This one was….not for me. It had so many things that make me struggle with a book in it. The characters are not compelling, the pacing/writing was really difficult to read, it felt really juvenile and had no depth, and finally, as a nurse, this one was IMPOSSIBLE to suspend disbelief while reading. So many weird ideas about hospitals/healthcare workers that were inaccurate and silly. Just….so bad. It was immediately offputting as someone that takes their career seriously, to see all of those inaccuracies.

I’m having a hard time relaying who I think it WOULD work for, which is always a policy for me when giving a harsh critique. Perhaps those that enjoy books that feel a little like old school Wattpad? I think that would be compelling there (no judgement here! Many love that!) Ultimately, this is not a book I would recommend, but free will exists, and please feel free to give it a shot if you are someone in this category.

Brandon gets hurt on the job as a firefighter and wakes up in the hospital physically banged up and with a concussion. Nurse, Autumn, who grew up with Brandon quickly realized that he also has one more injury, selective amnesia – he has completely forgotten ever meeting or knowing Autumn. Autumn ends up being assigned as his home care nurse, living with him as they get to know each other again and Brandon heals.

On the surface, this sounded like an interesting basis for a second chance romance but there were just too many moments that felt off that I just couldn’t really enjoy the story, overall. Autumn seems to think she deserves for a superior at work to punish her for not wanting a second date with him – not to mention, the situation just seems extreme for one incomplete date and rejection of a second. That situation eventually resolved, but not because she really did anything to help it. At the same time, I’m not sure why it was even included as a subplot since it doesn’t seem to have any real impact on the story.

Brandon and Autumn have history together but is pretty much that they shared their first kiss, then she saw a girl hanging on him at a party, and she – with no conversation or discussion about it – pretty much ignores his existence for 10 years.

There were just too many little things that took me out of the story. I kept listening to try to see if the reveal was worth it, but it wasn’t, and everything seems to be just dandy between them and they are in love inside of a week.

Vanessa Edwin and Jason Clarke do a good job with the material. They each did well with the dual narration style, voicing all the characters in their chapter.

I really enjoyed this one. Right up until some of the healthcare things came up- at which point I suspended all of my belief in the way healthcare and the human body works because if authors can take artistic license in the name of plot, so can I. I recommend potential readers do the same.

A chapter or two later… Never mind. Thought I could do it. I thought I could suspend all belief but I can’t. It’s gone too far. This story needed a beta reader in healthcare. Preferably a nurse or someone who knows a nurse’s scope of practice.

I really wanted to like this story. I enjoy the author’s voice and tone. I think the characters and side characters are lovely. But the actions are so far from believable that I can’t get into it.

I’m sorry. I DNF at 47%. I value my work as a nurse and the work of other healthcare disciplines too much to even pretend any of this is remotely close to reality. Thank you to the Author Agency for this ARC.

I appreciate the opportunity of getting to read this book early. I wish I could have loved it but it’s just not for me.
The plot is adorable and has promises. It is a second chance romance between a nurse, Autumn, and a firefighter with amnesia, Brandon, who remembers everything else but her.
Where it falls flat for me is that Autumn didn’t tell anyone that Brandon didn’t remember who she was not even the patient that he has amnesia. Which feels wrong. The other part is the fact that Autumn’s parents died in a car accident, bad roads and bad weather, yet she drives reckless on a dirt road that is on the side of a mountain with a passenger in her car. She a nurse she sees tragedies all the time and did not care about who she could hurt. Even with the firefighter telling her about roll overs on the mountain. Then it becomes a joke throughout about her driving like she’s racing in Daytona. Everyone’s different but I had a loved one pass away in an accident and I have the worse driving anxiety because of it.

A charming, heartfelt small-town romance, with fall vibes.

Yours Truly, Fall was the cozy romance that I love, and the one that I needed. I adored Brandon and Autumn; their banter, but also the way that they fell for each other. I know that Autumn had doubts about him, because of what happened in the past, but I thought that she should let the past go, give them a second chance. In the past couple of years, I fell in love with the small-town and second-chance romance trope. Yours Truly, Fall is the type of second-chance romance that I love. I couldn’t help but smile; the way that Autumn took care of Brandon and made sure that he was healing the way he should. I do believe there was more than one reason that she agreed to take care of Brandon.

There were quite a few moments between Autumn and Brandon that had me smiling. I was rooting for the two of them from the start. I have read a few books that dealt with amnesia, but the way S.L. was interconnected with the rest of the story was unique. I wondered if Brandon would remember or if this would be their second chance to start over. I loved the Season sisters, and don’t you just love their names? I didn’t know it was a series until I started reading this one. Now I want to go back and read Summer’s book. Once again, I love the depth that S.L gave to the characters; partially Brandon and Autumn. She also always has a way to connect you with all the characters. There was part of me that didn’t want book to end, and I’m hoping that Autumn and Brandon will make appearance in the next book.

It’s no secret I love a seasonally themed contemporary romance. I LIVE FOR A FALL LOVE MOMENT. Autumn Season (FMC) is one of the Season Sisters. She’s a nurse, living with her sweet grandma and other Season Sisters. Autumn was shocked by what she found on the night shift. She walks in to a patient’s room to find a recovering Firemen who was severely injured on the job. Brandon (MMC) is a struggling firemen who’s spending his days horizontally attempting to get his life back. His injuries have caused some memory loss. So, when Autumn walks in, he doesn’t remember who this woman has always been in his life. Autumn remains professional and doesn’t close any of those story gaps for him. The one beauty of someone forgetting you, is you get to be whoever you want to that person. Autumn becomes Brandon’s on home help. Slowly, but surely, he remembers who Autumn is- his personal, his very best friend and his forever love. But who was Brandon to Autumn and what happened when they were 16 to cause Autumn to hate Brandon and take space for all those years?

