Paige Horne is a go-to author for me when I want to take a ride on an emotional roller coaster. She has once again run me through the ringer, and I loved every word of it! Give Me Love packed all the feels within its pages, and I felt every single one of them. From the sting of broken, young hearts that never quite healed, and the anger left in its place, Horne weaved her angsty magic in all its gut-wrenching glory. Then she tempered that emotion with layers of sweet romance and sizzling chemistry that added depth and richness, making this a memorable love story that I simply did not want to put down. Trust me when I say, you do not want to pass this one up. This poignant and engrossing story has easily become one of my top reads of the year. ♥

Epilogue and your heart just wrenches! Such is the power of this angsty, poignant story about two people so broken that they are attracted to each others misery like magnets. Powerful emotions bind the story in tight bundle, you have to patiently unravel each thread to discover beautifully etched characters and their abandoned lives. As is with children from tumultuous homes, Bryson Grant and Kat are untethered wandering souls who haven't had any closure in their lives yet

description

They smother each other in unyielding love. Their love is like a raging fire destroying everything near and around them. Even at my young age , I can see the love they desire from each other will also annihilate them both in the end. How can something so beautiful be so deadly?
So many questions yet none of the answers nurture them into skeptic souls, very reluctant to trust anybody. They are hesitant and downright untrusting of any show of emotions, especially of the softer kinds

description

Why does he care so much about a person who continues to hurt him? It confuses me.
She runs, he searches.
She fights, he’s calm.

Very slowly they learn to accept each other, open up their hearts and get the a peak inside. It's a slow process but they feel comfortable leaning on each other and then hopefully crave for them too

description

There's two fantastic side characters that I'm begging her to give their own books- Jace and Jake.
One is a lovable rascal and the other smirking, sexy mechanic
Paige is very skilled at ruining your heart with agonising stories which just shake you up hard till your sentiments are all scattered. She doesn't disappoint here too. There's a surprise towards the end that'll have you throwing your kindle to the wall with WTF peacock?!!!!!!!!!!

Kathrine just broke up with her idiot of a boyfriend. She never really loved him anyway - and she especially didn't love his rich family.

Now she feels just sad for herself and hangs around at home and reads all day. That's why her roommate 'forces' her to go clubbing one night.

Enter Bryson Grant.

description

He's the owner of the Club and he's immediately attracted to Kat ... she feels the same - he's illegally hot...

But both don't want a relationship - Kat, because she just came out of a long one, and Bryce, because he just doesn't do relationships.

Something else they both have in common is their past...

In the prologue we hear what happened to Bryson and his family when he was little, and from Kat's comments, we kind of get what her life has been like....

But of course the past and the no-relationship-rule, doesn't stop them both from falling for each other....

But there are still too many problems in their way - like Kat's best friend Jake, who is acting weird.

And someone from Bryson's past might come back to stir up trouble...

And both Kat & Bryce don't really want to share all of their troubled past with each other.....

What will happen to Kat & Bryce?
Will there be a HEA?
Will everybody die at the end? o.O
Or will there be a horrible Cliffhanger?

description

I'm not telling you that of course ...☺

description

I don't want to spoil anything ☺ Ok - not a real Cliffhanger... ;)
_______________________________

I really enjoyed the story...

I just can't dislike a book that makes me cry in the prologue already ☺

description

I really liked Bryson and Kat - they're so cute together.

There were looootttsss of sexy scenes ...

description

... and funny scenes and very moving scenes... frustrating and adorable scenes....

Plus the scenes with Kat's best friends Jake & Claire and Bryce's brother Jace .... I really liked those.

We also get some flashbacks to Kat's past - really interesting to see what happened back then...

The tiny little things I didn't like?

Well, it's not really a like or don't like thing...it's more that you just notice that Paige probably read Fifty Shades of Grey a while back, and then decided to try her own hand at writing ... you notice that it's her first try too ... the story doesn't really have a flow to it ... which doesn't make the book bad, but there's definitely room for more ☺

The story itself wasn't all that innovative too... nothing that I haven't read a dozen times before... but also nothing that I wouldn't read another dozen times again - because I just love those kinds of stories ☺

It was a tiny little bit too 'insta' for my tastes - they meet and bam! - he says: come with me - and she goes with him ☺

And what doesn't fit for me... is the cover? Just looking at the cover, you expect something dark and suspensy...and it has a few of those elements - but it's basically just a cute romance with two people who have some problems left over from their past...but it's not a story that's as dark as the cover suggests ☺

But..I really like the cover - maybe Paige can use it again one day - for a story that would fit it ☺

but still....

