alexander's It's In His Heart, Ella and Cooper's story, It's In His Touch brings Coop's attorney Angelique Barbetta to Red River Valley to take over the town as her clients are wanting to take the town's businesses away and make a large development.
Dr. Blake Holloway is one of those business owners set to lose it all.

The chemistry on these to arch enemies is electric. They really can't deny it, although Angeli

I loved this hero. (sigh) Blake is strong and sexy and tender. Why aren't more heroes tender? He's such a wonderful guy, and the perfect match for Angelique, who is fierce and wounded. Alexander dared to write a heroine facing a real life challenge with sensitivity and honesty. So many women are like Angelique. i'm glad to find at least one in the pages of this novel. I really liked this story. The dog was a great secondary character who wiggled his way into key elements of the plot. A delight a ...more

Loved this 'tough gal with a tender streak' romance. The seismic shift in breast cancer survivor Angelique's priorities made her a wholly believable character even though the plot was a bit contrived and repetitious in spots.

I received this book for free through Goodreads Giveaways.

It's In His Touch follows the story of Angelique and Blake. Angelique is a bulldog of an attorney and has yet to lose a case. But when she is diagnosed with breast cancer at a young age, it really takes a toll on her. After some time off, she is sent to Red River to work on a real estate case. But she didn't expect to fall for someone on the opposing team. Blake is the town doctor, but he, along with the rest of town, are in dange

It’s In His Touch is by Shelly Alexander. This is a Red River Valley Novel. It is book two in a duo. It is really good and really easy to read.
Angelique Barbetta has come to Red River partly to recover from the desertion of her fiancé and his subsequent marriage to their shared legal assistant while she was recovering from breast cancer. As if that isn’t enough, she is counsel to a group who are trying to buy out the town and build a resort community. She just thought this would be an easy case

I picked up this book for three reason: 1. I needed something to tie me over until a book I was waiting for came out 2. I could borrow from free though the Kindle Lending Library 3. I Had read the first book in the 'series' and I had enjoyed. When I picked this up I was just expecting another romance book with funny characters especially once I read he first couple of lines. And while I was write on those counts I did not expect the other side of this story. SLIGHT SPOILER COMING....... In this ...more

After reading Shelly's first book "It's in his heart", I knew I had to read the second book of hers. Shelly has a way of drawing you into the book so you feel like you are actually in that life! In this crazy, busy world we live in, we all need something to bring us back to the simple life to see how rewarding it can be. This book is set in a small town where people care about each other. The characters in this book are interesting to say the least, and there are a lot of surprises to keep you w ...more

I loved this book. The characters were very realistic and their story was amazing. I enjoy books where the characters are believable, speak in language we all use and the story is one we can all relate to on a personal level. I loved the supporting characters and their families too. The story was interesting and had suspense, emotion, strong messages about health and happiness and good values. The main characters were both independent and successful and strong. It was also fun and funny. Angeliq ...more

This is a book that I could not put down, very likable characters that will have you laughing out loud. Angelique, lawyer, breast cancer survivor, and then to catch her fiance cheating. She takes a case in Red River Valley, should be open and shut. That is until she falls in love with the town. Loved, loved Blake, town doctor and neighbor to Angelique. He made her feel like a real woman again. I was swooning for him!!! Angelique's family are a hoot.

I won this from a Goodreads giveaway. It was a nice, light contemporary romance with interesting characters. Angelique is a tough as nails lawyer sent to Red River Valley (to work, but it seemed like she spent more time having sex and crossing stuff off her bucket list than she did work on her case). Angelique is also a breast cancer survivor who happens to be deeply ashamed and traumatized by her illness. She falls for her tall, dark, and handsome neighbor Blake, but the romance is doomed from ...more

Angelique is a lawyer. She is just getting over her battle with breast cancer then she finds her fiance cheating on her. Angelique is sent away to take on an easy case. Angelique then meets her new neighbor Blake, who is a doctor. But Blake is one who will lose all if Angelique wins said case. Angelique and Blake are very attracted to each other to top it off.
I love the twists and turns for both Angelique and Blake. The characters were excellent. Story and plot were really good also. I recommen

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The heroine, Angelique, and hero, Blake, were well-developed and believable....very easy to relate to and made you want things to work out for them. I really liked that they are both very strong characters. The author strikes a nice balance between romance, comedy and dealing with serious issues. Great story line! I am looking forward to reading the next book in Alexander's Red River Valley Series!