I know a lot of people hate the amnesia trope but I enjoy it when it’s done well because there is so much opportunity in it. And S.L. Scott executed this perfectly because he’s been in love with her his whole life and even with amnesia he’s obsessed because his soul still recognises her. Brandon himself might say it was fate, I would argue divine intervention, but honestly I don’t care what led to it because it made an amazing story. Hurt firefighter and his house care nurse is a forced proximity love story for the ages. Autumn carries so much hurt but when she remembers the beauty of who Brandon really is she can’t resist him, and damn I wouldn’t have been able to either. He’s flirty, he’s charming, he is freaking jacked and he’s good at communicating his emotions which is a GODSEND in any man. His mind may have forgetting her but his heart certainly didn’t as he shows this overwhelmingly sweet love and he’s willing to wait for her, even if she doesn’t want to acknowledge their past. I will be honest, the real reason why they fell apart when they were kids did have me slightly disappointed because it was a little underwhelming compared to all the buildup we had towards it. However they were teenagers so I’ll give them some grace. This is one of the sweetest and most romantic rekindling of a relationship I’ve seen, and their love is so sweet and pure I was in tears by the end. This is an amazing addition to this series and I can’t wait for Winters book! I give this a 4.5/5

Such a cute book! I did an immersive ARC/ALC with this one, and the audio added so much more depth to the story for me. I love a first-love-to-lovers trope, and with the added amnesia twist, I was really captivated by their second-chance romance.

Brandon was so sweet, especially with how much he just wanted to keep Autumn all to himself. 🥹 And Autumn, even with her hang-ups of their past, loved him to her core. They were so much fun together, and I really enjoyed getting to see their relationship unfold.

I will say, I went into this expecting more of a true “fall” vibe. The main character’s name is Autumn and her nickname is Fall, and while a portion of the book does take place during fall, I wouldn’t say you get a particularly atmospheric fall feeling from it.

Regardless, I didn’t find myself missing that aspect. Honestly, I didn’t even think about it until I was writing this review and realized I went into this ARC hoping to kick off some cozy fall reading. 🤣 That’s on me, and on judging a book (and title) by its cover!

As a nurse with a huge soft spot for firefighters, this cozy seasonal romance hit all the right notes for me. I was hooked early on, and it turned out to be the perfect autumn read. While the nursing portrayal wasn't entirely realistic, the trope itself was still a lot of fun to read through!

Well, small town, fire fighter, nurse, known each other most of their lives, amnesia, forced proximity, no 3rd act break up, and an HEA....could we ask for more. NOPE. This was so good.

I was given the ARC to this one, as I was the 1st book in the series and I'm HOOKED!!!

Fall remembers Brandon, but he doesn't remember her. He was injured in the line of duty and along with it, has a concussion and remembers most things....except her. Why? She'd like to know and is very frustrated because so many years ago, he hurt her.
Now, being a nurse and his nurse for the night, she remains professional caring for him while trying to figure out, if he actually does forget who she is, and he does.
When he realizes everyone around him knows her, he wonders why he doesn't, so she finally opens up to tell him.
When she is put into a position of being his at home care taker as he recovers, she finds out, she is no longer mad at him, he's a good guy and it's in the past. When she lets it go, they're able to get closer and be together as both have them have wanted for so many years. No more hiding feelings.

I loved how the connection was between the two of them, the way their relationship developed throughout the story. It had all of the sweet, emotional with a cozy fall vibe feel. I can't wait for the next Season Sisters book to come out!

Well if this didn't get me in the mood for fall, I don't know what would! S. L. Scott delivered another cute romance that had me kicking my feet and smiling so big! Brandon Culver is EVERYTHING you want in a man! A hot firefighter who is flirty and in need of a nurse? YES PLEASE!

The romance between the two characters is a slow burn, but it's totally worth it!! Their banter alone was worth the read! The complimented each other so well, and their chemistry was off the charts! Seeing them fall for each other after everything they've been through was so cute!

If you love a small town, second chance with a firefighter and a nurse, this one might be right up your alley! I could not put this one down! If you're an audiobook person, Jason Clarke, Vanessa Edwin and Ava Erickson did an amazing job at adding even more to enjoy! What's not to love about a small-town series based on four sisters, each named for the four seasons because their last name is Season? It's delightfully charming and heartfelt, which is to be expected, because this crafty wordsmith has yet to steer me wrong.

When Branson Culver is injured on his firefighting job, Autumn Season becomes his live-in home health care provider. Above all, Autumn takes her job seriously, so she won’t let foggy memories of the past get in the way of helping her patient heal and return to work. But there's a lot of past, and eventually she and Brandon will have to address it in order to move on.

A series about sisters is a treat, but it’s only sweetened by their unique, endearing personalities and their wise but feisty family matriarch. Full of humor and charm with heaps of heart and a side of steam, this will be a favorite for all small-town romance fans.

This is a well written easy to read story, with family, friendships, emotions, forced proximity, workplace romance, friends / lovers, second chances, healing, humour, witty banter, challenges, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, small-town romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Brandon is a firefighter struggling with amnesia, and Autumn is the nurse helping him through it. I really loved watching their friendship turn into something more. And Brandon falling first? YES. 🥹 I’m always here for a man who knows what he wants.