Give me love was a really sexy and moving romance ... about two people with a bad past, trying to find their Happy Ever After....can't wait to see what happens in book #2 ☺

PS - The cover has been changed - and while I still don't love it - it fits better than the old one ☺

Where the hell is the 6* button!
I loved this couldn't put it down, characters where strong the storyline great. I had to laugh when Kat went back to work and had a hole in the shoe as this is me. I really really enjoyed this book and think it's one of the best I've read in a while, starting on book two immediately and can't wait for book 3, is there one? There are a few typos but that's easily forgotten while you're swept up in the world of Bryce and Kat.

The old versions of the first two books in the Give Me series have been completely overhauled. The only thing that remains the same is the characters and where the story is based. The New story of Give Me Love will release September 17th!

It will be a four book series!

One of my favorites of 2019!

I loved this book so much! I was hooked from beginning to end! My heart kept clenching and my stomach was hurting. My heart broke for both Bryce and Kat, but I was definitely rooting for them to be together. Their story is raw, realistic, and full of obstacles, but I’m excited for whatever’s next. That cliffy killed me 😭 I need more! Can’t wait for book two!

Katherine and Bryce are instantly attracted to each other, but they are both broken by their pasts which has defined them to become the characters they are now, with trust issues and secrets so far buried inside them, that they cannot open up to each other let alone anybody else. This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster journey throughout, and has angst, heartbreak, humor, and love. The epilogue is simply heart-wrenching, and I cannot wait to read the next book in this phenomenal series. Hats off to this gifted author for a truly amazing masterpiece.

Heartbreakingly sweet and sexy 4.5 solid stars

*The author was kind enough to share the ARC for an honest review*

WOW!!! From the first chapter where I bawled my eyes till the last two words that were uttered at the very end, Paige has managed to make me cry, laugh, smile, giggle, weep and hot under the collars. After my last read I wasn't sure I was up for reading another heart-breaker yet I was hooked from the Prologue.

This was a story about two souls who have had a heartbreaking beginning. They meet and sparks fly. And the struggle begins anew. Neither trusts, and is it any wonder considering their past. In the first chapter, my heart broke into pieces and then slowly but surely it mended as the story progressed. Kathrine and Bryson both struggle with their feelings, especially Bryce, he's had it the worst. But I love how he was with Kat, I loved how even being unsure and completely experiencing something new, he didn't run away. And Kathrine, she made me want to go and hug her tight. I was roooting for her, I wanted her to have an HEA.

And then there was Jake and Claire and what happened to Jake had me clutching my pillow and chanting incoherently. I could NOT take that. NO FREAKING WAY. And then there was Lou, Monnie, Lee, Emily and Jace. I love everyone of them. But I hated Veronica, there was people who are petty and stupid and plain old UGLY. She portrays the ugly pretty perfectly. I wanted to throat punch her every time.

Life isn't simple, life is a wild ride and it's short and it can be sweet only if we fight for what we want and have the strength and courage to follow our heart. Will Bryce be able to believe and have faith or will his past come and create a huge crevice between him and Claire?

To find out, you have to read this beautiful story about two young kids who had it hard from the start and they survived it to only stumble onto each other but will theirs be a happy ending. 1-click it to find out.

It was an immense pleasure reading this story. I feel in love with Paige's brand of magic. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series and two special characters get their own story in the future.

Give Me Love starts off with such an ominous start and It captured my interest right from the start.

I had a difficult time getting immersed into the story after a few chapters in. Katherine ...I'm still holding my true thoughts on her as I feel like I haven't truly gotten to know this character per se whereas Bryce is a whole different story. I got him...I understood his conflicts and fear.

I think Paige P. Horne did a wonderful job in trying to make us understand Bryce and his constant struggle to understand and fear love because of what he went witnessed in his life. I understood why he would question how something so beautiful, as love, could be so deadly.

