K.E. Ganshert writes romantic speculative fiction filled with high stakes, big emotions, and exciting twists. Her stories feature heroines with gifts they don’t fully understand, emotionally guarded heroes who fall hard for the girl, and dangerous worlds that aren't quite what they seem. Perfect for readers who want to escape into supernatural, dystopian, or fantasy tales—where the romance runs deep, but never explicit.

After being completely intrigued by book one of the series, this book was HIGH I might want to read list. It did not disappoint! I was immediately pulled back into the world of Foggy Hollow and the story, and it was such a fantastic read. I don’t normally read a ton in this genre, but this series is one that I cannot put down. From the characters to the mystery elements, I am here for the vibes this story gives. For someone who grew up in the 1980’s watching Unsolved Mysteries this series has that kind of vibe(IYKYK!) I hope book 3 releases soon! I NEED to know what’s going to happen next!
I received a copy of this book from the author and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts on my own.
This book picks up all the danger and adrenaline where the last book finished off. It starts with a bang and then just keeps picking up speed as the story unfolds. And when you think there may be a minute to catch your breath, another curve comes your way. This story picks up and continues the story. Supernatural powers are at play in a town surrounded by mystery. Selah, Twig, and Jude figure they have found the answers they sought. but a new danger is waiting to make itself known. And no one is ready for it. Twists and turns abound so the reader is as lost as the characters. You can feel the adrenaline hitting in wave after wave, holding on to see where the characters will be thrown to next. The deep and abiding friendships lend a wonderful strength to the story that I love. It pulled me into the story and kept me glued there. And there is just enough romance to add another dimension to the story that leaves the reader smiling. One of the best cliffhangers I read in a while! Even knowing it was coming, I was shaking my head. And wishing for a chance to read the next part of the story right now! I had to wait a while for the adrenaline high to fade before I could try to wrap my head around where on earth K.E. Ganshert is going to head next. This fabulous, mysterious thriller is K.E. Ganshert's best yet. Don't miss out on all the fun! But be ready for the excitement and rush that also comes. You are going to be up late! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This book brought all the Stranger Things vibes, and I was there for it.
-The creepy creatures -The alternate dimension -The intrepid friend group -All the homemade weapons (but, sadly, no nail bat. No Steve Harrington, either, much to my dismay) -A Vecna-esque big bad (whose identity I figured out only slightly before the big reveal)
The romance is just as angsty as in the first book, and there's a touch of a love triangle that I kinda sorta was there for, even though I'm 100% on board with Selah and Jude as a couple.
Plus, ten of ten stars for that cliffhanger. I saw it coming, and it still knocked me flat on my butt. Methinks there's still plenty of drama left in the town of Foggy Hollow.
And might we see a redemption story before the series is complete? Honestly? I really hope so.
All in all, this was a solid second installment in the series. If you enjoyed the first, or are a fan of Stranger Things, I think you'll really enjoy this book.
Content notes: No sex or profanity, but there are plenty of creepy supernatural elements that might be an issue for sensitive readers.
*Thank you to K.E. Ganshert for the Advanced Reader Copy (ARC). All opinions are my own.*
i read the first book in the series before the sequel came out, so i spent a few weeks making theories of what will happen in the sequel. but now that i've read the sequel, i just have to say, this book surpassed my theories and my expectations.
MISS. GANSHERT. DOES. NOT. DISAPPOINT. 👏.
usually the next installment in a series are a let down, but the tales from the hollow? NO. this book keeps up with wicked is the hollow. i DEVOURED this entire thing in one sitting alone. the mystery was SO well written to the point that i had to make actual notes for it on my notepad (like i did with the first book too haha).
i am so so SOOOO excited for the next installment to see what happens next to my sweet selah and her friends <3
p.s. jude's presence in this novel was lesser than the previous one. i missed jude a LOTTT 💔 oh and also, i am kind of starting to love rafe too now 😋
This sequel was just as good as the first book. Maybe even better, which is saying something since it was one of my favorite reads last year. It starts right after the events of Wicked is the Hollow and follows the same characters.
This book was spooky, mysterious, and just downright awesome. There were so many twists and turns and surprises. My jaw was on the floor quite a few times. And I got goosebumps several times.
It was really interesting learning more of the town lore and about the rifts. And it was great spending more time with these characters. Although they did stress me out, lol!
I had a blast reading this book and am so eager for the next one! It ends on a cliffhanger, so book three can’t come out soon enough! This series is perfect for fans of Stranger Things. I can't recommend it highly enough!
I received a copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.
Hungry is the Hollow will make you hungry for more - more supernatural mysteries, that is! Hungry is the exciting sequel to Wicked is the Hollow, and it's such a fun read!
Hungry picks up right where Wicked leaves off, and there are so many questions to answer that you'll be on the edge of your seat for the whole book. I love the twists and turns!
The continued romance is steamy, but the close friendships rank just as high with me. I love seeing people willing to go to bat for their friends, and Twig continues to be great.
Hungry isn't as deep as Wicked, but it is just as fun, and it continues a great plot. I can't wait to see where the third book goes!