I loved their connection and how their relationship developed throughout the story. It was sweet, emotional, and had all the fall vibes. This was such a fun read and definitely one I’d recommend for anyone looking for a binge worthy seasonal romance! 🧡🍁

This audio was SO good. 🎧 Vanessa Edwin and Jason Clarke were amazing, and Ava Erickson was such a great addition. They really brought the story to life and made it hit so much harder. I’m so glad I listened to this one. 🖤

What a cute story! This is the first amnesia story I've read & there were so many opportunities to create comedic moments... Suzie did all of them & then one I didn't see coming, but had me belly laughing through the scene. I mean, when you wake up in a hospital (after rescuing a dog from a freaking inferno... like, can he be a bigger, swoony hero?) & there's a hot nurse tending to you, you gonna try to flirt a little, right? Of course!

“I do need you...”
“Not for the right reasons.”
“How wrong can they be?” His expression lifts, a smile tempting the corners of his mouth upward.
“You need me to stay because you like the company.” It’s not exactly a bad thing that he wants me around for his own benefit. That street runs two ways. “That’s all.”
“That’s all I need, for you to know I want you to stay.”

And when she shows up at your house unexpectedly & you happen to be shirtless, you give your bicep a little flex, right? Duh!

I jerk up to see her, stupidly forgetting about the injuries, and fall back in pain, gritting my teeth to keep from bellowing like a . . . well, like a wimp in pain... But her seeing me lying around like a lump on a log isn’t exactly how I'd hoped to run into the beauty again.

Getting that key to the city with her eyes latched onto me. With a shirt, but damn, I want to be shirtless with her. That’s how I want her to see me—strong, upright, and hopefully finding me as attractive as I find her...
The hot nurse coming to check on me? Welp, a little heads-up so I could make myself more presentable would have been nice...
Her eyes travel from my injured shoulder to the healthy one, where her gaze lingers. I tighten my hand into a fist in a desperate attempt to flex my muscles, but her gaze has already slid above my head.

But then when it seems like she's gonna be staying at your house & you don't like the idea of a stranger as a roommate (no matter how hot she might be), you call for help... literally. And what does the hot nurse do? She tackles you. Damn!

“Why would you be staying?” This has gotten awkward. “I think I should call the hospital.”
“That’s probably best...”
“Let me get everyone a glass of water while we’re waiting.”
Waiting . . .
Waiting for the hospital to answer.
Waiting to find out what the hell is going on.
Waiting for this woman to stab us to death . . . “Mountain Laurel Cove Hospital, how may I direct your call?”
“Hi, this is Brandon Culver. I was released earlier⁠—” ...
“How can I help you? Is everything alright?”
“I’m fine. But I currently have a little situation going on.” I keep my eyes on the rogue redhead as she inspects her cuticles, tapping her foot like I’m putting her out. I lower my voice and hold the phone closer to my mouth. “A nurse showed up at my house.” Autumn’s eyes dart to mine and narrow. “I think she’s in distress and needs⁠—”
“What?” she shouts, running for the phone. Lunging toward me, I hold the phone just out of her grasping hands... “Distress? Are you insa⁠—”
“I need help.”
Falling face down in my lap, she pushes off so fast that she lands on her ass, gasping for air like a fish flailing on the docks. “Hang up, Brandon!”
I maneuver myself to peek over the couch just as she pops up and grabs the phone from my hand. Devious little thing. “Hello?” she says, getting to her feet and walking away from me. “Stacy? It’s Autumn . . . Yes, that’s right . . . He’s fine⁠—”
“Help me, Stacy,” I yell just as she starts down the hall with my phone.
“He doesn’t need help, but the concussion might be worse than we realized,” she says nice and loud for me to hear...

These two bumbling fools keep up the awkward, yet totally adorable interactions throughout the story & I swear, I almost got secondhand embarrassment from a couple of scenes. Haha.

As for toothpaste, I sneak down the hall into his bathroom and load the bristles before tiptoeing through the bedroom.
“Ack!” A tall figure stands in the shadows of the doorway. Brandishing my toothbrush, I jab it in the midsection and run down the hall to Brandon under the echoing groans behind me. “Wake up, Brand—oh no! ... Brandon, is that you?”
“What the fuck, Autumn?”
“Oh no. I’m so sorry.” With the light behind me, it’s hard to see anything other than a figure brought to its knees. Rushing back to him, I say, “Logic didn’t kick in, and I thought I was being attacked.”
He groans louder and looks up at me. “Attacked by your patient who happens to live here?” ...
“Well, um, you were wandering around in the dark⁠—”
“In my own house...”
“Valid point. Sorry, I’m used to a house full of noisy people who stomp around on creaky wood floors. It’s so quiet here. I didn’t hear you and didn’t expect you to be walking around. I thought you were still asleep.” I drop to my knees and cup his face with my hands. “Look at me, Brandon.”
His gaze flows from the floor to meet mine, and each harsh breath of his softens. The lack of bright light can’t hide the way his eyes caress me...
“I think you’re going to live.”
“Tell that to my abs.”
Leaning down, I say, “You’re going to live,” and walk back toward the living room...
“I was expecting to get help, but this isn’t how I imagined home healthcare worked.” He’s not wrong.
I’m screwing this up. I’ve already “tackled” him as he put it, and now I’ve brought him to his knees by wounding him with a hygienic tool. Not how I prefer to bring a man to his knees. “It’s different for everyone, but I haven’t made it easy. I’m sorry for stabbing you with my toothbrush and for not making this easier on you, which is in my actual job description.”
He chuckles but winces. “Stabbing your patients with toothbrushes is in your job description?”
“More the latter part.” I laugh lightly...

The things I liked about Suzie's writing in the first book—her ability to choreograph a scene in a vibrant, realistic manor & create likeable characters—were very much present in this one too & I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet, heartfelt romance.

