Perhaps my favorite in the series. It has Fuzzypeg as a trickster, celebration of literacy, nice twist on Aesop.

This is the first time reading this book, I didn’t like the style of the illustration much, but this was taken from the CITV programme so is not the original.
The story was good, but there’s no humour in this really and that’s what I like.
It was a good story though overall.

I love Alison Uttley’s delightful children’s books. Unlike Jemima Puddle-duck the Speckledy Hen is not so naive as to be fooled by a fox, but she does need all her friends resourcefulness to save her from one.
