After breaking up with her long time boyfriend, Jackson DeLacey, eighteen-year-old Zara Borzilleri promises herself to focus on school and play the game she loves. Stepping foot onto the lacrosse field, in front of a cheering crowd, pushes aside the pain and reminds her of the future ahead at least until she graduates in four years.
Lacrosse star Treston 'The King' Parker dominates the field and to everyone else he has it all. Behind closed doors he's just Treston Parker- a monster full of secrets, deep, dark secrets only he knows. He won't allow anyone to get close and for the past two years he's kept his promises to her, but never his last falling in love again.
One weekend he gives in and everything changes when he meets Zara. The rules change and she sees Treston for who he truly is, not what everyone else sees. But to Treston, meeting Zara means nothing, even though her blue eyes invades his mind.
We can be friends, but don't ask about my past or where I go.
He draws the lines. She erases his lines.
Can Zara help Treston escape his painful past before he sinks deeper into oblivion?

For the past two years, lacrosse star, Treston Parker, has not allowed himself to become serious about a girl. That is until he meets incoming freshmen and lacrosse player, Zara Borzilleri.
This is one of those books that I could not put down because of all the emotion. Every chapter was perfect.
I love Treston character. After a tragedy, he refuses to let anyone in. He struggles with his feelings and guilt. Before meeting Zara, he has no issues using women. He lets them know nothing will come out of their messing around, but most girls are still hopeful. He admits he will not become serious and let anyone in.
Zara is perfect for Treston. They are both star athletes who are loyal to lacrosse. They are hardworking and passionate. They have similar interest and a strong drive. They continually hurt each other despite being crazy about each other.
I like that Jackson is still friends with both Treston and Zara. Having dated Zara for so long he could have easily held a grudge. I like that he was above that.
Lacrosse is such a great sport that I appreciated this story being centered on it. It is nice that both characters played at Duke.
I love that the lacrosse players are like one giant family. They look out for each other and have each other’s backs. They act the way a team should.
Take Me Away is a heartwarming story that was well-written with substantial content. It is a believable story with likeable and realistic characters that grew throughout the novel. S. Moose did an amazing job writing this story. This is the first book by her that I have read. I would definitely read another story by her after finishing this book.

Most ridiculous storyline and cast of characters I've seen come through my reading list in a while. I actually read this whole book. Did not skip one word. I searched, hoped, wished, begged, hell I even said a small prayer that there would be something in the pages to warrant the money and time I wasted. I promise you you will find nothing but the weakest excuse for a storyline, characters, and reasons for angst and conflict you will probably ever read. I could leave spoilers, but I'm finished with giving this book any more of ME.
Ugh this guy ran hot and cold all over the damn stupid book. I get that his girlfriend died but to have an affair with his dead girlfriend's mother that's just disgusting to me just because he wanted to feel connected to his dead girlfriend.

Take Me Away by S. Moose is a NA genre standalone book based on a college campus. I have to say that this is like your typical college story, but there was just something that sucked me in and didn't let me go. I was lucky to read some chapters before the book was complete and let me tell you…..I had to know how this story ended. Treston and Zara stuck in my brain until I had the final ARC and was able to finish their story.
I have been a huge fan of S. Moose since I read her very first book. I will read anything she writes. What I love most about her books are the emotions she brings out in me while I am reading the story. She has the ability to make the reader feel what her characters are feeling. Take Me Away was no different. I laughed, cried, yelled, swooned and even blushed. Her books are never very long and are fairly quick reads, but sometimes that works better for the story being told. My only negative for this book, was that something happens towards the end with Treston and I thought it was to quick. I can't explain why I am feeling this way because it would spoil this part of the story, but something is led up to throughout the story, but the way it played out in the end was just too rushed for me. Now with saying that….it didn't lessen my enjoyment for the overall story. I was actually pretty happy with how this situation was handled in the end and I loved how Zara and Treston's story concluded.
" Breathe, Live, Fly…."
