This is one of my favorite Sesame Street books because it shows something we never saw on the show. This is Grover before he lived on Sesame Street. We see his Mom and a girl named Minnie he used to play with. This shows a gentler side of Grover from when he was little. The story exemplifies the difficulty a child may have in making a new move, being lonely and trying to make new friends. The gorgeous illustrations by Tom Cooke are also among his best, giving a real sense of space to these backgrounds and environments. An excellent book.
