BEFORE READING THIS BOOK:

I am NOT the only one who is DYING to read this book! I mean, LOOK at the cover!! THAT IS FREAKING EVER!!! And, the cover's beautiful and all, but seriously. You cannot tell me that this synopsis does not make you burn with impatience and excitement!

With the Godmother Guild destroyed by Teague’s army, Mina finds herself without the guidance of her Fae Godmother. Alone and confused, she must lean on her friends for support. Then the dark prince threatens their very existence with a show of power on the human plane that has everyone running for their lives.

To save them, Mina must make a deal with the prince to become his prisoner or lose her friends forever. But is there any hope for Jared and the love they briefly shared, or must beauty destroy the beast she created?

Let's analyze this profoundly, shall we? First, of all, as we know, Ever is going to be her new Godmother, which is awesome because I love her and believe she is an amazing person and friend. Now, I don't know exactly how Teague is going to threaten them, but my best guess is a war or killing them. My point is, whatever it is, it most likely ends up with all of them dead. Right? Their RUNNING FOR THEIR LIVES. But, is he threatening everyone? All humans? Don't know. And, honestly, don't care after what comes next. Prisoner! AHHHH!!! Yes!! Love it! Is he taking her back to the Fae plane as a prisoner or what?!
...
Jared. Jared? Jared!? Freaking Jared!? Okay, I am going to be completely honest, I'm getting tired of Jared. At first, I was like, "Yes!" But, after I found out that he was Teague's good version, I was like, "Teague! I love you so much, please get over yourself and get rid of the darkness in you heart so you can be your old stubborn, dreamy self!" I mean, you people do realize that Jared is Teague and Teague is Jared, right? I don't even wanna hear his name, anymore. Because Jared doesn't exist. He's not a different person than Teague. Teague was split and his other half was named Jared. So, now "Jared" lives inside Teague, making him TEAGUE!!

Also, you do know this is another tale, right? I mean, "must BEAUTY destroy the BEAST she created?" Really? Heck, yes, I'm ready for this! It couldn't be more crystal clear! Prisoner, rekindle the flames of a brief love? Beauty and the freaking beast!! Can't wait!

AFTER READING THIS BOOK:

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

Wow, this book. I don't know what to say. I really, really, really liked this series, but I think we all dread the moment when the final book comes out because you're just not sure what to expect. That synopsis had me all hyped up because it implies that the plot will be something along the lines of one of my favorite fairy tales, Beauty and the Beast. Because as we've come to anticipate the more books you read in this series, they all have a theme, a fairy tale they are based on.

It kills me, absolutely KILLS ME, to give this book three stars. I'm very tempted to change it to four, we'll see, maybe if I reread it in the future, after all, I read the whole thing in one day.

I was extremely happy that the romance between Teague and Mina was...furthered deepened, I suppose? It was still going on. However, at the start of the book, I felt like things were a little rushed. Mina's mother died in Chapter 2 and Mina and Brody had the talk of let's-just-be-friends-because-you-belong-with-your-true-love-which-happens-to-be-my-best-friend-Nan, so he's out of the way, and we find out that the Grimm siblings are actually half Fae because their mother was The Little Mermaid, like, where did that come from?! WTH? Anyway, I was not completely bothered by that fact because at least Mina and Charlie got these awesome siren powers and I do not mind that at all.

The middle of the book was the best part, in my opinion, because we finally start seeing evidence of that Beauty and the Beast theme. She's locked in a dungeon, then she's moved to a room, then she's let out to roam, and then she starts cleaning the palace with help of some light creatures because she's bored out of her mind and she can't leave because then their deal is off and Teague kills her brother and friends. You know, the usual. You just got to love their romantic notions. But, then, King Triton here appears out of nowhere while Teague throws a tantrum because he's dying and practically kidnaps Mina to introduce her to the whole siren family/community. Introducing, the Grandparents.

Fast forward a bit, seriously, I hated that dream/vision she had about Teague after that. I mean, talk about betrayal, I felt so bad for him. Mina PROMISED she wouldn't leave him, she looked straight into his eyes and promised and now he was screaming for her, reminding her of that promise. Wow. I don't know if this makes me a little twisted, but I empathize with Teague.