I received a complimentary review of this book. All opinions are my own.
What a fun and spooky sequel this was! Book 2 in the Tales from the Hollow series picked up right where Wicked left off. So much happened in the first book, I didn’t know how she would manage to do it again but she always does! I love everything that KE Ganshert writes—even when they are not my normal genres. This book definitely took on a Stranger Things vibe and I was here for it! I loved the spookiness and the friendships and the romance. And the cliffhanger at the end has me looking forward to book 3 to see where the story will go next! Thank you to the author, KE Ganshert, for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
Once again, the newest story from K.E. Ganshert was a hit! This is the 2nd book in the series and even if it's been a while since you read the first one, the details of what happened in that first book are woven into the story so well that it doesn't feel like a recap (which isn't easy to do). It had just the right amount of edge-of-your-seat moments, adventure, romance, and the supernatural. The story was just as riveting as the first and I am definitely looking forward to future tales from Foggy Hollow!
Thank you, K.E. Ganshert for an advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Hungry is the Hollow picks up right from where the first book (Wicked is the Hollow) left off. This one also has Selah (the main character) narrating, first person point of view, which I love! This book keeps you guessing all the way through. Just when you think you have it figured out, it goes a different way! It has supernatural elements in it, but not to the point of being creepy and scary. This book (like all of Katie Ganshert's book) is extremely clean, so this one would be good for a young adult and any adult to read. I highly recommend this book to everyone!
I was so tense all the way through this. I didn’t remember a ton of details from the first book, but the author did a good enough job with context that it didn’t really matter. I was a little confused about some of the end confrontation details, as well as all the stuff with the hounds and how exactly they worked/came about, but that was probably because I was reading too quickly. I’m excited to see how this series ends, especially given the unexpected villain in this and the surprise at the end.
And I thought the first book (Wicked is the Hollow) was twisty and mind-blowing. This second book in the series is even more fast-paced, with more secrets and plot twists and surprises. Again told from Selah's first person present tense voice, the story picks up right after the first book ended. The book is an intense combination of supernatural in a battle of good vs. evil with a generous dose of intrigue and mystery and a side note of romance. Though teenagers, Selah and Jude's love for each other felt deep and real; I loved how they protected each other and wanted what was best for the other. I liked watching the secondary characters, like Twig, Naomi, Harper, and Rafe, develop and have a bigger role in unraveling the mystery and fighting evil. The lore of the Hollow Walker and the Overlay was spooky and how this lore materialized to encompass both Selah and Jude was quite incredible. Their family histories and the unresolved questions of Foggy Hollow collided and exploded here, leaving the reader some answers but not all. The ending is a cliff hanger for sure. I can't wait to see what happens in book 3. Once you pick up this book, you won't be able to put it down. So get ready for a wild ride!
I received a complimentary copy courtesy of the author and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.
have you ever read a book so good you already know you’ll be in a slump once you finish it? yeah that was me with this book. i read book 1 two days before this book came out and it was the longest 2 days of my life. i loved every twist and turn this book had to offer. i am extremely bummed i finished the book so fast and need to find another book as good as this one to get me out of the mini slump im in
okay yay book 2 of foggy hollows. more complicated paranormal concepts - lainey coming back after exploding but she’s trapped in the overlay, constellation markings that open portals into it, a clock arrangement.. def a lot of crazy things going on lolll.. also they’re high schoolers so like some of the writing/description is cringey (but like that’s how a high schooler would sound). a third book seems unnecessary but welp another person who we thought was dead came back 🤷🏻♀️
This book is such an insane rip of Stranger Things. A second dimension with a man-turned demon (Vorat… Vecna…)who kidnaps kids, positions in the pattern of a clock with a time and date from a previous event to then suck their souls out so he can turn the world to what he envisions. AND can only be killed by fire????? There were so many random side plots I wish the author had gone with instead. I finished it just to compare the ending to ST. And it was the exact same.

Crazy second installment in this paranormal series by Ganshert. I found myself holding my breath wondering what was going to happen next. While this is not my normal genre, Ganshert is a must read for me, and I greatly appreciate clean YA stories with so much junk out there. I can’t wait for book 3 in this series about the Hollow!
Jumping right back in on the heels of Hungry is the Hollow, readers are immersed in the supernatural world of Foggy Hollow. The twists and turns are constant, keeping you turning pages to figure out what is going on. I love how it all wove together….very satisfying. I also love a good love triangle, and there was such a dreamy one starting back up in the book. Can’t wait for book three…..
Wow! That’s how you write a book two! A new mystery to solve, so many twists and turns, and shocking reveals that will leave your jaw on the floor. This was one crazy ride and I loved every second of it! Can’t wait for the next one!
I really enjoyed book one, so much so that I was pleased to hear that book 2 had just been released. The 2nd book was so good I couldnt put it down and I read it in 6 days. I have never done that before. Highly recommended.
Stranger Things fans needing a fix, look no further. In this second installment of the Talkes from the Hollow series, Selah and Jude discover that breaking the curse was only the beginning. Magic always demands a price be paid.