Angelique and Blake's story. Angelique has had a crappy year, a cheating ex fiance, cancer and her very sexy neighbor is on the opposite side of a lawsuit she's the lawyer representing the case. Humor, angst and chemistry all comes together for a great read

I rarely give 5 star ratings to romance novels because they usually follow one of two patterns.. Although this story is similar , it varies from that path because it's so well written and pretty well hides the twists in the tale. Of course it has its happy ever after but getting to that point is both humorous and entertaining. A very enjoyable book and well worth having on your to read shelf .

I really loved Angelique and Blake's story. Here she is a powerful attorney in Red River to close a quick deal for her client. She had a rough year surviving breast cancer and her jerk ex-fiance cheated on her with her assistant. A good case to sink her right in, an easy win, she makes partner at her firm. Then comes Blake, the town doctor.... This is a must read

I really enjoyed this. I don't believe its a 5 star for me. Its just not that fantastic fabulous but its close, honest.

Angelique is a complex character. On one hand I dislike her, on another hand I like her a lot but maybe that is sympathy. Shes a breast cancer survivor and in recent times has had a crap time with her fiancee cheating on her with someone from their work. Her big deal is that she carries a gene that is likely to cause breast cancer (well it does cause breast cancer but not in eve

It’s In His Touch by Shelly Alexander is a fantastic read!

Angelique Barbetta is one tough cookie. She wins court cases, deals with the aftermath of a horrific disease, and even manages to find time to be with her zany, loud Italian family. But her cookie crumbles a bit when she finds out her co-worker-fiancé is cheating with her assistant.

To keep the peace in the firm, Angelique is sent to the small little town of Red River to handle what should be a slam-dunk case. Her client has the power, an

NOTE: I received a free copy of this through NetGalley.

An enjoyable book, though not any different from other small town romance novels (Susan Mallery’s Fools Gold, Jill Shalvis’ Lucky Harbor). 2.5 stars (rounded to 3 here).

I wished Kimberly was a deeper character- her main purpose was to push Angelique into stupid bucket list items, and to encourage her to get with Blake. I was waiting for a heart to heart about why the bucket list was so important to her, or why Angelique deserved happiness, o

I liked the first novel in the series enough to read the second (and I will read the third). I finished the book yesterday, but something bothered me all night. There is a claim that the business owners don't have enough money except to hire the possibly worst lawyer in the USA, who can't afford a telephone or a computer, so the lawyer communicates using a library computer. Yet one of the business owners is Coop, married to Ella, a WEALTHY erotic romance novelist. I am supposed to forget she has ...more

I quite enjoyed this book when I first read it. I've been meaning to review it for a while now, as I received an ARC from Goodreads Giveaways, but I took too long and then I just forgot, and to the author, I apologize.
It was a really good read for me. I really connected with the story and I enjoyed the ironic moments in the book. And the puppy was a cute touch, I enjoyed that too.

This is heartfelt and emotional.
Blake has a run in with a dog that likes to bring him his owners thongs. The first time he met her he fell for her, but he was conflicted because she was the lawyer sent out to take his source of living away so her clients could make way for a resort. He wants to get close to her and show her just what his town has to offer. They both got more than they bargained for.
This book is hot and steamy and you will fall in love with everyone, especially her grandmoth

This book was alright, but I think I preferred the first one more. It's a cute story with a plot line not as transparent as some other romance fiction, but I don't feel the need to re-read this one like I do the first one. Also, wasn't a fan of the over use of the term "hells bells". Don't get me wrong, I still like this author a lot and look forward to her future work, but this one didn't quite do it for me.