I was glad for Ever and Nix. Yes, they finally got together. Ever officially became Mina's Godmother, though honestly I didn't see any true special magical link between them other than Ever being more of a bodyguard.

Also, I mentioned already things were a little rushed, right? Well, that goes for the action in this book, too. There was always a battle going on, and I get it - we're in the middle of a war, technically - but the only time Mina really got a breather was when she was a lonely prisoner and when she was talking to her friends in the beginning. Maybe I'm wrong and many of you disagree, but I think part of me feeling like there was always some danger that kept her on high alert and on the move was because of the general atmosphere. Everything was bleak and dying, there were so many horrible (violent) things happening, and though the imagery was great, I just felt sad, a little. The Fae plane, man. The Fae plane.

I wanna point out one more scene along the lines of it being rushed. Jared. In the mirror. From the dream. I don't really have a problem with this scene because she finally - FINALLY - figured out - or, well, accepted - the fact that Jared is a part of Teague and that they're one and the same. She finally admitted that she loved Teague in that scene. Thank you.

Oh! But, then, at the end, Jared and Teague turn out to be two different souls because they'd been apart for a long time? Honestly, by now, I don't give a shit about Jared (excuse my English), he is soooo two installments ago. #HeartTeague #Forever

And that dying scene at the end. I was having a heart attack. Seriously. Just frozen. I had to wait, like, five minutes before I could keep reading and even then I read one sentence at a time, putting down the book and taking deep breaths after each one. I just couldn't accept that Teague was dying and I was furious - okay, more like just mad - when Teague was the one the dog/wolf thing attacked, leaving Jared - JARED! - to be with Mina, and it bothered me a little lot that they kept saying that a part of him was in Mina's heart because that's just plain bullshit unless you're talking about something magical. But, then I was fine, because she ended up with Teague anyways because who would've known that even though he's sort of dead (he IS, like, half dead, right?) he can still live with Mina forever, yay. TEAGUE, not stupid Jared. (Honestly, I don't know where all of this hate towards Jared came from, I swear I loved him in the first three books. I think it's just because it bothers me that they keep calling him Jared because HE. IS. TEAGUE! People, he is Teague! They're the same person, you're hurting his feelings whenever you call him Jared because come on, like he said in the mirror dream at the beginning, he wants to be recognized for who he really is and that is an extension - a duplicate - of Teague. I just want everyone to know that he's Teague. Even if at the end they say he was a separate soul, they still had the same mind and memories.)

I was not greatly content with the ending because I felt like it was lacking a bit of emotion. I would've liked it if Teague and Mina were alone and talked about hey we're married, we're the new Fates of this world, maybe a kiss or three, whispered sweet nothings, fast forward get pregnant or something (can she, though? Since he's technically Death itself right now? I don't know, that's confusing. Also, I think he's white eyes are a little disturbing, I liked his blue eyes!). Face the fact that you will now spend the rest of your life in the Fae plane, like, wow! And you kinda ditched Brody and Nan, aren't you going to miss you're best friend? I guess, they'll just have to go back to their boring, human lives sometime.

And, now that I've said all of these things I'm going to finish by vowing to read this book again soon to see if I'm not being biased by my lack of sleep because of my eagerness to read this book. But, can you blame me? I had been waiting to get my hands on a copy since it came out, and even before that! I don't know, it just felt a little off. I don't like giving bad reviews. And I won't say I'm disappointed because I asked for the final book and I got it, but I will say that it did not really live up to its potential. It just feel like it could've been so much better.

PS. I almost forgot! I mean, I don't think so - I don't dare hope - but what exactly did you mean with "my story is done, but your story, Ever...is just the beginning?" Do I smell a new series on the way? Hmm...

This book was unbelievably good. It was well written and the plot was so fantastic!!!

Although the whole thing was a roller coaster of emotions, it was so amazing.