Those are the words that Zara lived by. I thought they fit this story well. Zara was a strong girl, who just wanted to venture into the world away from her parents who watch over her every move. Which led her to go to college at Duke so she could be on her own. She was soully fixated on her school and LaCrosse career. She even broke up with her boyfriend, so she could pursue her dreams. She was determined not to be distracted by a relationship…..that is until she meets Treston "The King" Parker. Her world was completely turned upside down.
Treston Parker…..now there is someone you won't be able to forget. Treston was truly an a$$hole, but you couldn't help to love him. He had such a broken soul, you just wanted to jump into the story and give him a big hug and tell him things would be alright. Now don't get me wrong you are probably going to hate him and want to smack him quite a few times, but trust him you will LOVE him by the end of the book. Treston was known as The King on campus….he didn't do relationships and never formed any kind of bond with the girls he hooked up with (and did the girls flock to him). He had 4 basic rules that he followed and was determined not to break them…..that is until Zara came to Duke and shook his world up.
I loved watching Zara and Treston's relationship blossom over the course of the story. I thought it was great that they started out as friends and worked towards something more. To say that these two had a rough road, was an understatement. There were some serious ups and downs with them. The biggest being Treston's hesitance telling Zara about his past. He carried a lot of guilt and was determined to push Zara away. I was glad to see she was willing to give him a shot and was able to see past his facade. S. will definitely break your heart during their journey, but don't worry she will put it all back together in the end :)
So if you are a fan of the New Adult College romance books, then I would suggest One-Clicking this book. You won't be sorry!!!! I know this is a book I will read again in the future.
Reviewed @ Confessions From Romaholics Review copy kindly provided by author in exchange for a honest review Take Me Away is my first book from this author S.Moose with my recent obsession with hockey players. I thought I would branch out and try this sport romance from her. It a lacrosse romance set at USA college and delves into the personal life of two of their star players who fallen in love over the course of the year.
I must admit , this sport is not one that I’m really familiar with we so I was curious to see this game in action. However that kind takes a backseat though all the characters aside from the parents are basically involved in the sport and either on the men or ladies team. However you shouldn’t pain them with the sport characteristic brush. These are young adults find their way and growing up in personal testing times as they deal with the secrets
For the past two years Trenton become everything he wasn’t after devastating events two years ago . He may be the same player on the field but off the field he has become a player never letting anybody into his heart at the risk of the discovering his dark secrets. Guilty chips at him away daily and he has no issue using the woman that want him. Until Zara
Zara is star lacrosse player who is entering her first year of college with what seems the perfect life. She has the perfect boyfriend and good friends not thing more. However Zara knows that not everything is right with Jackson and believes she deserves more. She doesn’t care that he moved for her and when she meets Trenton, she knows that he is perfect for her.
However Trenton is still hanging on the issues and Zara got her own. Whilst they may be perfect each other , it seems a case of wrong time as they continue to mess up their relationship time after time, hurting each other unable to let go. Despite the chemistry and the attraction
Take Me Away is a sweet heart warming story of overcoming the past and letting go. Whilst I enjoyed this book a lot. I had some issues with the ending. It seemed a little abrupt for me and wished we saw more on that end. I had no issues with the author style up to the point but it seemed she just wanted to add something to close up a particular plot point. I wished it was more fleshed out as it was a last minute twist. That was the major disappoint with the story as the characters were honest and flawed how I liked them and I enjoyed these two story.
4.5 Stars S. Moose has done it again, I love the way this author writes her characters. The love/hate relationship I had with the main character was crazy. Half the time I wanted to hug him and half the time I wanted to slap him silly… S. Moose really knows how to mess with your emotions.
Treston is one of my new favorite book boyfriends. I loved to hate him throughout most of this book. I thought he was going to be a Grade-A Asshat, he was cocky and used girls for what he wanted and then poof… dropped em like nothing. But, when I really thought about it, these dumb girls knew it, he didn’t hide it… ughh smh….( And he was hurting, deep down, right? It’s no excuse, I know)
Treston was just living his life going through the motions, being “the king” until he meets Zara and everything starts to change. Zara brought out the guy in Treston that I loved! This is when I fell for him. He treated her with such a respect… sigh. Zara was a great character to compliment Treston, she was kind of portrayed as the innocent girl next door, and I really liked that about her. Their relationship made them both came out of the shells in a way. But in true book boyfriend fashion, Treston has demons that threaten everything they’ve built…… and this is where things take some crazy turns. There are things I especially didn’t see coming that will rock your socks off.
