Two women--Mimi, a former good girl with a penchant for bad boys, and Giselle, a gorgeous, high-maintenance diva who gets married for the wrong reasons--discover that their lavish lifestyles come with a high price. Original.
This is the first book I'm reading by this author and I'm hoping it gets better than this.It had some parts that were really good but I believe the story was dragged out to make it longer. These girls in this book annoyed me. It was a bit unrealistic at times. I also figured out the big twist very early on in the book so I was pretty bored by the time I hit the middle. This author gets in E for effort because I'm not impressed. Hopefully it gets better in the other titles she has.
This was better than the average urba-lit book in my opinion. I'm annoyed that I had it on sitting on a shelf for so long when I could have read it awhile ago. :) The story revolves around Mimi, Giselle and their men. Or maybe I should say man. ;) The plot is most definitely unique and the characters are built well. I enjoyed reading it and look forward to more from Williams.
I think my favorite book I ever read. Found it in my school library at like 14 years old. I never returned it, I am 32 years old and still have it on my shelf, pages tattered and cover bent and splitting from reading it 40 times or more. I would love this on kindle, but my physical copy will have to do. I love the writer, I love the story, I love the way I feel connected to the characters. Growing up in the environment that I did, this is so relatable to me in so many ways.
I thought it would be the same old urban street lit storyline with different character's names, but the twists were played out magnificantly...3.5 stars.