Starting off: I about stopped reading when her Mom died. That was not okay with me at all. Her making a deal with Teague followed by Brody falling for Nan and sending away Charlie was heart wrenching yet beautiful. The excitement in this book was constantly building. Who knew Mina could see the future! Although her visions confused me at some points, it made her so much more awesome. When Mina finally faced the fact that Jared was just Teague, and admitted that she loved Teague, was the best moment in the entire book. It's about time that she cleared that up. As she traveled to the Fae plane and faced the fates, I praised her sass. That was so fantastic. When the time came that Teague called in their deal and took her to the palace, I thought for sure that he would make her miserable! But they became friends and it was incredibly cute how much you could tell that he loved her. As soon as she promised never to leave, and then her grandfather comes in and forced her away, my heart broke. I mean yay she found her family but Teague would never trust her again; plus he started hunting Charlie again after she disappeared. I loved that she was a siren! Everything made sense in this book. All the open ends came together and made this an amazing book. Her training to strengthen her powers were riveting and when that final battle came, I was on the edge of my seat. When Mina stabbed Teague, I couldn't believe it. It was like my world ended. But Mina was strong and kept fighting. Once Mina had said goodbye to Brody and Nan, and crossed over to the Fae plane to try and save it from dying, and Annalori ordered the reaper to kill Mina, I was going to scream I was so upset. But then the reaper turned out to be Teague and oh my gosh. He came back!!! And he was fighting to be with her!!!! They ended up together; him the darkness and she the light. It was an amazing book. The only thing that would have been better was if their wedding was actually in the book and described. But the whole thing was amazing. And I rejoice that Ever and Nix fell in love and are now the new Grimms. I just love it. Completely brilliant.

I recommend this book to everyone.

Especially if you love having our heart ripped out multiple times along with yelling in agony before you melt because the story is so touching. It was a fantastic book.

"Will Beauty have to destroy the Beast she created?"

Gonna keep this short mostly because I've read this book a few weeks ago but I totally forgot to review it but also because I really don't won't to spoil anything for you guys.Just know that I'm very happy with how this series ended and I think you'll love it too,if you haven't already read it.I'm surprised to see that some people say that the story was confusing because I didn't find it confusing at all,in fact I found it to be more interesting than the previous one and I enjoyed reading it immensely. What can I say, antiheroes rock my world.

This book! aghhhhh
It took me a while to really get into the book and remember what was happening because it had been so long since I had read the last one.
I felt like the death of Mina's mom was kind of abrupt and the whole time I was waiting for her to come back some how.
In each of the books, there was a main quest or fairytale (little red riding hood, snow white, rumplestiltskin, Cinderella) and in the last one, Beauty and the Beast. and in the books, each fairy tale was based off of actual fae lives. But the only one that wasn't actually a quest was the last book, Beauty and the beast. You never hear Mina say anything about the story "Beauty and the Beast" in any of the books. Which makes me think that maybe the story of Mina and Teague was the original Beauty and the Beast story. Which is REALLY cute!
The whole "Jared Concept" was really annoying me. Mina and the characters weren't recognizing that Jared is Teague. Jared isn't an actual person!!!
My favourite part of the book was definitely when Mina was locked in the castle with Teague. I loved how you could see Teague softening around her and the fae were helping her fix the castle.
I have mixed emotions about Mina being part Siren. It all makes sense, but I think I would have liked it better if she was just a special human instead of part fae. One of the reasons I disliked her being part Siren was the whole "Lure" thing. How are you supposed to know if anyone likes her at all? It was an interesting concept, but not my favourite.
I was ready TO SCREAM AND THROW MY IPAD AT THE WALL when I thought Teague had died. Well technically, he did die. Although I wasn't expecting it, I really thought Chanda Hahn brought him back in a cool and interesting way. MINA AND TEAGUE ARE FINALLY TOGETHER! YES!

I couldn't help but feel sad at the ending. All the magic of the book was over and I found myself missing it. It also made me sad that Mina wouldn't be adventuring, or up to her old tricks. Because if anything happened to her, the fae world would be screwed. But most of all, I was happy that she was happy.
I'm sad that it's over, but 100% happy that I took the time to read this series!

"'I lost my heart a long time ago, to a prince in a story.'"

We made it. The last book in the Unenchanted series. It’s been a winding road, but we’re here. As you can tell from my rating, this was my least favorite. It got really slow at points, and I never had much drive to ever read it besides just wanting to finish it. Not to say there weren’t any intense parts!

There was banging in kitchens! ಠ ͜ ʖ ಠ
"Nix was so preoccupied with banging around in the kitchen…"

There were unsuccessful swimming attempts!
"'Tried to save the world. Drowned doing it.'"

"'This will be an interesting tale to tell my insurance company.'"

It sure will be Brody, it sure will be.