S. Moose gives us everything you want in a new adult romance, love, loss, romance, and some crazy plot twists. She pulls emotions out of you with her characters stories that have you invested like the characters are your friends. I felt for them and cheered them on through their ups and downs. This is a great story that keeps you wanting more.
I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.
I think this is one of S. Moose's best stories to date. I didn't give it a five star because it doesn't have as much drama, and breath stealing scenes, as her Infinity series - which I love.
I think the characters are much better built and I definitely like how Zara isn't a weak female. I prefer stronger lead females. She stands her ground even when it makes her miserable.
Treston is a damaged man. Struggling to get his act together. Zara really shakes his world right up!
If you prefer and love sweet love stories this one is definitely for you. It should be at the top of your TBR.
Wow. Where do I begin? Um....let's see. Well this book is a must read. Grab a box of tissue and make sure you will not be interrupted until your finished. Amazingly emotional read. I was so glad when they found each other but I truly thought Treston was to far broken to deserve Zara. But then he surprised at the very end and showed he is exactly who she needs to be with. Love love love the characters and their stories. Hope to get more of the characters stories in the future and possibly more about this couple. I want more!
Couldn't get past the first quarter of this. The characters were terrible, completely unrealistic and unlikeable. Can't say there was much of a plot either. Don't waste your money.
'The heart doesn't understand time and when it's okay to be put back together.' Oh that line slayed me and how true those words really are. This story was absolutely amazing, at times I wanted to cry, laugh and scream at Treston and Zara, but mostly I loved every bit of this book. I loved the chemistry and pull that brought them together and hated all the obstacles that tried to tear then apart. The first glimpse we have of Treston isn't good, he appears to be this conceded jock who uses girls, then tosses them aside. Which is really true but why is does this truly heartbreaking. Zara is such a sassy, beautiful and strong girl who becomes such a vital part if Treston's life and she helps him to live again and to love. There were lots of ups and downs, heart wrenching moments but love isn't always pretty and sometimes it hurts like hell; that's another reason I loved this story it shows the beautiful side of love and the ugly and what it takes to make it work! I highly recommend this book!
This book had everything you could want. Love, humor, sadness and joy.
Treaton and Zara were such an amazing couple. At first they had a love/hate relationship going and as time went on it bloomed into something special.
Treaton is dealing with the lost of his girlfriend and blames himself. Where Zara is trying to find herself and ends up breaking up with her boyfriend who changed colleges to be with her.
They have to fight to make it but most of all the have to get passed him not wanting to let her fully in.
S.Moose is one of my favorite authors and she never disappoints me.
Zara and Treston are inspiring. Treston thought he found his forever love until it was tragically ripped away from him. He turned into a heartless, cold, shell of a guy treating women like toys...good for only one thing. Zara was a sweet, innocent girl starting college playing lacrosse just like her dad did. After she lost him, she did what she could to feel close to him. Which is what brought her and Treston together. Zara was the one to finally tame The King. It was rocky, but after many ups and downs, back and forth...they pushed through and found their forever love together.
I liked it but the ending seemed a bit rushed. I couldn't even imagine the guilt Threston must have felt. He was a major douche at first, then he met Zara. In my opinion Zara was way too forgiving.
First let me start by saying that after promoting for this lady for so long I finally afforded myself the opportunity to sit down and read her work. Starting with Take Me Away and I was not disappointed. She lives up to the hype. It's been a while since I read the New Adult genre so it was an adjustment but I quickly settled in.
