Hawthorne, Massachusetts has always been a nice place, a safe place - a boring place. At least to waitress Tara Walker, who dreams of more excitement than slinging plates of seafood for Cape Cod tourists. But as Tara learns when she is attacked and forced to fight for her life, fate sometimes has a funny way of giving you exactly what you wish for. Faced with strange new p ...more

“There are more things in heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”

I don’t know how I stumbled across Fury’s Kiss but I am really ecstatic that I did. 4.5 Kick Ass Heroine Stars.

This is the debut novel by Ms. White and it has everything that it should have. Humour, suspense, love, a grouchy Hero and a strong headed heroine. The secondary characters only added to the story and the detail that was created.

I really wanted to like this book because the synopsis sounded amazing! However,I just couldn't connect with the main character and I mostly found her actions to be a bit stupid.I liked Alecta a lot more than Tara. I also liked Tara's friends, they are really great characters,Nicola R. White deserves a big applause because she definitely did her research and the story she wrote is very, very interesting, nothing like I've read before!

Wowzers! Nicola R White has completely impressed me for the second time! This book really couldn't be more different than Man's Ruin yet it has an author in common and she is an incredible talent!

I absolutely loved this brilliantly, well written, paranormal romance that started out crazy wild and maintained that level of surprise and intensity throughout. The characters are outstanding and all so well developed and each is interestin

Meeting the furies was so much fun. I loved meeting Tara. Jackson was a bit different. I was not sure of him at first. I found some great characters and an intense relationship that was worth getting to see more of. I would love to have more of the furies. I found this introduction to be exciting and alluring.

Narration of the audio was acceptable but the audio quality was lacking. There wa
This book was weird and I hated the narrator.

The accents in Fury's Kiss were laughable. I couldn't take the characters or the narrator seriously - especially when she did her guy voice. Speaking of the characters, I didn't like Jackson. I didn't want to ship him and Tara even if the smut was a bit good. No, because I hated him. Ugh the way he talked to and treated Tara made me rolls my eyes and plan his death at the same time. Besides her, the way he took "charge" of his sister and her kid was f

Furies? I had of course heard of them-vaguely. So when I saw this on Net Galley for review, I decided to take a chance. There were minor things that bothered me here and there, but for the most part I had a good time reading this.

Tara is a waitress in a restaurant. She’s saving money to buy her own restaurant, but in the meantime, she lives with two roommates-also her two best friends. One night she goes by herself to a local bar in town that is deserted except for the bartender, Nora. This is w

I am so confused about my feelings on this book right now!

Rating:- 2.5 stars.

Let’s start off with the plot.

”There are darker creatures than even you, infernal Goddess, daughter of blood and night,”

Tara is the type of girl who is more passive than aggressive,

She’s flirty and likes to have a good time.

She enjoys the typical things of a 22 year old.

Until one night she is stood up

I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for the next one!! I fell in love with the characters and the style of writing right away. It's full of badass women who are strong and there for each other which is so rare in books these days. It was the perfect mix of humor and action, as well as romance. I am so interested in the world and mythology that is mixed into it. I highly recommend this book! This was my first time reading a book by this author and I am so glad that I did!! I don’t what to say about this book. This book follows Tara's journey, and what happens when after  she is attacked, with her life in danger something ancient awakes inside her.
Tara lives with her 2 best friends Alex and Rachel, who try to help Tara, come to terms with her new path in life. Tara is lucky to have the support of Nora, Ruby her young daughter and Ruby’s Uncle Jackson who gets involved against his better Judgement.

I was expecting to like this book. I did only decide to read this book to complete a reading challenge. The synopsis was good. So I went into this thinking it was going to be super good. But it was just meh...

Tara is a young girl who rooms with her two best friends. She ends up in a bad situation outside of a bar where a guy tries to rape her. She winds up killing him. Obviously she's super freaked out and goes home and tells her roomies about it. They then go into detective mode to find out who

Ugh there was so much about this that bothered me so fucking much.

First Jackson. This douche canoe made me so mad every time he stepped on the page. He was so damn condescending to Tara because he was older. And I definitely thought he was 50 at first, which was fucking creepy. Then, he fucking tries to constantly tell Nora what to do/how to raise HER child. Like dick no. I don't care if you're the kid's uncle. She has a mother and you can back the FUCK off.

I really enjoyed this especially the friendship between Tara, Alex and Rachel. Can't wait to read Alex's story next and learn more about the Furies.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Nicola R. White. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

I found Fury's Kiss intriguing and enjoyed the mystical aspect of it. Having our main character suddenly display special superpowers starts the book off with a bang, and it slowly unravels the mystery as Tara learns about the fury goddess inside her and her new abilities.