Honestly, what more could you possibly ask for!?

Oh wait.

This book was so frustrating because one of the best parts of the whole series was basically nonexistent. If you haven’t guessed, it’s Jared. More on this in the spoiler section. Instead of Jared… we got… Teague. *Shudders* I. Hate. Teague. I know that there’s lots of people who love him (for some reason) but I just think he’s the biggest creep ever since he got reunited with Jared. Here are some disgusting quotes so you see what I mean! :D
"[Teague] stood up and slowly walked around her. ‘… every… single… move.’ He leaned in on the last word and inhaled the scent of her hair."
Gross
"[Teague] chuckled at [Mina’s] fear and reached out for her face. She turned away, but he gently plucked a strand of hair off her cheek and tucked it behind her ear."
So fucking creepy.
"[Teague] turned to [Mina], his face lighting up in an evil grin. ‘I’ll spare your friends, but I’m not done with you.’ Within seconds, he was pressed up against her, his hand cupped around her face, his thumb just brushing the corner of her lip."

Ugh

While I was feeling Jared withdrawals I at least had my beloved Ever and Nix to entertain me. These two, man. Love them.
"'We need to get stuff for my Grimm. I’m not going to let her starve.’
‘I’m not going to starve,’ Mina argued, but Ever held up her hand.
‘Nope, starve. You’re worthless.'"

So mean, yet so succulent. Nix on the other hand was always such a sweetheart.
"'The Godmothers weren’t sure I’d survive the crossing either, but you were worth the risk. Turns out I’m fine because I’m fully human now. You didn’t abandon me, and I won’t abandon you.'"

After they think Nix died: "'Oh Nix, I’m so sorry for all the names I called you,” Ever confessed. “For putting salt in the Pixy Stix when you kept stealing them. For telling you cartoons were real.’
‘What do you mean—they’re not real?’ Nix shouted from the other side of the ship."

Mina was strangely smart as usual. I dunno, for some reason she doesn’t come off as being smart, so when she is it’s a surprise.
"'Emotions make you weak,’ [Teague] said, as if his own jelousy and rage weren’t emotions."

Burn
That wasn’t really an example of her being smart but it was a sick burn, so.

There was lots of Brody Ex-Machina.
"'I [Brody] was following you [Mina]. I followed you to the Country Club, and then I followed the bus.'"
Does this kid have zero responsibilities? No homework? No water polo practice? How does he always have so much time to follow Mina? Also, I never really addressed this, but unlike a lot of people I don’t hate Brody.

"…‘I drew the short straw for today.’ [Brody] sighed, trying to make it sound like a huge inconvenience.
‘I’m not a straw,’ Mina said.
‘No, but you are short.’"
Ba dum tss. Anyone who makes fun of Mina is good in my book.

Now it’s time forrrr: Spoilers!!!! In case that was not clear, if you haven’t read the book yet then don't click the very enticing (view spoiler) button.

So yeah.
description
I think I would have enjoyed it more had I read it in longer sittings. After I finished it my Kobo told me that I averaged four minutes per reading session, at 2 pages per minute. Woooww. Not great. But like I said earlier, it just wasn’t capturing me.

Overall this was a very enjoyable series, and as you can very obviously see, it affected me in very many ways. I would recommend it to someone who is able to take it easy with their books. This is not a series to criticize and overanalyze the crap out of, and if you take it lightheartedly it's a very fun time.

Oh my feels.... Gah....

This is so bittersweet!
I'm going to miss these guys so much!
My only consolation is that (like The Iron Butterfly series) I can revisit them again and again...

I can't possibly express how much I love Mrs Hahn's books!

All of them!

Yes, I repeat, ALL OF THEM!

Hahn ripped my heart out with this one!
It was Beautiful! I'm such a mess right now, forgive me if I'm a little incoherent...

I will not say anything of the plot, because let's face it, if you're reading this you already love it (possibly as much as me, doubtful, lol) and I can't say anything, I wouldn't want to spoil anything for you.

With that being said, AMAZING!

Thank you Mrs Hahn for such an beautiful conclusion for one of my favorite series!

OK I'll stop fangirling now...

I'll leave you with theses parting words...

She created the beast, and now she would have to destroy him.

I can't wait for the next series!
How soon can I have it???????