“Is that from today?”
“Probably. I don’t know. Would I even notice anymore?” he says, his tone matching his sourpuss expression.
I smooth a clean bandage over the wound, and eye him suspiciously. His pout is ridiculous, but I can’t help myself. “Do you want me to kiss it and make it all better?”
His eyes light up. I roll my eyes, kissing the tips of my fingers before pressing them to the bandaged wound. “You’re all good again.”
He reaches up... [to] touch his lips. “What about here?”
I really hate how handsome this man is. So distracting. He really makes it hard to look away. “You got that charm of yours working overtime...”
“Believe it or not, it comes natural...”
“I think I have a boo-boo that needs kissing, too.”
With his hair hanging over his forehead and some blood dried on his chest, he couldn’t look more rugged and masculine. I’ve waged this war before... “I can do you one better.”
“Oh yeah?”
Tapping his nose, I say, “I can call your mom to do it.”

Such an adorable audiobook & these narrators absolutely understood the assignment. If you've been around my page for a minute, you know that I'm a Jason Clarke fan... so yeah, no surprise from me, he did a great job with this performance too.

My heart thumps in my chest just from seeing her. My head spins in disbelief that I can kiss her now anytime I want, fastening me to this moment, to the desire to see it last forever...
How am I supposed to function like a normal human being when I have a goddess with nothing underneath her T-shirt standing before me.

But this was my first experience with Vanessa Edwin & after this, I'm definitely a fan. Of course there were sweet moments, which these narrators did very well, but there were also several funny moments & I think that's where their performances stood out, especially Vanessa's. Both narrators made the comedic scenes come alive & I laughed out loud more than once. 😂

Should I have looked again? No. Do I regret it? No. I mean, look at him. Wonders of the world are meant to be admired. It’s actually ridiculous that a man existing in this little town of ours can be that attractive, funny, charming, ugh. He’s all the things. How is that fair?
As if winning all the titles in high school from prom king to athlete of the year wasn’t enough. Getting a full-ride scholarship to college and winning some fancy architecture award everyone in town was praising him for wasn’t enough. Nope, he still chooses to put his life on the line to help others and volunteers regularly in the community. And on top of all that, he gets blessed looking like, well, looking like him, too? Cheez-Its on a cracker.
I thought it was cruel to have the guy who hurt my younger self not even remember me. But it’s a real bite in the ass that he turned out looking like a GQ model. Does his fortune have no bounds, for Pete’s sake?

Despite my better judgment, I look his way. Good gracious . . . Is he serious with this? He’s been shirtless all day today, just like he was yesterday. Even at the hospital, he managed to hang around in the gown. But adding water, rolling over those ab muscles, gives me a whole new perspective on the four, six, eight situation he has going on in his midsection. Is he even human at this point?
Sucking in a breath, I pull the door wide open. “Whoa. It’s huge.”
“I’m a big guy.”
“That you are, but I’m referring to the shower...”

While this is the 2nd book in the series, there isn't much crossover between the stories. As someone who has enormous amounts of bookish fomo, trust me when I tell you, you can totally pick up this story without reading book 1, & won't be lost in the slightest. Aside from getting Summer's story (which is very cute), there's a teensy bit of teasing this book's couple's backstory in XOXO, Summer (book 1), but otherwise, this story is wholly their own.

I LIVE FOR A FALL LOVE STORY. 🍂❤️ Give me a cozy small town, a little history between two people, a handsome firefighter, a dedicated nurse, and a second chance at love, and I am absolutely going to settle in and enjoy myself.

Yours Truly, Fall was exactly the cozy romance I needed, and I absolutely adored Brandon and Autumn.

Autumn Season, or Fall to her sisters, is a nurse who has returned to Mountain Laurel Cove and is focused on her career. Brandon Culver is a firefighter recovering from injuries he sustained on the job, and because of his injuries, he's dealing with some memory loss.

Unfortunately for Autumn, the one person Brandon doesn't remember is HER.

And that is where things get really interesting.

Autumn remembers Brandon.

She remembers their history.

She remembers what happened between them when they were younger, and she's spent years keeping her distance because of it. So when she finds herself caring for Brandon again, she has to figure out how to separate the man he is now from the hurt she carried from their past.

And I loved watching her do exactly that.

Because Brandon?

Brandon is EVERYTHING. 🥹

He's steady. He's dependable. He's flirty and charming, but there's so much more underneath that easy confidence. He's caring, thoughtful, protective, and he actually communicates his feelings. A man who knows what he wants AND can talk about his emotions? YES PLEASE.

I was rooting for these two from the beginning.

Their banter had me smiling so many times, but it was the quieter moments between them that really got me. Autumn taking care of Brandon while he's recovering gives them so much time together, and as they settle into their routine, those old feelings start making their way back to the surface.

Or maybe they never really left in the first place. ❤️

I also really enjoyed the way the amnesia was woven into their story. I've read books with amnesia before, but I thought S.L. Scott used it in a way that actually added something to the romance rather than simply being a plot device.

Brandon may not remember Autumn at first, but his connection to her is still there.

Watching him get to know her again, while Autumn slowly starts lowering the walls she's spent years building, was so sweet. There were so many little moments between them that had me kicking my feet and smiling.

And Brandon falling first?

YES. 🥹❤️

I also really loved Autumn. She's caring and dedicated, but she's not just defined by being Brandon's nurse. She has her own career, her own goals, and her own history to work through. I liked watching her realize that holding onto the past was keeping her from seeing what was right in front of her.

Sometimes a second chance isn't about pretending the past never happened.

Sometimes it's about finally allowing yourself to move forward from it.

And that's what made their relationship work so well for me.

Then we have the Season sisters, and can we talk about how adorable those names are?! Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring Season. I didn't even realize this was part of a series when I picked it up, and now I absolutely want to go back and read Summer's book.