Having said all that, I felt myself wanting more from this story...I wanted something more from Give Me Love.
I think the cliffhanger is just good enough to want to know what's in stored for the future but overall, Give Me Love was a solid 3.5 stars for me. I enjoyed it but I think it can be a little forgettable.

A past that connects them and secrets that could destroy them.

Meeting by chance, Kat and Bryce have no idea how much they have in common and love is not a choice.

Can it change how they see things, or will it destroy the life they've worked so hard to maintain?

I want to start by saying-before opening this book- I couldn't get into anything I tried to read. It had been almost a week since I finished my last book and that had taken me almost 2 weeks to read. Well, thanks to Give Me Love, my reading drought is over now. I was addicted to all of the words from the prologue.

Give Me Love was full of angst, suspense, and surprises. There was a lot of push and pull between Bryce and Kat. They knew what they wanted, but were afraid to go for it. With past like theirs, I would be afraid, too.

I loved both the H h throughout the entire book. At a certain point they both kind of ticked me off. I wanted to reach into my kindle; grab them, shake them, and tell them what to do. We all know that is not how this works though. It's not like the "choose your own adventure" books from grade school where the reader decides the outcome. Haha! Nope- I just had to continue reading and hope things turned out the way I had them planned in my head.

I seriously could not finish this book fast enough, which may have been a mistake on my part. Now I have to impatiently wait for the next book so I can see what will happen next. I am looking forward to the continuation of Bryce and Kat's story.

Authors are huanted by the admonition 'hook the reader, and fast!' Ms. Horne nailed it.
From go I fell in love with Bryce. My heart went out to him and from then on I was on his side.
We meet Kathrine and I was able to relate. Haven't we all been in a relationship where you are just not valued? Mending her hurts with a past of her own to set the tone we then begin the sexy, uplifting, heartwarming romance that ensues.
Though this is a typical romance, Paige Horne has the skill to keep the reader in every page. The peripheral characters are just as alive and full as the the two protagonists and I found myself ahhing over them as well.
Give me Love is a book about helping, taking chances, not letting your past own your future and recognizing that you have the pier over your life that perhaps had been in question growing up.
I love the tension, the charisma and chemistry. There is wit and smoking hot um... stuff!
Super job by this new author, I always wonder if the characters in romances are based on true life. If so, wow, Bryce is quite the specimen!

Trust does not come easy to either Bryson or Katherine. They both have survived tragedy and abandonment early in life. They meet when Katherine and her friends visit Bryce's Night Club. Bryce is immediately taken with Katherine and the attraction is mutual. Bryce doesn't date, but it seems he feels the need to do just that with Katherine.

Two damaged souls find ups and downs during the growth of their relationship as they strive to hang onto each other. Misunderstandings happen and hurt drives them apart more than once. In the end they do not give up on each other as they work through fear of being abandoned by the other. Learning to trust each other as well as their own feelings makes this book a page turner. There is a good opening at the end for the next book tho it is not a big cliffhanger. I loved it and am looking forward to the next book.

I got this free in the kindle store and didn’t have high hopes. It sounded too cliche.

Damn you Paige P Horne, what have you done to me, I couldn’t put it down and when I finally got to the end I was desperately clicking back into the Kindle store for the second instalment

Bryce is a moody, unpredictable, sexy af nightclub owner. With secretes that are eating him up and a mantra that only one person is going to break

Katherine is a fighter, she’s pulled herself from the brink more often than not and has come out fighting every time

Bryce and Katherine need each other more than either of them realise

Horne does an amazing job at setting the scenery, building the backstories and making you fall hard for these flawed but loveable characters.

There’s definitely some cheesiness and some predicable parts but I was so enthralled with the story and the angst that they made no impact on my enjoyment

I can’t wait to get into the second one

Kat and Bryce are a couple of broken people who struggles in life and don't believe in Love.

Both hurt by their childhood, they grow up guarded, hurt and don't trust easily, but there was an attraction they couldn't deny. Their relationship start off as friends but later on moved on to something more. Together they go on a path of healing and trying to love for the first time.

Their story is not easy nor pretty even though they love each other very much. This book ends on a cliffhanger and I can not wait to read the next one, hoping it brings a HEA for this beautiful couple.