Emily and Treston Parker were meant to be. A storybook romance for the ages but their story was cut short by the big "C" and a terrible tragedy that ripped her from Treston's life forever. Rocked by what's happened Treston shuts his emotions off to everyone except the very few lucky enough to be close to him. He treats women as dispensable pleasures fit to suck his cock and that's it. Not even a hit it and quit it kind of guy. Nope you won't even get the time of day. What you see is The King and that's it. And he is a KING on the Lacrosse field. He's the star and that's all he needs or wants.
Zara Borzilleri came to Duke to play Lacrosse. She was followed by boyfriend, Jackson, until she decides its time to cut the boy loose. He's been following her around like a lost puppy believing she is his meant to be but she's doesn't return those feelings. In walks The King and all of his attitude and her world is never the same. Looking at him like a walking STD waiting to happen but not being able to avert her eyes at the same time. She's repulsed by him but finds him intriguing. She keeps him at arms length but wants him with a passion she's never known.
I will say I loved the relationship but it infuriated me at the same time. These two could not get their act together. They were wishy washy and almost too hot and cold. But as much as I hated that most of the time it made me love them as well and made me root for them to get their act together. I hate going so far as to say that it was highly unbelievable because well this is College ladies and lets face it if you went you know it wasn't much more grown up than High School especially the first couple years.
The writing was awesome though and if I wasn't a fan of this lady before for more than friendship she now has a fan of her writing as well! Great job love, it was amazing and I can't wait to read more in the future!
This was my very first book by the author and good lawd, I could not put this book down. I literally stopped everything to read and finish this book. The story line and the strong characters are what makes an amazing book, this book is freaking amazing!!!
We first meet Treston, from the start we know he's in pain and that he has a past. He has experienced loss and is just existing, living life because he has to. His passion is Lacrosse that is what identifies him, he's the Captain of the team at Duke University and ALL the girls want him. But, he doesn't want them, he let's them well you know... but no one will ever be let in. He has rules and those rules will not be broken. Or will they?
Zara, is the new girl in school. She's the freshman that everyone is raving about on the lacrosse field. She too has a story, she has always wanted to play for Duke University. Her boyfriend also plays lacrosse and he went and did the one thing she didn't want, he leaves Boston to join her at Duke. Big mistake on his part, she dumps the dude. All she wants is to play and focus on her game. Then... she goes to a party and meets the manwhore of Duke, Treston Parker. Their first meeting is #Epic!!! OMG, you know this story is good simply by that meeting.
Oh, S. Moose what you have done to me with this story. Do I love him, do I kick him, smack him, hold him? What? What do I do with this fine man. God, he's gorgeous and lost and confused and I can't help but love him!!! Dios mio lady, oh and that twist that BAM! moment in the story!!! I'm still sitting here going, oooohhhhhh he did what?! loved it. High five girl, I loved everything about this book!!!!
*Beautiful Love Story *Amazing Characters *Kept me engaged the entire time *Easy to follow story *Badass playlist *that keyboard scene; swoon
Thank you so much for giving the readers a great book to read!!! I will be reading more books by you.
I really liked this book. This author is one of my absolutely favorites in the indie world. Not only does she write amazing stories but she is also an incredible person. With that, she has introduced us to a softer but angstier side of her writing with this book ( yes, a total contradiction but I promise it makes sense when you read this book). This book was absolutely a sweet love story that was sexy, angsty, and had quite a few twists and turns along the way.
This is Treston and Zara's story. When these two meet, they have an instant connection. Zara is newly single after breaking up with her boyfriend. She tries to deny it at first but can't help how she feels for Treston. Treston is the king of his college. He uses girls for sex and then casts them aside. He doesn't do love... anymore. But when he meets Zara, she is going to make him rethink that. He wants Zara but thinks he can't have her. As she two become.... friends... lines begin to blur. Will Treston be able to open up and tell Zara his secrets? Will Zara be able to wait for Treston will he finds himself?
Oh Treston... you walked that fine line of love and hate for me most of the book. I didn't know if I wanted to smack the crap out of you or kiss you senseless. Treston was broken in so many ways. He had such a rough time and faced tragedies. I understood why he didn't want to open himself up. But at times he gave me whip lash with Zara with wanting her to icing her out. And Zara, you have to admire a girl who can handle her own even if she was a pushover to Treston at times. I was rooting for these two when I could feel their chemistry.