I loved the family dynamic and the way S.L. Scott gives her characters depth while still making the entire cast feel connected. Even the supporting characters added something to the story, and by the end I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Mountain Laurel Cove.

I'm also really hoping we get to see more of Autumn and Brandon in the next book because I wasn't ready for their story to be over. ❤️

This was such a feel-good, cozy, romantic read with all the fall atmosphere I could ask for. The small-town setting, second-chance romance, firefighter and nurse pairing, forced proximity, friendship, banter, and Brandon falling hard for Autumn all worked together so well.

And honestly, could I ask for more?

Second oldest Season sister, Autumn, or as her sister’s call her “Fall”, has returned to Mountain Laurel Cove as a nurse. After accepting a date with one of the doctors in the hospital she works in, she has found herself in a career pickle after not agreeing to a second date. He has done everything in his power to make her basically not succeed… her seniority was taken away, she’s stuck on overnights dealing with data and not handling much patient care as she has been trained for. Although she reported it, the higher ups seemed to sweep it under the rug.

Firefighter Brandon Culver was hurt on the job, caught in a backdraft. He lands in the hospital with a concussion and a few bumps and bruises, some worse than others. Due to his injuries, his days and nights are flipped. On his second or third night, a new nurse is on the night shift and he is immediately drawn to her. Brandon has lived in Mountain Laurel Cove for the majority of his life. He’s never seen this nurse before, so he figures she must live somewhere else. He turns on the charm, which doesn’t have that much of an effect on this nurse as it does on other women.

The dastardly doctor (that has harmed Fall’s career) decides that she should be Brandon’s home healthcare nurse while he heals, and so that there is some distance between her and the hospital (meaning the doctor). And if she doesn’t, then he’ll have her transferred to a different hospital (what is up with this dude’s ego?).

As happy as Brandon is to see Fall show up on his doorstep, he doesn’t want her there to take care of him. But it seems to everyone who is there with him, his mom and his friend from the firehouse, that he can’t be left alone just yet. And to further confuse Brandon is that Fall seems to be very friendly with both his mom and his friend. What he doesn’t remember is that he does have a history with Fall, that goes all the way back to around the time her parents died. They were very close until they were 16, and then something happened to make Fall keep her distance.

Being immersed back in Brandon’s life after 10 years of no contact was a lot for Fall, especially once she realizes the only thing he doesn’t remember is the time around the last fire call when he got hurt and her. Somehow, they settle into a routine together as nurse and patient. But as they get more comfortable with each other, Fall’s walls start coming down. Especially after a certain shower scene…

Fall knows she needs to fill Brandon in on their past before they get any closer, but she has finally realized that she’s built her life around the hurt he caused and she needs to let it go. As sparks fly, and the line between being his caregiver and becoming something more blur, Fall shares with him her side of their story. Although some of their history has been coming back to him, this triggers even more. What could have been hashed out all those years ago finally comes to the surface, and Fall feels the weight of the last decade fade away. Now to only have to deal with that stuck up doctor and get her career back on track.

I was rooting for Fall and Brandon from page one. Who wouldn’t want the hometown hero and the dedicated nurse (not just to her patients, but to her Dolly and sisters) to get their second chance at happily ever after? Scott novel, an enthralling small-town second chance romance that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings throughout. You can not help but love the Season sisters, and the names their parents gave each of them: four sisters, four seasons. The sisters lost their parents in a tragic car accident, and their grandmother, Dolly, moved in with them to look after them all. The tragedy affected each of them differently, and Autumn, aka Fall, the second oldest, took it especially hard because of something her mom shared with her just before her death. She became a nurse, had left home for a while, but has returned and works at the local hospital. Brandon Culver, a firefighter and the most eligible bachelor in Mount Laurel Cove and three surrounding towns, gets injured in the line of duty and lands in the hospital. There is history between Autumn and Brandon, with him being there for her during a dark time in her life, and all was good until it wasn’t, so it did not end well. Now he is her patient, and being the professional she just puts what happened in the past behind her. Oddly enough, Brandon does not recognize her and thinks she is new to town, so his head injury left him with selective amnesia. She gets to see the Brandon she remembered him to be: sweet and swoon-worthy. She was having issues with a doctor she worked with, who gave her an ultimatum, one she jumped on. Working as a home nurse while Brandon recuperated brought them even closer, and it was watching them get reacquainted. From the start it was clear these two had unresolved feelings towards each other, his anew because of his memory loss, or maybe still deep within, and hers ran just as deep and were just as strong. Scott delivered another masterfully crafted, multi-layered story that has the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and a slow-burn romance worth waiting for. Once again, the writing, plot, and world-building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. S.L. Scott, thank you for another wonderfully entertaining story and emotional rollercoaster ride, a story that warms your heart and puts a smile on your face.

🎧📚🎧 Jason Clarke, Vanessa Edwin and Ava Erickson are wonderfully talented voice artists who are amazing at what they do, bringing the characters and story to life from the pages to your ears. Jason Clarke and Vanessa Edwin cover the roles of the two lead characters, Brandon and Autumn, with Ava Erickson making a guest appearance. They embodied their roles completely, grasping every facet of their characters’ personalities, with Clarke nailing it as Brandon, perfectly charming and swoony in the role. Edwin was just as amazing in Autumn’s role, showcasing her personality perfectly too, while bringing out her every emotion. These two make a fantastic team, with voices that complement each other and an entertaining performance that not only hooks you on the story and dialogue, but takes the already fabulous story to another level.

Yours Truly, Fall was my first book by S.L. Scott, and what a cozy introduction to her writing. This was such a light-hearted, adorable small-town romance with just the right amount of emotion, romance, and a little mystery to keep things interesting. It has that warm, comforting feeling that makes you want to curl up somewhere cozy and just enjoy the ride.