This is only my second book by this author and OMG was it so good.
Bryce and Kat have been through some truly horrific childhoods, they have seen and experienced things that most would not survive, but yet they have. From the moment the see each other across a crowded bar they feel this connection, kindred spirits? Maybe.

Bryce has spent his life protecting his brother, since the age of 8 he became an adult overnight. Through some horrific events, both Bryce and his younger brother Jace lost both their parents and are adopted by Lee Grant. They are given a life most would dream of. Bryce has a tough time through his teens. He has one rule he never breaks, never fall in love, never let anyone make you vulnerable.

Kat, this girl slayed me. Abandoned by her mother and left with an abusive stepfather her only goal through her teen years was to turn 18 flee. And she did. She found a job, friends and put herself through college. She has built these walls around herself and doesn't share her past with anyone, she has this fear that people will always leave.

Bryce and Kat slowly develop a friendship and you can just feel the chemistry between them fly off the page. They both see the damaged parts of themselves in each other. They decide to take a chance and I truly enjoyed the journey as they navigated their developing relationship. These character have such depth and I felt so emotionally connected to them.

I loved the secondary characters. Kat's best friends Claire and Austin were amazing and I love Bryce's brother Jace.

Yes there is a cliffhanger, like I literally dropped my jaw while reading. Thankfully there isn't a long wait for the next book. I definitely recommend this book.

I received a ARC from this author for an honest review.

Molded by a toxic upbringing, these two individuals avoid falling in love, for to them love is a weakness that will destroy you. Their lives started with one hardship at a time. Into adulthood the hardships continue to break them down. Will their love withstand the hardships life throws at them?

Kathrine Harrison and Bryce Grant made it their mission to not let the past define them. Each one has a past they would rather forget, but its imperative to share the past in order to move forward.

They knew what they were getting themselves into. It was clear from the beginning that they were closed off to the idea of love.

Overall:
Give me love is a slow building love story by two closed off characters, who have built tall solid walls guarding their hearts.

Kathrine is twenty-seven with a business degree and a ton of credit card debt. I’m struggling with her character given that her introduction to the story was at twenty-seven. Her backstory is held back to create a character whose guarded. It’s not her backstory that’s dissatisfying, it’s her behavior. She just seems immature for her age. I’m conflicted by Kathrine’s character. So far I haven’t seen anything admirable about her other than her wanting to buy the coffee/bookstore business. Everything else about her seems unstable. I hate to be judgmental, but I just can’t get past her drinking. Drinking and partying is a hard limit for me.

Bryce is thirty-three and seems more focused and secure. He seems stable with a solid business. He at times behaves immaturely with his jealousy and moody personality.

There lifestyle choices were disappointing. I’m not sure if I would refer to this as a drug and alcohol related story because there are many other factors as well. Overall is was too much and not enough. Too much partying, drugs, and alcohol abuse. Not enough emotional turmoil. The characters behavior was too matter of fact. They were unconcerned with the careless choices being made making excuses that it’s all they’ve known. They can’t seem to break the cycle. I needed something more from them. I thought Bryce originally had a good head on his shoulders with his club and the ranch, but then the women, drinking, and anger proved differently. A backstory is really essential to explain how Bryce went from a poor thirteen year boy who rebelled to a thirty-three year old man with money to burn. Those are significant years that help define an individuals actions. I need this backstory to gain a better understanding for where Bryce’s head is at. Kathrine has a huge gap of growth that needs filling in as well. I can only evaluate her based on her current lifestyle which is unstable. On one hand she’s ready to be a business owner which shows responsibility. On the other she runs to the nearest club to drown herself in alcohol rather than face her problems head on. As a business owner she won’t be able to solve her problems with alcohol.
These characters have a lot of growing up to do which is ironic considering they had to grow up fast since they had to raise themselves when the role of mother and father wasn’t found.
I needed something more from these characters. They seemed to follow the same patterns. The boys were given a new outlook on life and neither guy turned their life around. It was disappointing.
I didn’t like how another lifestyle from Bryce was brewing in the background with unanswered questions regarding certain characters. For over ten years it’s unclear what happened to these boys while in the care of Lee and Emily.
I know there are three more books to this series and the answers will come. I’m concerned that with those answers more hardships and bad choices will also be made and I’m not sure I’m ready to delve into that type of lifestyle. I need a little more give and take. At this point, the hardships outweigh the prosperities.