I recommend this book and anything by this author.
Have I mentioned how much I love this author ?? Or how much I love the hot cocky college age boys that play sports and use girls !!!!!! Such a cougar !!
Ok here we go !! Treston is the classic college boy , sporty , cocky , hot and all the girls want a piece and they act as if they could care less he is using them. Sooooo why not use them right ?? Zara is a transfer and on the girls lacrosse team. She is just about the total opposite of Treston. Innocent , full of attitude but not so much cocky , determined and sweet. Zara and Jackson have been dating for years , he transferred with her and she just isn't into it. She is bored and loves him more as a friend. Nice easy break up results in Zara being on the market and Treston finding her unable to resist. All his rules and lines , she is breaking and crossing. Treston's past is heartbreaking and it is because of his heartbreak that he remains unattached and focussed on lacrosse and partying. Zara begins to break through this wall and Treston is doing things nobody has ever witnessed. The girls are freaking and out to get Zara and his friends are enjoying the light in his eyes. The problem is the light doesn't last long and he won't let Zara in all the way. Here we get the angst and drama that makes it one of those books you hate to put down. When will Treston crack and spill it all ?? When will Zara get fed up and give up on him ?? We get some serious heat and intensity but also a lighthearted fun and bit of romance. They are both stubborn and it is not an easy road for them to find their HEA. Wasted time and hurt feelings take up a big part of this story but you know you love the torture so go buy it and read it !!!!!!
I absolutely adored Take Me Away by S Moose. This book had everything in it that you could possibly want – a compelling well-written story, rich and complex characters, heart break, romance and love, deep friendships and sports! what in earth is there not to love?! I was swept away with S Moose’s storytelling. I just wanted to swoop in and fix Treston and tell him it will all be OK. Why? Well – pick up the book and find out why that sexy lacrosse star turned, well man whore is so broken and full of secrets. Find out why he sees himself as a monster. And that he has no choice but to use the lacrosse groupies that hang around-until Zara starts breaking through all of the walls he has erected.
I love how S Moose writes and develops her characters – they are never one dimensional and always have layers to them. So we get Zara with her mix of innocence and strength. Her conviction to stand by her own truths allows her to maintain her friendships throughout the book. Treston who keeps his secrets buried deep and can pull off the asshat like noone else and yet is also sweet and loving. And all of the secondary characters that gather around them that all seem to have actual personalities and make you feel as if you know them and that they have an actual role not that they are just there to move something along in the story. It is a true testament to her writing.
Each time I read one of her books, I say you all need to read. No joke..Buy. This. Book! You will not be disappointed!
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Treston "The King" Parker lived a normal teenage life until tragedy struck and stole the love of his life away way to soon. Destined to be alone Treston did what he had to do at school and put all his focus on lacrosse. The fan girls who came with the stardom found "The King" to be a challenge. They all wanted to be the girl who tamed him. Treston's new teammate Jackson has transferred from a school in Boston to be with his long time girlfriend. To Jackson's surprise Zara has decided she only loves him like a best friend, not a boyfriend. The lacrosse boys are having their annual party before school starts when Treston walks into the room and stops in his tracks struck dumb but one dancing girl. Little does Treston know this moment changes his life forever and he will be forced to face his past or lose the possibility of a future.
4 Stars
Holy emotional roller coaster. I would not says this is a book that will make you ugly cry, but there was many times raindrops were dropping out of my eye during this book. I loved the sassy girl Zara ended up being and how Treston was brought to his knees on various occasions. Their attraction and chemistry was amazing. I love when the characters are the best of friends and that is part of what makes them fall for each other. It makes the relationship more realistic. I truly enjoyed this novel and would say the majority of the time there was a smile on my face. The story of of Treston and Zara was wonderfully written and keeps you engaged until the very last page. I look forward to looking up and reading more of S. Moose's work.

