Fandom: Harry Potter Relationship: Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy -------------------------------------------------- "You're dead, Potter... I'm going to make you pay..."
Draco swore his revenge on Harry for Lucius's imprisonment, and Harry all but laughed at him. But Draco is planning more than schoolyard pranks this time. The old rivalry turns deadly when Draco abducts Harry for Voldemort. It's the perfect plan, guaranteeing revenge, power, and prestige, all in one blow. But when Draco's world turns upside down, the fight to save himself and Harry begins, and the battle will take them both through hell and back. If they come back.
The writing was good and I liked how accurate Draco and Harry felt as characters to them in the actual series, but it was way too long and dragged out.
THIS IS ON HERE?! OMG. okay anyways. i read this in december 2020, in 12 hours. i did the math based in the word count and with like 12 point Arial font and it would be a little over 600 pages. I READ THAT BITCH IN 12 HOURS. IT WAS SO GOOD. I CRIED AT LEAST 3 TIMES. PLS OMG.
I adore redeemed!Draco, and getting to watch him make the choices necessary to redeem himself in this fic was just such a lovely experience.
Getting that far, though, felt like a chore. Draco starts out as his typical obnoxious self, and the philosophical discussions that he and Harry have started feeling interminable. Once , though, the action seemed to pick up and the fic was much more enjoyable.
The settings were also all just wonderfully vivid. A couple of scenes were so vivid and so powerful that I'm sure they'll stick with me for a long time.
I'm glad I stuck with this one through those first chapters, because the rest of it was excellent.
Some Favorite Quotes: Every part of him hurt now, even the pieces you couldn't find on any anatomy chart.
"You can't play 'good-cop, bad-cop' when you're only one cop, Malfoy." "What's 'good-cop, bad-cop'?" Draco seemed authentically confused.
Or, on second thought, perhaps his world was still upright and he, himself had been overturned.
So, he resumed his preferred method of dealing with a problem. Complaining about it. Incessantly.
"Why the hell did you bother to learn such a silly transfiguration?" At that, Harry could actually feel himself blushing. "I... er... wanted to learn to pull a rabbit from a hat."
and if complaining made Draco more comfortable, then that was fine with Harry. A scared Draco wasn't something Harry felt he could deal with anyway. An argumentative Draco on the other hand was something familiar; he could handle that.
"I'm a Slytherin, Harry. I may get scared, but I'm never helpless. And I can't leave a call for revenge unanswered. It's a moral imperative."
"And who I was is still part of who I am."
"Besides, you're a boy!" To Harry's amazement, Draco actually preened. "Well, I'm ever so pleased that you noticed."
"My... father--" he choked on the word. "--wanted the best for me. What he saw as the best. And to do that, I needed to be a certain way. So he trained me. And if I'd been better... stronger... I might have lived up to his wishes. Maybe 'better' is the wrong word. More single-minded, perhaps. Maybe if I hadn't let myself be distracted." Draco gave Harry a twisted smile. "You're a damn good distraction, you know that?"
"But Harry... didn't you love them first?"
He hoped desperately that the password hadn't been changed. "Woollywuthers," Harry said flatly. "Not hardly," the Fat Lady replied. "Shit." "That's not it either," she said, sounding even less amused.
Ron thought about it for a moment. "Hermione and I have survived five full years as your friends. I'm sure a couple of weeks won't kill off Malfoy."
"And I knew that Harry had given me something that I'd never had before." Draco took a deep breath. "A choice."
It was really good but I really hoped for some smut which- let's just say there wasn't even kissing until the very last chapter. It was fully focused on a very deep relationship between them and while I did appreciate it...some steamy scenes would have made it better. And the dialogues, especially after they reached Hogwarts could've been better.
ok this is actually the best fanfic i’ve ever read. it’s become a yearly tradition, to every october come back and read it. i’ve just finished my third time :)) amazing and would 100% recommend -josephine
I liked this story quite a lot. It definitely follows a different storyline than canon however as spoiler voldemort wants harry alive for a blood ritual...or something like that. Harry gets captured by death eaters and is imprisoned in Malfoy manner where he meets draco. It was such a slow burn. Usually I like slow burns, but this was a bit too much for me. I was expecting a romantic story going into it (which is what I usually like the most in Drarry fics) and this one wasn't like that for the most part.
I loved the characterizations of Harry and draco. Draco was such an asshole at the beginning, and they were both true to their Canon characters throughout. I loved the last chapter of this fic. Beautiful ending. They ended up falling in love and just wow. If anyone is interested in a shorter version of a similar fic to this try "Behind the green door" by thewickednix. It has a sequel as well. Absolutely loved that story. It's similar to this one, just without the slow burn.

Oh my god. This book pushed me to creating a DNF shelf. I almost NEVER abandon something once I’ve started it but this was so tedious I gave up before anyone left the Malfoy dungeons. So tedious! So many needless POV changes! So overwrought! No story is worth enduring this prose.
WOW. I genuinely can't belive i already finished this fic. It took me a lot time to read it, but i don't regret reading this fic for a single second. I LOVEEE this with my whole heart oml. Author, thank you for writing this. Really. xx
I loved this fic and it was perfect until they got back to Hogwarts. I think that Harry being an asshole to his friends was lame and out of character. But in general that was my only critique 9/10 slow burn sooooooo good.
Awesome story. One hell of a ride. Kept me on toes up to the end. There were time I was frustrated with the development asking: "Why like that? Why can't they do it differently?" But it was all good.
There aren't words to describe how incredible this was. I was completely living within the world for the 4 days it took me to finish it and that is rare. Absolutely obsessed.
I'm not usually a fan of the enemies to lovers trope, but I felt the author did a beautiful job in this instance of crafting the subtle transition throughout the entirety of the story.
This is one of the best books I’ve read this year, I rarely ever give books 5 stars but this story deserves it. I could barely put it down. Will be reading it again some day.
Gisteravond begonnen en gisternacht uitgelezen. Al deze fanfictions beginnen echt amazing en daarna is het echt zwak. Ik moet gaan stoppen met ze lezen want ze zijn mijn tijd echt niet waard.
caught me off guard honestly. didn’t expect to like it this much. i found draco’s change of beliefs so beautiful and well done. loved seeing them save each other over and over again. so many beautiful scenes and lines. i always think about this book. i got so emotional when they both thought each other would die. just so good.

I can't stress how great this was. I didn't want to rate any books but I couldn't resist this one. Eclipse is amazing with its' characters and characterization. You can clearly see the character development. This fanfiction makes you feel and although it took me a while to read it, I loved it. I loved all of it. Mijan is an amazing author and I hope that you will also read the other works that (s)he wrote. It's a book about redemption and paving a path for yourself. It's about saving another, and saving yourself in the process.
Best Drarry fanfic (or any fanfiction, for the matter) I have read since Naadi's "Checkmate" I loved it from start to end. The character development and plot is amazing it left me with tears in my eyes and needing to know what came next.
