Great for the mentorless... Although "it was amazing" seems a strange way to rate it, I do highly recommend it for anyone contemplating a PhD in clinical psych.

having gotten this book with NO CLUE what educational path i wanted to take to become a therapist, i was best served by meeting with psychologists, social workers and psychotherapists to figure out the best path for me. there are numerous other programs outside of graduate school, such as psychoanalytic institutes, which are worth exploring but not mentioned in this book. seriously, save your money and network through open houses/psychologists you know for the best real-world advice.

Decent enough. It would probably be very beneficial for someone coming straight from undergrad, but if you have taken time off or taking an interdisciplinary approach, it's a toss up...particularly for those who already have a doctoral degree. I will say this does focus heavily on phD programs which was useful for my purposes.