“With one look he stole my breath. With one touch he woke me up. With one kiss he stole my heart. With the nights of passion that led to morning he stole my body. With three little words I love you, he stole my soul. With one name, Emily, he broke me.”
Emotional ride from the beginning. It’s beautifully written, the characters have serious depth and you can’t put the book down.
After Treston loses his girlfriend Beth, he decides he no longer wants to know what love is. He’s set a few rules in order to be around him. 1. He doesn’t kiss, the girls lips can be anywhere on his body but not his lips, 2. The girls will ever come to his room, 3. Don’t ever ask about his past, and 4. He won’t touch, sleep or return any sexual favor to the girl in any way. And he follows those rules to the tee. Treston is also the star of the college lacrosse team, which means he’s the king of campus and boy does he know it. Zara bored with her relationship, dumps her boyfriend and decides she’s ready to move on. She meets Treston and his womanizing ways seem to fall to the wayside. Will his guard finally fall down and will he finally let Zara be the “one”. I really loved this book, I fell in love with Treston, even though he was a complete jerk most of the time. And Zara was such a great complement to his character. I love S. Moose and she definitely didn’t disappoint with this book.
I am sitting here trying to write my review of Take Me Away and I am torn about what to write. I liked Take Me Away overall but at times I was rolling my eyes at both Zara and Treston but sadly the majority of my eye rolling was because of Zara. Treston is in no way shape or form an angel but the more you learn about him and his past you can kind of give him a little leeway in regards to him being a massive asshat at times. Zara almost had this aura of I’m a better person than you and even if I may be wrong at times it is all on you no matter how wrong I may be. Now don’t get me wrong at times she had every right to be a massive bitch to Treston but after a while her attitude and actions just got old. Maybe I could see beneath the pain that Treston tried to hide but deep down he was a great guy who sadly lost someone he loved very much at a young age and it changed him. Watching Treston not only move past his pain and become a better person made me love him more.
I wonder if this is a case of me just not connecting with the book because I have read other books by this author before and really enjoyed them. I am also curious to see if she will be turning this into a series later on because I would be interested in some stories for the rest of the characters as well.
This by far has been my FAVORITE S. Moose book. There is a ton to say about this one so I will do my best to get everything in here without spoilers. I was lucky enough to receive this book early for an honest review. The story line was simply amazing! S. was spot in with all the emotions in these characters as well as the college life scene. I LOVE Treston! I think more people have a love/hate relationship with him, because he is cocky and pretty much uses some ladies for his own needs, but he is honest about it and has his reasons. He is broken and still recovery from a very dramatic past. Until he meets Zara comes along. I love her. She is the type of girl you want as a friend. She stands up for herself and doesn't back down from Treston when he challenges her. And I love that. They are both strong characters and meshed perfectly together. I was actually a little book hungover after this one. Treston and Zara still haven't left my mind and I find myself thinking back to them and their story. It is a messy, yet touching story of two people learning to trust and love each other even with their faults and demons. S. you have definitely out done yourself on this one and we THANK YOU!!
This is the first book but not my last book of S. Moose. I was pulled in from the beginning. Treston is the Caption of Duke's Lacrosse Team. Since a tragedy from his teens he lives with guilt and pain from the loss of his first love. Now to deal he Lives and Breathe Lacrosse. The pain of loosing his one love he vows never to open up to another so he gets what he needs from who ever is willing and follow his rules. Zara is the New girl on compass , but her dream was to attend Duke as her father did and she inherited his passion for Lacrosse as well. She has a reputation as being the (IT ) person in all Lacrosse. She has everything in her future to make it big. Jackson has always been in her life as a child but it soon became a relationship, but feelings change for Zara and she wants to start her new life at Duke with them just as Best Friends.. Never did Treston think at one of their many parties he would meet Zara and feel things. You have 2 people not looking for more and click but with all the baggage that Treston has can he open up to Zara and let her in all the way. Can Zara get passed all his hook ups and can she compete with a ghost and the pain that Treston is holding close to him. This story is worth a read. I recommend this to all.