Arc received in exchange for an honest review.

Give me love is book 1 in the perfect love series. Taken from both sides of 2 deeply troubled characters and their pasts, that years ahead still pull at chains to their future.

Kathrine Harris is a young woman in her 20's, and getting over the break up with her ex fiancée. No real love lost but as she revels in her break up stupor while being pushed by best friend Claire to go out.... get a life... get a man. Knowing she can't fight her bestie she heads out to a new hit club, VIP entry is a little to enticing.

She never expected to meet a drop dead gorgeous man... and never imagined that man would be the owner of said nightclub. Their instant chemistry is clear on the pages and his dominant presence pushes Kat to do things she never imagined.

Bryson Grant has had his own shitty past, in the prologue to the story we are given a snapshot of his horrific and sad young life. He lost both if his parents as a young boy and was fostered by a lovely ranch owner. Lee Grant gave Bryce and Jayce the life they needed. Love and family have grown these 2 men into well adjusted smart people, but for Bryce his past will always haunt him. No love in his world, he meets women in his club, fucks them, then leaves them.

That is until Kat Harris enters his world. His feelings towards her is nothing he has ever felt before. For Kat, she quickly falls for Bryce, but when it is clear he doesn't return the love she has, the cracks begin to form in their less than perfect relationship. Add in her boss wanting to date her, her best friend Jake declaring he loves her and Bryson 's ex claiming she still has him and that Kat never will, it begins an implosion.... Like a building Falling down. The biggest question is whether Bryce and Kat can find themselves again or will their pasts tear the 2 apart permanently?

I did enjoy this 1st installment, but was very close to giving 3 stars... Why oh why do authors use the term "girl" to a female character, I find it insulting especially when it is used in a loving way. Not for me I'm afraid. My only other complaint was sometimes not knowing who was talking, this is more about the writing style not the actual story itself. So all over I'll say this was a good read with minor issues I hope are cleared up in book 2.

"The nights are the hardest when everything is quiet and all I can do is think."

I received an unedited arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book will grab hold of you, right from the first few pages. I remember thinking... if I'm almost in tears at 2% in, what does the rest of the book have in store? Both Bryce and Kathrine's past is full of dark, heartbreaking secrets. Despite their rough beginnings, they find each other and learn to trust.

Bryce is a dark, brooding, alpha male who takes what he wants. At first sight, Kathrine stirs something in him that he can't ignore. She gets past that shell he built around his heart. He is sexy is a way that requires no effort, on his part. He reminded me of a cross between Gideon Cross and Christian Grey, but more down to Earth. He has a thing with elevators, he just shows up at Kathrine's a few times (one time she wakes up and he's there) and is secretive about his past. But, he's not over the top and stalker-ish. He gets your heartbeat racing with anticipation one moment and will have you swooning the next.

Kathrine came out of a long relationship that had no spark, but that's just what she finds in Bryce. He brings out her passion in a way that no one else has. The sex scenes are hot!! There's one elevator scene that... wow... just wow.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and this first novel from Paige Horne

This book was offered for a honest review.

I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to have read this book. The characters are both intense, with backgrounds that will pull your heartstrings. In this first book we are introduced to parts of each characters that attract the other. The chemistry in their relationship is not a problem but each person has secrets that make for a challenge to trust.

Bryce tugs at emotions that dwell deep within all hearts. He has strength and a dominant side along with a hidden fear that shows itself on occasion. Yet, Katherine calls to him. She is like a siren he can't resist. When Katherine meets Bryce, it's instant attraction yes, but she is not looking for a relationship. So, she settles for some fun and keeping it distanced. So much for plans. The more time they spend together the harder it is to separate her feelings.

Parts of each persons pasts are revealed which makes for some problems. Yet, the pull to one another is overwhelming for both. At the end of this book we are left with a question that is sure to bring you back for the second book.

The author delivered a wonderfully written story that had every emotion under the sun out in my psyche. I feel a connection to both characters and can only hope for a successful outcome. There are obstacles to overcome for sure, now we just need to see if they are strong enough for that to happen.

Let me start by saying that the prologue had me in tears!! Yes, I promise you!! Without a word of a lie. So it was with a bit of trepidation that I delved into the story….