The second-chance romance worked really well for me, especially with the amnesia element. Because even when Brandon can’t remember everything, there’s still this undeniable pull toward Autumn like his soul recognizes her even when his mind doesn’t. I loved that aspect of their relationship, and watching them find their way back to each other made the romance feel extra sweet.

Brandon is the kind of hero who is incredibly easy to fall for: steady, dependable, protective, and just genuinely swoony. Autumn is focused and determined, but being around Brandon slowly makes her question the carefully planned life she thought she wanted. Their chemistry builds naturally, and the forced proximity gives them plenty of opportunities to get closer while keeping that slow-burn feeling alive.

Jason Clarke, Vanessa Edwin, and Ava Erickson were such a fantastic combination. Jason and Vanessa carried the main roles as Brandon and Autumn, and they completely embodied their characters. Jason was especially wonderful as Brandon charming, confident, and effortlessly swoony while Vanessa brought out Autumn’s personality and emotions beautifully.

Ava Erickson’s appearance was a lovely addition as well. All three brought so much life and personality to the audiobook, and the voices complemented each other really well. The performances made the dialogue feel natural and helped those emotional moments hit even harder.

I was so excited for the second installment of the Season Sisters series, and I was not disappointed. Yours Truly, Fall was such a cozy, heartwarming second chance romance with plenty of humour, great banter and just enough emotion to pull at my heartstrings.

Autumn, aka Fall, is a nurse who has spent more than a decade avoiding Brandon, the boy who broke her heart when they were teenagers. Brandon is now a firefighter, and after an accident lands him in the hospital, he wakes up with a bit of selective amnesia, shall we say. He remembers his life. He just doesn't remember Autumn.

This creates such an interesting dynamic because Autumn has more than a decade's worth of feelings about this man, while Brandon basically gets to meet her again with a clean slate.

When Autumn ends up becoming Brandon's live-in nurse while he recovers, avoiding him is no longer an option. She's forced to spend time with the man she's held a grudge against for years, and slowly starts to realize that maybe there is still something between them. And yes, she's also forced to acknowledge that she is still very, very attracted to him.

Meanwhile, Brandon has no idea about all of the baggage Autumn is carrying. To him, she's simply his gorgeous, funny and slightly quirky nurse. His interest might initially be driven by attraction, but as he gets to know her, he becomes completely charmed by everything that makes Autumn who she is.

And Autumn really is a character. She's smart and funny, takes no shit and has all of her quirkiness laid right out on the table. I loved getting to know her through her internal dialogue because some of the things going through this woman's head had me giggling.

She's also a little stuck. She wants a relationship, wants to be out on her own and knows she wants more for herself, but hasn't quite been able to move forward. And part of that means finally dealing with something from her past that she has believed for a very long time.

I really liked that aspect of the story. Sometimes we can be absolutely certain we know what happened because we saw something with our own eyes, only to realize later that maybe we didn't understand the situation at all. Autumn has spent more than a decade carrying something she believed as a teenager, and part of growing up is being willing to look at it again through a different lens.

I also loved the way Brandon falls for Autumn. He doesn't want to change her or tone down the things that make her who she is. He embraces all of it. In a way, he's getting to fall for the woman she is now without the baggage of their past, while Autumn has to learn to see the man he is now instead of the teenage boy she remembers.

These two had such great chemistry and I loved their banter. There are definitely moments that pulled at my heartstrings, but more than anything, this was a warm, funny and uplifting love story about growing up, letting go of old assumptions and giving love another chance.

Now I'm very ready to step into the next season and get Winter's story!

Yours Truly, Fall was an enjoyable listen. I adore Jason Clarke and always love his narration. He can easily do dual POV, and not all men can. I honestly found myself forgetting the book was not done in duet; he’s that good! The female narrator, Vanessa Edwin, might be new to me (the jury is still out on that while I do some research), and she was the perfect Autumn Season. Jason and Vanesa told the story together seamlessly and had me totally engaged throughout every chapter.



When it comes to romance, second-chances are my kryptonite, and when you throw in that it is written by S. L. Scott, then I’m not missing it. The story itself called for a little imagination when it came to whether or not the events were plausible, and even though I questioned whether Brandon’s specific amnesia was possible, it didn’t matter to me. It made for a great story where two people could overcome the past, accept the misunderstandings that may have happened, and then reunite.



For me, the banter and sexual chemistry, which also created immense sexual tension, made this story deeply enthralling. Brandon was unabashedly shameless in all his innuendo, and it is no wonder Autumn could put her anger aside and fall in love with the new version she let herself get to know. This was a great second book in a new series, and of course, I’m excited to see Spring and Winter fall in love next.

I would rate this story a 4⭐️

This story followed Autumn a nurse in a small town and Brandon a firefighter who recently experienced a life threatening injury while on a job. When Autumn cares for Brandon in the hospital, it becomes apparent to her that Brandon does not remember her, despite knowing her for all of their lives. Selective amnesia, she calls it. He remembers everything except the incident that lead him to be injured and Autumn. Once released from hospital, Brandon requires a home care nurse to watch after him for a week longer. A Dr who has taken to “punishing” Autumn for a date gone bad years before, send Autumn to care for Brandon in his home for a week. From there, Autumn needs to decide if she can put the past behind her and if she should tell Brandon about the past that they share.

Autumn was such a placid, kind and caring person, she was everything you’d expect a nurse to be. She is very self aware and open to taking the opportunity in front of her to put the past behind her and move forward with Brandon with a clean slate. She is also professional when it comes to providing him care, mostly. Autumn’s relationship with her siblings and grandmother was also so close knit and it was evident that she is very family orientated.

