I picked up this cookbook expecting a collection of healthy recipes, but it turned out to be much more than that. The recipes are varied and flavorful, so eating healthy never feels repetitive or restrictive. I especially liked that the instructions are clear and practical, making it easy to prepare meals even on busy days. Many dishes can also be made ahead of time, which is a huge advantage for weekly meal prep.

While some ingredients may not be readily available everywhere, there are plenty of recipes that use simple, wholesome foods. The cookbook also encourages paying attention to how your body responds to different ingredients, which makes the experience feel more personal than simply counting calories.

Overall, this is an excellent companion to The Plan. If you're looking for delicious recipes that support healthier eating habits and help you become more mindful of your nutrition, this cookbook is definitely worth adding to your kitchen.

The Plan Cookbook is designed to take the recipes in The Plan and The Metabolism Plan one step further. It gives the basic recipes found in both of those books and adds many more which fall into the "friendlier" inflammation category.

You still have to do your work. These recipes may be friendly for many, but you may be that person who reacts to eggs or all-purpose flour. You will need to make adjustment. But then, you will always have to make adjustments.

This cookbook has some interesting, internationally influenced recipes. There are a few photos gathered together in the old-school way.

Worth a look if you are doing either plan.

The recipes are the real highlight of this cookbook. There’s a good variety and the more specific measurements make following them easier than simply cooking “to taste.”

I also liked that it goes beyond recipes and includes practical guidance around the plan and cleanse. Some of the preparation can definitely take a bit of time, especially when making larger recipes like soups but preparing portions ahead makes things much easier. I’d say this works best as a companion to The Plan rather than a completely standalone cookbook.

Overall, it’s a helpful collection for anyone already following the approach and looking for more practical meal ideas.

This book was provided to me by the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I’m always on the lookout for great, new cookbooks. When I had the opportunity to snatch this one up, I did so without having read the original book.

Within the first few pages, I wanted to. The idea behind “The Plan” was absolutely fascinating, as I have actually experienced immune response reactions to foods before. My husband, as well, has made numerous comments relating how he felt, physically, directly to what he had eaten and tends to adjust his diet accordingly.

However, “The Plan” is definitely not a one-size-fits-all system. You have to put in actual effort to find the right way of eating, but the recipes provided in this book definitely give you a nice, solid place to start. It’s motto, “rotate or react”, is clear, as the sheer variety of ingredients in the included recipes makes it so easy to keep your meal times interesting. What’s even better is the ingredients are mostly things you would find in your typical kitchen, and doesn’t require the purchasing of too many oddball or bizarre items that might not be available locally. That is probably one of the most appealing features of this book. If I had to hunt down natural food stores or order a bunch of stuff from online, it’d be much more difficult to even attempt this.

Included is their recommended 3-day “cleanse”, a chance to allow your body to slip back into equilibrium; to heal and to balance, with the requisite warnings of some of the symptoms you may experience while detoxing. But, the cleanse is a cleanse with real food. Hallelujah! I tried to a juice cleanse once. Worst idea of my life. Having this “cleanse” included is nice, as those who may not ordinarily stick through an entire program can still get off on the right food, and then pick and choose from the cookbook to continue without having to adhere to a particular schedule.

I am skeptical of the claim about the number of calories you take in not making any kind of a difference or not mattering. One has to wonder what happens to the calories that you take in that don’t end up getting burned off – there’s no explanation even attempted for this, so it leaves me wondering a bit on the actual science of this plan, The idea of “reactive” foods definitely makes sense, though.

I ended up buying the original book before finishing going through the recipes in the cookbook. I, myself, have been having some very oddball issues with weight, food and exercise lately and really want to put this whole idea to the test. Once I go through the plan outlined in The Plan, I’ll include my results with that review.

I started reading the Plan at my local Barnes and Noble. I was quite tempted to buy it and give it a try, though I had only gotten to chapter 4. But, $16 seemed like a lot for the book. But, then lo and behold - I received this book through first reads giveaways! I didn't remember having signed up to win it, but there you have it.

