“GODKILLER is that early display of genius. A nascent voice ready to make a lot of fucking noise. It showed Pizzolo’s skills, his tastes, his balls, and it set the stage for what would come from Black Mask and Pizzolo.” -Tim Seeley (Batman Eternal, Hack/Slash)

It's like the author went out of his way to make it as perverted and decadent as possible, to the detriment of the story. I couldn't even tell what the story was really about. There's these prostitutes who eat blood but they aren't vampires and they have powers activated by sex.

Bullet Review:
This was WEIRD. Still not sure whether I liked this or if this needs to go into my file under "Perversions".
Seriously, do women own clothes in this world?! What was UP with Beezal?!

Hmm ... ultimately not a huge fan of this one. The artwork is nicely expressive, but the story is so obsessed with being as Grim and Decadent as possible that it becomes laughable. A great deal of sincere effort obviously went into this. There are some intriguing ideas, but overall it's just a little too full of itself, a little too opaque and mysterious, a little too frantic to make an indelible impression. I might read the next volume, but I feel no need to hurry.

Bad all the way around. The story is about some boy with special blood that has some sort of effect/power (not really explained) who is abused sexually and physically through the whole book. The whole mysterious plot about his blood is really dumb and aimless. The characters are all evil, and gross. The sexual bits are enough to turn most people away from the book, its over the top and once again gross. The art is really bad, sorry it just is. Skip this series, it sucks.

This was disappointing, especially after reading the reviews on the cover. I came for “a horrific yarn of apocalypse, quantum physics, culture jamming, and conspiracy theory” -Wired.
What I got was a choppy story of organ thieves, unexplained magical powers, people who don’t die from injuries, set in a post-apocalyptic world. Every character uses the taste of someone’s blood as a means of assessing their quality. Women don’t wear clothes. And sex scenes are added because that’s required to power how magic works.
It feels like it’s trying to be ‘Tank Girl’ with ‘Mad Max’ with ‘Repo: The Genetic Opera’, but has created a low budget p*rn knock off instead. It’s murky and cringey, and I should have checked the reviews here before paying money for it.

Really weird book; definitely glad I read it. I'm not enthralled by the story that much, and it's easy to tell that it borrows from lots of places, but I'm interested enough to want to read the next one, and I would just for the artwork, which is exquisite.

4.5 Not for everyone. The artwork mixes styles to make make thematic points. Weird reversed sexuality roles and magic/technology themes come together in a violent future NYC like place.

Love it. Favourite of mine. Wicked artwork. Cool story. Twisted imagination. It takes you where stories should - to the abhorrent and the journey is tremendously enjoyable.