Brandon seemed to struggle with being hurt, he seemed to have to always be doing something that the concept of resting to heal was not welcomed. He also didn’t realise he was having as many memory issues as he was, unaware that he unknowingly was lusting after the girl who he had hurt in the past. Brandon was a very strait forward guy who wasn’t afraid to say and go after what he wanted.

I really liked this story, I’m not sure if the amnesia storyline is something I have read before, and it definitely added an interesting element to the story, waiting for Brandon to remember. The forced proximity also provided some really funny instances to happen, including when she first arrived. I laughed out loud when that happened. I also appreciated not having a third act breakup, even though I was waiting for it, it never happened. Overall the story was just a comfy cosy story about a second chance romance granted by unfortunate circumstances.

Vanessa Edwin and Jason Clarke with Ava Erickson all did a fabulous job with this audiobook. Jason Clark’s voice suited Brandon well, reserved, deep and you can almost see the smirk when he talks. Vanessa Edwin is also a pleasure to listen to. She’s very expressive and you can her the emotion through her voice. They both made this book an absolute joy to listen to.

Yours Truly, Fall by S.L. Scott is a sweet, funny, and cozy romance about two people who get a second chance at love as adults. I really enjoy stories like this; there’s not a lot of drama, just a focus on the main characters finding love together, and this book fits that perfectly. S.L. Scott also has a real talent for making readers, like me, smile, laugh, and care about both main characters.

Right now, Autumn and Brandon’s love story is one I won’t forget, and I really love these two characters. That might change after I read Winter and Spring’s books, but for now, Autumn stands out as a sweet and down-to-earth character who really resonated with me. (And this is coming from someone who loved Summer’s book, too.)

Autumn is determined to work at the hospital, even when someone makes things tough for her, and she still cares for Brandon, even though he broke her heart years ago. Brandon, on the other hand, can’t remember Autumn because of mild amnesia from a firefighting incident, but his heart still feels drawn to her. As they spend more time together due to her nursing him back to health, even with some bumps along the way, they start to realize they were always meant to be together. The romance between Autumn and Brandon is a slow burn, but it’s worth the wait. This story was really touching, and I can see myself reading it again in the future.

This book doesn’t have much drama except what is happening to Autumn at work, but that is handled toward the end of the book. What I loved most was getting more scenes with Dolly and the other Season sisters who haven’t gotten their books yet. I look forward to reading their books next.

Overall, I give this book five stars and wish I could give it even more. It was the perfect read to wrap up summer, and I hope it helps bring on the Autumn season since the story is set in the fall and even mentions Halloween toward the end.

Yours Truly, Fall created such an interesting dynamic for a second chance romance because Fall remembers EVERYTHING. She remembers their friendship, how close they once were, the heartbreak, and exactly why she’s spent the last decade keeping her distance from Brandon Culver.

Brandon, on the other hand, remembers his life just fine. He just doesn’t remember her.

After Brandon is injured on the job and needs someone with him while he recovers, Fall ends up becoming his live-in nurse. Suddenly, she’s spending her days and nights caring for the man she’s worked very hard to avoid, while Brandon is trying to figure out why this gorgeous, funny nurse seems to know everyone in his life—and why he feels such an immediate pull toward a woman he thinks he just met.

I loved watching these two settle into a routine together. Brandon is stubborn about needing help and absolutely terrible at resting, Fall is determined to remain professional, and neither of them is particularly successful at ignoring the chemistry building between them. The forced proximity gives us plenty of banter, flirting, and tension. And that shower scene? HELLO.

But my favorite part was watching them finally deal with their past. Fall has carried the hurt of what happened between them since she was a teenager, and that hurt has shaped more of her adult life than she realizes. Brandon’s memory loss creates this unusual situation where he gets to know Fall as the woman she is now without their history influencing how he sees her. At the same time, Fall has to figure out whether she can stop seeing Brandon solely as the teenage boy who broke her heart and allow herself to see the man standing in front of her.

And I really loved Brandon. He’s steady, protective, dependable, flirty, and straightforward about what he wants. He notices the little things, shows up when it matters, and never wants Fall to make herself smaller or change the quirky pieces of herself that make her who she is. There’s something incredibly sweet about a man forgetting your history and still finding his way back to you.

Fall has some growing to do too, and I appreciated that her journey wasn’t only about Brandon. She’s dealing with a career that has been unfairly derailed, figuring out what she actually wants for herself, and finally confronting something she has believed about their past for more than a decade.

For all the history and hurt between them, this was ultimately such a warm, comfy, cozy romance.

This story took me by surprise in the best way.

I am here for the seasonal stories... and this one was seasonal in more than one way.

Autumn Season, our FMC, is one of the Season sisters and they're absolutely precious... just as I expected. She is a nurse and her past is going to slam back into her in 3...2...1... During her overnight shift, she learns there is a recovering firefighter who was severely injured on the job. And who is he? The one who broke her heart years ago, Brandon, a local firefighter who was injured after attempting to save a dog from a burning house and the house exploded.

Problem? Beyond the fact that he broke her heart...he suffered a number of injuries. A concussion for one and after she talks to him she realizes he has amnesia...selective amnesia. He doesn't remember her at all.

Instead of filling in the blanks for him, she allows him to work through the process and remember things slowly. Once he realizes that he does know her family, he remembers specific moments and situations where she should be in those memories but... he's uncertain. He's himself again though, while working with a home nurse (Autumn), he's able to heal while remaining close to her. She does her best to keep everything professional... but he's flirty... he's charming... he's all the things she remembers falling for all those years ago... and he's falling for her. And she's falling for him.

The way things progressed, his memory, his healing, her healing... it was sweet. It felt normal. And I know some will say everything happened so quickly, but we have to remember, they were falling for each other years prior and they've been given a second chance to find each other again. It's emotional, it's spicy, it's oh so sweet and you just can't help falling in love with the two of them.