Can two people still haunted by the demons of their childhoods learn to trust, love and heal each other? That was the question reverberating in my head when Kat meets Bryson. As she herself says:

“Growing up in a home without love can make you think it doesn’t exist.”

I enjoyed the whole will they/won’t they make it in the story. Although, at times I would’ve happily shaken Kat; and Bryce, unsurprisingly, had a hard time expressing his feelings. I think I shouted ‘Hallelujah!’ at my kindle when he admits:

“You have lit a fire in me, baby. I want to get too close to you.”

There were lots of interesting secondary characters with Jake, Claire, Jace, Monnie, Lou, Lee and Emily really adding to the story. A few things happened where I would’ve loved more detail, but that’s just me wanting to get into the nitty gritty ;)

All in all, it was an enjoyable story. The only reason it wasn’t a 5 star read for me was I struggled with the writing at times and I didn’t ‘connect’ with Kat as much as I would’ve liked.

I’m still intrigued to see what happens in Book 2.

"You’ll find the right one, and none of these other women will matter.
Yeah, well, I found her. Now what do I do?"

This was simply perfect. With so much suspense and in the same time so much lust and love,.I was not able to stop. No two people can be more alike. Both of them are closed-off, and neither likes to talk about why. You have here comfort, lust, belonging, owning.

Meeting by chance, Kat and Bryce have no idea how much they have in common and love is not a choice.

For Bryce Kathrine is excitement he never experienced, joy he never found in life. He is drawn to her like never before.

Kathrine is confident, smart, beautiful woman but with scars so deep from her past. It isn’t easy for her to open up to people. She grew up in chaos, getting abused by her stepdad who reminded her daily that she wasn’t worth loving. But then this alfa Bryce appears…They have been flirting with the idea of getting close, dreamed about it… until the day they see stars! With the twist that has to happen it ends with cliffhanger. Give Me Perfect Love will give us answers.

„If heartbreak had a face, it would be K’s. If guilt killed, I’d be dead on the floor.“

Happy Reading!

No matter how long you have your heart guarded when true love walks in your life those guards crumbled to have your heart rejoiced with true and unconditional love.

Bryce Grant had demons lurking in the shadows that wouldn't let him be happy. Being the owner of the hottest club in Atlanta Ga. He had every women he wanted and he had. Life had a new plan for him her name was Kathrine Harris.

Kathrine Harris had a horrible childhood, a mother that left her when she was just a teenage, an alcoholic and abusive father, her days were lived in pure hell. Ten years later life had a new plan for her and his name was Bryce Grant.

Can Bryce and Kathrine be able to love each other without their demons destroying what they have? Can their insecurities take a toll of their love and leave them alone and heart broken forever?

Give Me Love is one of the most passionate, intense love story. Bryce and Kathrine are one of my favorite couple. I love this story and I recommend this book.

Give Me Love by Paige P. Horne is book one in her Give Me Serial. Give Me Love is not a standalone.
Thr serial continues in Give Me Perfect, Give Me Forever and Give Me Redemption.
Give Me Love is Katherine and Bryce's story. Both have some issues and hang ups. THey had a not nice childhood. While Katherine grew up in chaos, Bryce had to deal with addicted parents. He became a complicated man who never wanted a relationship. 'til he meets Katherine, the barista. Katherine knows what she wants and how to get, or so. She has no chance against Bryce and his charming ways.
Give Me Love is a raw and gritty story and not for the faint of heart. The story deals with sensitive subjects. A story about longing, never giving up and second chances. I loved the storyline and the characters and can't wait to read the next installment. 4 stars.

I loved everything about Bryce and Kat's story! it was definitely an emotional roller coaster but im glad they were on it together! They had high walls around their hearts that needed to be broken down. When those walls finally crumbled, OMG! Bryce was cocky and bossy at times but oh man did he have a sweet, loving, shy and playful side! Kat was too cute. she was a sweet loving girl but boy did she hold her own! She overcame so much in her life.. These two needed each other! The other characters were just as great. I could feel the love radiating off Lou, Monnie, Lee, Claire, Jake, Jace. And dont get me started on Veronica! Ugh that girl is the devil. I hope she gets whats coming to her! ;) I need MORE so i will be patiently waiting for the second book!! *kisses* to the author
