What a sleazy book! This is a memoir of the years of the break-up between Mia Farrow and Woody Allen as a result of Woody's affair with Mia's Korean adoptive daughter from an earlier relationship, Soon-Yi Previn, plus the legal and media-feeding-frenzy aftermath, as told by Mia's nanny (who was nanny during the drama but starting after Soon-Yi was already grown up). Unknowingly poised on the edge of melodrama, author Kristi Groteke innocently accepts a job as a nanny for a celebrity couple---Mia Farrow and Woody Allen. Little does she know that within the year, her life will be turned upside down, just as the lives of the famous couple and their children are---set against the backdrop of a seemingly routine life of a family, a furor erupts when Mia discovers that Woody is having an affair with her daughter Soon-Yi. And then,

This book was terribly written by an obvious star fucker. Her claim to have the deepest affection and respect for Mia Farrow rings so disingenuous that the book is laughable the whole way through. It is apparent from page 1 that she was shamelessly caught up in whatever minor celebrity she achieved by association eying a book contract the entire time. Still I enjoyed it.

One dimensional narrative, and almost successfully exposes Allen as a conniving modern day villain. But it's so much fun to take a sneak peek into two of the most celebrated American movie stars of all time.

I read this as a follow-up to Mia Farrow's book, although Groteke wrote hers first. She does not write especially well and much of the information is the same as what is in Mia's book, although there are more shocking details about Woody Allen.