I enjoyed this story through audiobook format. The narrators are Vanessa Edwin and Jason Clarke with a special appearance by Ava Erickson. They're all such fabulous narrators. They brought emotion and depth to each chapter... and when I say emotion... I mean downright nearly diabolical in emotional damage. They really brought the characters to life. Highly recommend this story as an audiobook if you're an audiobook lover!

Autumn Season has spent ten years carrying around a very justified grudge against firefighter Brandon Culver. Then Brandon is injured, lands in her hospital, and wakes up remembering just about everything…except her. Because apparently the universe has jokes.

And then Autumn ends up helping care for him while he recovers.

I loved the setup because Autumn remembers every bit of their history—the hurt, the disappointment, and exactly why she decided Brandon was someone she needed to avoid—while Brandon gets to meet her again without any of that baggage. Watching him fall for her while having absolutely no idea he’d already broken her heart once was equal parts sweet and frustrating.

Brandon was definitely the standout for me. He’s patient, flirty, protective without being overbearing, and completely drawn to Autumn even when he doesn’t understand why. There’s something pretty swoony about a man forgetting your history and still choosing you all over again.

Autumn took a little longer to win me over because girlfriend can HOLD a grudge. 😂 But the more I understood what that teenage heartbreak meant to her, the more her hesitation made sense. Their teasing and banter gave the story that easy, cozy feeling I wanted, while the unresolved past kept me invested in when everything would finally come out.

I also loved being back with the Season sisters and seeing more of their family bond. That connection adds so much warmth to these books, and the scavenger-hunt thread involving their parents was one of my favorite touches.

Sweet, a little spicy, emotional without drowning in angst, and full of small-town charm. Now I’m absolutely ready for Winter’s story.

A five-alarm slow burn and YES, I nearly combusted waiting 🔥

Yours Truly, Fall, the second book in S.L. Scott’s Season Sisters series, had me completely wrapped up in Autumn and Brandon’s story and I enjoyed it even more than the first book.

Autumn is a 26-year-old nurse, the second-born Season sister, and a woman who likes her life carefully planned. After losing both parents in a tragic car accident ten years ago, she knows how quickly everything can change. Romance doesn’t fit into the future she has mapped out; especially not with Brandon Culver, the firefighter she has known practically her entire life.

Then Brandon is injured during a fire-and-rescue mission while saving a dog (yes, he’s that kind of man) and Autumn agrees to help him recover. Totally harmless, right? Absolutely not.

Brandon is steady, thoughtful, dependable, and dangerously good at making a woman reconsider every carefully constructed plan she has ever made. He remembers the little things. He shows up when it counts. He makes Autumn feel safe without ever making her feel small. Honestly, the man is one giant green flag wearing firefighter gear, and I would like to file a formal complaint about the damage this did to me.

But booooy, do these two take their sweet time acting on their attraction. The tension is so thick that Kevlar would barely survive it. Every lingering look, quiet moment, and almost-touch adds another spark to a fire that refuses to stop spreading. I spent half the book whispering, “Just do something already,” and the other half screaming, “JESUUUUS, take the wheel; because clearly no one else is driving!”

S.L. Scott writes longing beautifully. Beneath all that delicious tension is a tender, emotional story about grief, healing, trust, and the terrifying vulnerability of allowing another person to change the future you thought you wanted. Autumn and Brandon share more than physical chemistry; their connection feels deeply rooted in history, familiarity, and the quiet intimacy of truly knowing someone.

The writing is engaging, the chapter endings kept me hanging by a thread, and the slow burn nearly reduced me to ash. Sexy, heartfelt, frustrating in the most addictive way, and overflowing with love, lust, and yearning, Yours Truly, Fall was a wonderfully satisfying return to Mountain Laurel Cove.

I absolutely LOVED Brandon and Autumn!!! This book had me smiling, swooning and getting way more emotional than I was prepared for.

Autumn has her plans. She has her nursing career. She knows what she wants her life to look like and romance is absolutely NOT part of it.

Then she agrees to help Brandon Culver recover from his injury.

A hot firefighter, stuck in a cabin with her, who also happens to be steady, dependable, caring and the kind of man who actually REMEMBERS THE LITTLE THINGS???

But it wasn’t just the attraction between these two that got me. It was all those little moments. The way Brandon showed up. The way he made Autumn feel safe. The quiet strength he had and the way their relationship slowly became something neither of them could ignore.

I LOVE a man whose actions speak louder than his words and Brandon absolutely delivered. 🥹

And Autumn!! I loved her so freaking much. She’s level-headed and focused and has carefully planned out her future, so watching Brandon come along and completely shake up everything she thought she wanted was SO GOOD.

She is literally there to take care of HIM and somehow this man starts taking care of pieces of her heart without her even realising it. EXCUSE ME??? 😭😭😭

The tension between them was delicious. They’re trying to keep things professional while being stuck together and basically fighting an attraction that is getting harder and harder to ignore.

THE LOOKS. THE TOUCHES. THE CHEMISTRY.

For a firefighter recovering from an injury, Brandon was certainly starting enough fires of his own 🔥😂

But underneath all the chemistry was so much heart and that’s what made me fall completely in love with their story.

Sometimes the life you’ve meticulously planned isn’t necessarily the life that’s going to make you happiest. Sometimes someone walks into it and makes you question EVERYTHING.

Brandon and Autumn just completely stole my heart. Their story was sweet, emotional, comforting, swoony and full of those little moments that make you fall in love right along with the characters.

I didn’t want to leave Mountain Laurel Cove and I definitely wasn’t ready to say goodbye to these two.