Happy Reading!

Really loved the ending of the series. I was really worried about more deaths of characters after the death of Sara in first three chapters. Mina grows mature and accepts her duty better than earlier books. I was expecting somewhat more romance between Mina and Teague, so I was disappointed with that. However the book has a bit realistic touch when Teague didn't get alive after stabbed again with erjad knife. I was expecting otherwise!

It was a fun read and has a happy ending. What more can we ask for?

Story is fast pace and has many twists and turns. 4.5 stars for finale of my favourite series! However if I had more romance between Mina and Teague then I would have given it full five stars!

Enjoy the read fellow fans!!!

I don't know what to do with my life now that I've finished. I just finished about 2 minutes ago and my heart is aching just knowing it's complete. This is definitely one of those books that makes you think 'what do I do with my life now'. Chanda Hahn I applaud and salute you. Well Done.

After 2+ years of Chanda Hahn and this series, I have to say that the final Unfortunate Fairy Tale series was both a relief and a disappointment. It was disappointing because of all the sudden romantic match ups, ones that were barely even hinted at in previous books, the quick-paced feel of the book, and the confusing scene jumps and happenings.

However, that's usually how series books end, so it's not a big deal.

On the relief side, I'm pretty impressed with the ending. There were many plot twists, at least one every two chapters, that kept me turning the pages, anxious to know what was going to happen next. There was some seriously magical character development for Mina and for Teague, which was interesting to see. Mina struggles a lot with her feelings throughout all five books, but manages to finally make up her mind about not only her family and romantic life, but her own identity and future as a Grimm and

One of the main reasons I love this series is Mina's strong, selfless personality that's also quite relatable, especially as she grows in this last book. She continually chooses her family and friends over herself, whereas in Fairest her jealousy and self-interest got the best of her. She has flaws, she has emotions, and that makes her a character you just want to follow throughout.

In terms of romance, I wasn't expecting Mina's choice and end.

Anyway, I do recommend this book, it's a great way to end the series and an amazing end to Mina's journey. I'd even recommend it to your pre-teens who really like fairy tales, because this series is a fantastic one.

Ok. I just want to start by professing my love for everything Chanda Hahn writes. I've read this entire series and the Iron Butterfly series and LOVED them both. I enjoy that her female leads are strong women who have powers in their own right and don't feel they have to rely on the men in the books for rescue. On the flip side I always seem to fall completely in love with the lead male characters as well, so it's not like they don't play an important role.
This last book was full of action and had a very high paced feel to the entire book. I remember looking down and having only 27 pages left and thinking "How can she possibly wrap up this entire series in less than thirty pages?" Pretty neatly, actually.
Because there's so much going on in this book I felt a little rushed with some of the revelations. Mina coming into her fae power seems to happen all at once, yet even she admits that she had tapped into it before, so it's not SUCH a far cry that she suddenly has such great powers. Also we learn about Mina's mother and where she came from and it's quite the curve ball. There was never any indication or hint previously, but it's just kinda dropped on our laps as fact leaving us to juggle with it. Lastly I was almost downright pissy when everything that Mina does seems to still backfire on her and literally the only thing she wanted, other than the safety of her friends and family, is taken away. Fortunately this is one story with a happy ending but it really seemed for awhile that I had spent five (and a half) books hoping for her to end up with the fae Prince Teague or get mysterious Jared back somehow or at least have the knight in shining armour Brody to find out that it was three strikes and you're out for Mina. To be completely honest, though I loved Jared, I preferred Teague because who doesn't love a bad boy?
All that silly ranting aside, I truly love this series and this last book ties everyone/everything up together nicely. Everyone seems to find a place and the bad guys get theirs and all the wrongs seem to be righted. A great conclusion to a great series.