There's a serial rapist terrorizing the New England town of Hawthorne. Tara is a waitress at an upscale restaurant. But she's been stood up. As she waits for her date, she meets a man she thinks is nice enough until things get violent. When Tara fights back, something strange happens. She finds strength she never had before and a weird impulse to suck the rapists breath out of his body. Turns out, Tara isn't just a waitress, she's a superhuman Fury. Now, she has to deal with these new powers whi ...more

I really enjoyed this book, it’s got for me the perfect blend of romance and fantasy. sometimes these reads are over dominated by the romance, and while I enjoy that side I really want a strong paranormal slant to the tale and I got just that here. I look forward to reading more in the series. Furies. an unusual thing to find in the paranormal genre...and yet another

Furies ...
Was on the fence about this one because initially I had trouble connecting with both female and male lead. Not to mention, reading about Furies isn't my norm but I decided to give it a go. I can honestly say that I wasn't disappointed. The storyline is good even if I have/had a problem with the lead characters.

Tara Walker is just a young lady working hard to fulfill some of her dreams. Then an attack by a not too bad looking stranger changes everything in an instant. Now, she must mov

I loved this book! It was so different than what I have been reading but that is what made it awesome! It stood out from the other books because of the fast paced story telling and all of the little bits of information we find out along the way, I loved how the author gave us just enough information to keep us wanting to know more but not so much to where we think we have the whole story all figured out and lose interest. We've all been there to where we get all of our questions answered (inform ...more

Fury's Kiss is the exciting first novel in Nicola R. White's New England Furies Series. This novel follows main character Tara Walker, flanked by best friends Rachel and Alex. This novel gets off to an exciting start when Tara stops at a bar called Spyders, after being stood up on a blind date. Spyder's is usually a busy, upbeat atmosphere, but due to a murder in the area recently, patronage has seriously declined. Apparently, there has been a string of attacks and the media has named the serial ...more

Modern day story that brings Greek mythology to life in a whole new way.

Tara has led a pretty boring life just doing her job and trying to get by day by day as she hopes to one day open and own her own restaurant. But life gets a little more interesting when a Fury wakes up inside her head and starts taking over bent on seeking vengeance from those she has meet who have done wrong. And it gets even more complicated when she is implicated in a murder. If she is going to stay out of the jail cell

Fury's Kiss had some good romance and action. Tara is strong, determined, and stubborn. She is also sharing her body with a mythological being, and this entity wants vengeance.

There were some moments where the story dragged, but overall it was interesting. Jackson and Tara also had some steamy moments that I enjoyed. I'll probably read the next book in the series.

Tara's neighbor Mrs. Hadley was a damn hoot, “and you, young man.” Mrs. Hadley popped back into view and picked up her scolding as though she’d never broken off. “In my day, gentleman callers may have gotten fresh from time to time, but they certainly didn’t disrobe in the backyard. For shame!” She was so entertaining, “Tara, dear,” Mrs. Hadley replied, peering at me over the top of her bifocals, “don’t play dumb . It’s not attractive.” Jackson snorted, then tried to disguise it as a cough when ...more

Tara was just going about her business like any other day when she is viciously attacked, you would think that is what has her traumatized but that is not the case, what has her spooked is what she somehow managed to do to her attacker! I mean how does a little girl like her manage to not only fight him off but kill him in the process. Now she has bigger things to worry about like keeping her butt out of jail. This was interesting, and rather enjoyable. There is a solid start to a series here and I am anxious to watch it grow. We meet Tara first off, and BAM do things go from what you would think would be a slow build to way more very quickly. I don’t want to give much away but there is plenty going on in this story. Thankfully Rachel dumbs down some of it because I am not up on my Greek mythology at all. I for one did see a few of the angles coming because…let’s face it; it just wouldn’t work any oth ...more

Nicola whites wrote an amazing story. I have found myself gravitating towards Greek mythology and fantasy-based stories recently. I don’t know if it’s just the kind of mood but I am really into it right now. Fury’s Kiss is an amazing story. I have never really thought about fury in terms of books before. I have seen a lot of TV shows that have to do with Greek mythology and furious were in them. I think Elizabeth Tebb really brings the story to life. I had some serious issues with this book and try as I might, I have given up on it at a little over 70%.

The characters are just so flat and the writing is so jerky that I feel as if I have whiplash. The dialogue is just awful. It seriously makes me want to pull my hair out.

All in all, this book can be summed up in one sentence :

Excellent ideas, horrible writing and execution.

This is the first time I have read anything from this author. I was surprised that I enjoyed this book, I would classify it as paranormal romance, and that isn’t something I usually enjoy reading. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I give it 4 stars.
