A few hours before our flight, I thought Neo might enjoy this one as well. Maisy is off to see her friend, but must travel on an airplane first. She arrives at the airport, goes through all the security measures, and boards when told she can do so. There, Maisy meets two new friends who are happy to spend their time with her. Some read, others nap, and ever others enjoy the complimentary juice service. In the end, the plane lands and Maisy has survived a lovely trip from A to B. Neo is eager to ...more

My daughter loves travelling by plane so I thought I would reserve this one for her at the library. She also loves Maisy so this was a good book to read together. The book goes through all the stages of airplane travel, some of which my daughter remembers so it brought back happy memories. There were a few inconsistencies but those probably won't be recognised by pre-schoolers. ...more
Join Maisy she experiences her first airplane flight from her departure from one airport to her arrival at her destination.
This “first experiences” book concerning airplane flight will put the young reader at ease. Each step of the flying process is simply explained and beautifully illustrated. Simple text describes each step concerning what occurs along the way. The only concern I have about the book is that one of the pictures shows the overhead bins open during flight and the wheels in the

Lu liked this book. He seemed pleased about the amount of detail that was included. I liked that it let us talk specifics about each step in the plane journey. I had a raised eyebrow about all the "friends" Maisy made on the plane, but sure.

When she goes to visit her friend Ella, Maisy gets to ride an airplane for the first time. Stories about Maisy and her friends are always a delight, with their bright illustration, short stories and humour. A win for both reader and child.

We love the Maisy series. Our dd learns about everyday things and experiences through Maisy’s adventure. Great read for a new reader.

Good way to get remind Ori about what happens when you go to the airport and board a plane. No delays, inclement weather or lost baggage make it a bit unrealistic, but it is fiction.

Perfect book to introduce airplane traveling to preschoolers. Covers everything from arrival at airport, to going through security , to the flight , and finally to picking up your suitcases.

Maisan matkassa tutustumme lentokoneella matkustamiseen. Värikkäät kuvat sopivat mainiosti perheen pienimpien katseltavaksi.

Could be a good one to read to a little one before their first flight.

How exciting! Maisy is going to visit her friend Ella, and she will be taking a plane for the very first time in order to get there. Readers will share Maisy the mouse’s experience as she checks in, finds her seat, and makes new friends onboard the plane. Author Lucy Cousins skillfully includes matter-of-fact information about airplane bathrooms, snacks, and seatbelts. Youngsters who may be taking their first flight will find this story reassuring.

This is a very straight forward book consisting of mainly facts about things that occur when going on a plane. While this book may be lacking in a creative storyline, I feel that it meets a very specific purpose and I am giving five stars for that reason. If you are looking for a book to prepare a child for a plane flight, this book does a great job at sticking to the facts and allowing for discussion with your child about riding on a plane.
Audience: Preschool
Illustrations: Classic Maisy
Plot / Review: While it isn't the most exciting thing ever, reading this with your little would be a really great way to prepare them for their first plane trip. It breaks down the event in simple chunks that kids will like. Also, it's Maisy! Love her!
Read Aloud: Yes, but good for one-on-one too.

It's tough to find decent straightforward what-it's-like-to-fly books for young kids. This is an excellent one. Maisy is another one of those great go-to slice-of-life series. No drama, no moralizing, just life. ...more