I'm disappointed... The book started out ok, but then Sarah, Mina's mother died quite quickly, and then of course, even though there was practically no indication in the previous books... There was one part in the middle that was okay, but then that gnome came back, and then a war was waged and the Faes came raging into the human world, and FINALLY Mina faced up to her fate, and even though she loved him, she killed Teague. That was how the book should have ended. But then somehow, the sea witch brought back both his and Jared's spirits? I was okay with that even, because they had to leave, and all was as it should be. And it was so, until I guess, Teague came back after saving Mina from the gnome, and they got married? Even though he is DEAD???!!! I was just- ugh. And the fact that all of her friends coupled up?? Okay, Brody and Nan I was okay with, because their was done clue to it in the second book. But Nix and Ever? No way. No chemistry before hand. And then Mina just passed down her curse to Ever, and went to ruling her jolly kingdom, as an 18 year old queen married to a dead man.
There were just to many unexpected twists that suddenly anything could happen. She was a Fae. Nix and Ever were in love. Mina didn't look human at all, all her life she was wearing a glimmer, Teague died but came back as a half life? Oh yeah. Makes perfect sense.
It wasn't all bad, of course, but it just made me mad. In the first book, I'm paraphrasing of course, but Nan told Mina that some fairy tales ended quite grim. But in actuality, all the rules were broken so that this book turned into another cliche love story.

Disappointing

I've been reading this whole series and I was so looking forward to this final book. I got it and found to my disappointment it is poorly written, full of grammatical errors and typos, and basically crap. It in no way lives up to the other books and reads like a middle school creative writing rough draft.

A quick paced read with unexpected twists & turns peppered with surprises on the way.Loved & had a great time reading it, though feel sad it's over but glad & happy it ended on a happy note.
So finally Mina gets her happy ending!:))))
Only one complain- thought it lacked romance between Mina & Teague :(((((((
Altogether quite an UNFORGETTABLE SERIES!!!

Loved it! Just not as much as the other books. I noticed many spelling and grammar errors as I read, and I was taken out of the book when Mina returned to her plane (and left the fae plane). I would have much rather seen more with her and Teague.

AAAAAAHHHH!!!!! What a great ending to an AWESOME series. I loved the ending. Everyone got a happily ever after. I wish there was a series that went on tell the adventures of Ever. That would be really cool. The only thing that was a problem was the editing. The editing was really bad. There were mis types all over the place that needed to be fixed. But other than that, this may have been the best series that I have ever read.

This brought such inner turmoil, because before I even say anything; I would like to establish that I hate Nan. For no apparent reason, I just really dislike her.

But, Oh My Gosh Darn Petunia, I loved this book. I waited months for this book to be published and I jumped the gun as soon as it was available on Kindle. I have read the entire series, and I just want to cry, knowing that this is the end of an era. I have read Chanda Hahn's other series as well, as this one by far exceeds even the love I have for the other stories within her repertoire.

Literally this book tugged so hard at my heart strings I almost died. Literally this book has no faults. I want a Teague for my own, and seriously? Mina ended up as a ? Unfair, but faultless. I just love the way it was written, and the fact that I finished it with one and a half hour should speak for itself. I was lead to believe that due to the author's nature, the book's ending would be slightly sad, and although there were sections where I balled my eyes out - I have a particularly good relationship with my mother - I still felt very satisfied. And even the slight twist with Ever at the end just made me smile. Gosh darn it, let me have a Teague please!

All in all, this is a glowing review for the entire book. Gripping, well written, and just utterly amazing, I want to commend the author for writing the best finale to a series I have ever read. And now please allow to cry, whilst I wallow in my own sad reality.

~"I’m plotting my own demise,” she teased, keeping her eyes closed. “Because I know that falling for you will be the death of me."~

Wow! I'll admit, I was afraid after the last book that the author was going to lose me in this one. Things were starting to twist together in all these weird ways to the point I was thinking, "D*mmit, just let Mina find her HEA already!" Not to mention, I was afraid the author might lose steam with all the creativity she's shown throughout this series. However, despite my fears, I hoped--oh, I hoped--that this book would be so much more. That it would do this series justice. And the author did not disappoint.

For me, the book did start off a little slow. I knew I couldn't give up on it, though. I pushed forward, and then I didn't want to stop. There were certain aspects of Mina's love life that I was still up in the air about from the last book, and the author did a great job of solving that issue for me. Just like she solved every other issue that popped up for me along the way. I was guessing and re-guessing all the way to the very end. And the end... It worked out wonderfully. Everything came full circle in a way that fit the story perfectly. A great end to a great series.