Treston Parker! Remember this name! He is going to be your next BBF! Now he's going to make you swoon! And at the same time you are gonna want to smack him and tell him to snap out of it! He has a past that he doesn't want to let go of. Except when he meets the one girl who could change his mind.
Zara Borzilleri
Zara is the girl who doesn't want Treston. Maybe the only one! She's solely focus on her studies and her lacrosse career. She doesn't have time for a relationship.
Now when these two start out they are friends. I loved watching their friendship blossom! And getting mad at Treston to just tell her his secret! Things start to go really well for these friends and then BAM! My heart was broken! How could I go on? Oh I know HAWT Treston is what made me go on!
Zara and Treston had a lot of issues to get thru and they have a really dynamic relationship. They have a few things that needs to work out! Can they make their relationship work? Or is it too late for one or both of them?
Do not hesitate with one clicking this book! Do it! You will not be disappointed!
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, betrayal, pain, secrets, twist & turns and heartbreak.
This is Zara and Treston’s story. Zara and Treston are both attracted to each other but Zara just got out of a relationship and he does not date. They decide they will just be friends but the feeling grow can they really just be friends? With Treston’s secrets can Zara trust him fully with her heart? Does he even want her to? Can she keep the just friends going when she wants more? What happens if they become more than friends will Treston tell her is secrets or still keep her in the dark? Should they just go there seprate ways as the tension between them is noticed by everyone.
There were times I wanted to smack Treston with a brick and other times I loved him. Zara was sweet but I felt gave into Treston to easily at times (one of these times was in the end of the story I felt she should have made him fight for her more). But all in all I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
S.Moose has quickly become a favourite author of mine. This book was perfect for me as it covered my most favourite genre of Sports Romance. And it was unique that the sport was lacrosse, and not the usual football or baseball. S.Moose was very clever when writing about Treston the leading male as she gave him 2 very different sides, on one side he was a player with a heart of stone, on the other side he was a good and loyal friend with a heart of gold. I loved deciding whether I was going to love him or hate him. I in fact loved the bones of him. Thanks S. Moose for making him so wonderfully complex. Zara, the leading lady, www as easier to understand, but this balanced the complexity of Treston. The supporting characters made this story great. It moved it from a love story between 2 people to a story of love, friendship and a whole lot more besides. I love this author, her style suits me and captures me from the very cover. In this case the cover model Gunnar DeWitt portrayed Treston perfectly. I'm already looking forward to reading more from this author. Well done S. Moose I am more than happy to award this book
Treston Parker is officially mine...yep, I'm licking him! Seriously, once you read this book you will feel the same. You will probably want to smack him too, or bang both their heads together!
So, Treston - star Lacrosse player and pretty 'damaged' - spends his days screwing around with woman (on his terms, by his rules) while trying to forget and block out his past. Along comes Zara Borzilleri to mess up his carefully stated rules. Zara is also a star Lacrosse player and the pair have a pretty tumultuous relationship at the beginning. He winds her up...she gets pissed off. Through many twists, turns and downright 'awww' moments, they finally realise they love each other. But Treston won't let Zara in, and Zara gives up.
Months of drama and heartache later they reunite but the past comes back to haunt them. Will their relationship survive?
Once again, another story from S Moose that I loved. She has rapidly become a go-to author for me. Take Me Away should definitely be on your tbr!
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. 4* read. S moose is a new author to me and after this book I will be purchasing her other books too. It wasn't quite a 5* for me as there was to much up and down for that but it was still a great read and well worth 4*s. When Treston and Zara first meet there's this instant connection that you as a reader feel too. Zara's just broke up with her boyfriend so tries to deny her feelings for Treston at first. Treston's your typical man whore who uses girls for sex and that's all. When he meets Zara he wants her but his stubbornness and secrets cause a lot of conflict (bit to much for my personal liking) Question is will Zara still be there when Treston realizes and will Treston divulge his secrets. I loved this was a great read apart from the constant conflict was a bit hard to keep reading at times but apart from that it was a perfect read.