Anyway, I was thrilled! Yeah, I can start the plan. I quickly read through the book and into the Cleanse - Got set up to begin, purchasing the ingredients that I didn't already have. As I started day 1, I read further to see what I do after the three day cleanse. Nothing! I know there is more, but this book doesn't even mention it. Not a basic outline, nothing. Great. Now I have to go and get the other book if I want to continue. I kind of feel like had I purchased this book, I would have felt truly scammed. Like, Yeah! YOu started something great for yourself. Here is the first step and then .... Oh, you have to go buy the other book to learn the rest.

That is why I gave it 3 stars, that and some of the recipes are quite lengthy. What frustrated me most was I would look up one particular recipe and see that I had to go to another recipe and make that first because it was an ingredient in this particular recipe. But, then, the second necessary recipe also had another recipe requried to make one of those ingredients. I just don't have that much time to spend in the kitchen.

I think this idea and approach is very intriguing and I am giving it a try, but I still have some issues with the book.

Everyone's bodies are different. Yet we each hear the same thing - eat oatmeal, eat breakfast, drink 8 glasses of water. Yet some of these things could be the problem that is causing us to feel tired and bloated. Based on the concept that our bodies need to eat a variety of things and each body is different, the author has written a cookbook with a plan. The book begins by outlining why our bodies reject certain foods and how to go about detoxing the body to get rid of the toxins that have built up. The next section is detailed instructions and menus for the 3-day food detox. The rest of the book has all of the recipes that are to be used after the detox. Included are quite a few beautiful photographs of some of the recipes in the book.

I've read quite a few weight loss and cookbooks. This one was impressive. Not only did his explanations of how "the plan" works make sense, but his instructions are clear and concise. The recipes are simple and easy to implement. Some of the ingredients are going to be a bit more difficult to get in my small town, but hopefully that won't be a problem for most people. My only complaint would be the type of materiel used for the pages makes it difficult to actually use the book while cooking. I had to make copies of the pages since the ones in the book are thin and more like newspaper.

I received this book free of charge from Goodreads in exchange for my honest review.

If you have already read "The plan" know that these are the recipes that relate to that book, which aims to re-establish the right balance in the body of the people by removing certain foods that cause inflamation. Interesting, especially if you follow that kind of diet.

If “The Plan” works for you or you just want to give it a try Lyn-Genet Recitas came out with “The Plan Cookbook”. It’s full of tasty recipes and further advice on The Plan. If you don’t know, The Plan, is a method to lose weight and regain health by not eating food that your body reacts negatively to. We all know that some foods, even supposedly healthy one lease you feeling less than well. I’m going to get the main book and give it a try. I could stand to feel better and get rid of that last five pounds. The recipes I’ve tried were pretty good eating.

For followers of "The Plan," Recitas offers a number of tempting recipes like Butternut Squash Souffle, Chicken with Fennel-Apple Salad and Almond Grabbers that help sensitive eaters avoid "reactive" foods both during and after their testing phase. Don't expect to be able to follow the author's 20 days of food testing without consulting "The Plan: Eliminate the Surprising "Healthy" Foods That Are Making You Fat--and Lose Weight Fast".

I received this free via freebie from a give away =)

I actually loved the recipes in here. Well, the 4 that I have tried. However my kids will not even try them. That alone is the reason why I did not grade this book as 5 stars. For my household this would be a great addiction if I was only cooking for myself. Just not idea when I have to cook more than one meal to feed everyone.

The carrot - ginger soup recipe is revised from the The Plan, and this is a good thing! It contains exact measurements this time! I would suggest cutting the water down at least by 3/4 gallon of water. It was far much like broth rather than soup when the full amount of water is used. This soup was very helpful.

I looked forward to having this cookbook on hand to help me plan my meals. Once again, some of the recipes need tweaking. There are some new recipes in here that weren't in the first book. Colorful photos of some of the dishes is helpful as a visual reference.