After four books that were disappointment compared to what they could have been, Forever comes as the one which got away. I am not sure if I liked it because it was better than the others or because it was that good but the fact is it broke the curse. The.plot was moving fast and sometimes it looked rushed but it didn't ruin the narrative. The series didn't have the aura of darkness the.story tried to give it so the deaths ruined its fluidity but I think I actually disliked them more because they came all of the sudden and were clumsily described. it was as if the author wasn't sure if she wanted to keep the story light or dark. Also, the constant love triangles were awfully cliche and annoying but in this book things kind of found their way. I guess what I liked the most was the beauty and the beast scenes, in the palace especially.

oh and a question ... the little mermaid was not a Grimm tale so is it okay being part of this book?

So, Charlie, Jared, Ever and Nan rocked. Mina was painfully stupid and Brody dull as a character. I wish the first five books were closer to the quality of the last book in order to make this series tolerably good. I am not sure if I will read it again and that's disappointing because the core idea of the.series was amazing.

This has been so utterly confusing. Note to other readers: make sure you read all these books consecutively. If you don't you're apt to forget everything that has happened, I know I did.

Though, when I got past that the book was pretty good.

This was a nice ending to the series. I feel like it wrapped things up pretty well. I just really love the characters in this series. And I love all the paranormal creatures and beings. Such a fun series.

Knowing your the reason your family has died in the ways they did can make a girl go crazy, but it’s a good reason Mina is already on the crazy. Mina is strong, brave, and strong hearted are all good characteristics to have when you’re cursed. After losing so much Mina starts to wonder if she’ll ever get her happily ever after. Brody and Nan have been given the gift of keeping their memories even after one story is done, and it’s all for the better because they’re always going to be brought into this. But they both love Mina in their own ways, and have a soft spot for Charlie too. Having friends, Fae and human ones, to stand by her and her silent brother is a good thing because once the Godmother’s Guild is destroyed a Death Reaper comes for Mina, but instead of it killing Mina it kills her mom Sara.
So now that Sara is dead something inside of Charlie is brought to the surface, and he is no longer silent. With the grief and the worry of Teague showing up is enough to need Ever and Nix to stand by her side. When they head out for supplies they are brought to the school which was having a fair, and Charlie wanted to go, so they figure no harm can come from a fair, but are wrong when Teague shows up. Arriving only brings more Fae, and none that are good. Trying to fight Mina is brought face to face with Teague, and needs to save everyone when they hear an ear shattering scream that comes from Charlie. But that doesn’t stop Teague and his army, so Mina makes a deal that leaves her twelve hours. Starting to face the truth about her relationship with Brody she realizes that he and Nan share something very special and this time it doesn’t cause jealousy this time. Back at the house Mina asks Nan to take Charlie somewhere knowing that Brody will go with them. So with Nan and her two very special boys gone she is left with Ever and Nix only to know that soon Teague will come for the dagger that poisoned his heart so long ago. He comes to take the dagger and Mina with him, and that is how it will be forever. Or till Mina finally learns that her mom was a siren, and is taken from the palace by her grandfather. Knowing that she broke her deal she heads back to the human plane to find Charlie before Teague does. This only brings war and the deaths of many. Even now that they have won will Mina get her happily ever after?
To find out how this story by Chanda Hahn ends you have to read Forever to finish the series up. With twists and turns similar and different to the books before this ones you are left with wanting more. I loved the characters, story line, and mystery behind the whole series. The need for liking fantasy is a must when reading this series, but the fact that it is fantasy doesn’t stop the kid in you to be brought out. Start with the first and end with Forever to see how the story of Mina Grime ends.

Like any good hero, Mina sacrifices herself to save her family and friends. But when she finds herself locked in a tower with the beast, can she not only learn to see past his beastly nature but convince him that he is more than the curse has made him?

There are sirens in this book. And they are scary, although as they explain it, they only kill people who are stupid enough to go places they have no right to be, so that's okay. We also finally get an explanation of how the grim reaper works and a few blasts from the past reappear. A l0t has to happen to reach an ending and Mina spends most of the book convinced that it won't be happy for her. I love that Ever and Mina finally become friends. I think it sneaks up on both of them, although it's both shocking and inevitable considering their history. It also felt like so much more happened in this book than the previous ones, but as always, we are kept guessing and the happily ever after (due us at the end of any good fairy tale) was not what I was expecting or what I remembered. But it was satisfying. I also desperately want a spin-off series with the adventures of Ever, but I suppose I shall have to get used to disappointment.
