Fuzz McFlops is one of the most famous rabbit-writers in the land, but ever since his classmates teased him about his lopsided ears at school he's led a lonely life, writing sad stories such as The Withered Carrot. Now he's started receiving some scandalous, outrageous and rather eye-catching letters from one of his fans. Who is she? And why does Fuzz's funny, too-short ea ...more

Fuzz McFlops is a famous rabbit with an ear deficiency, one of his ears is shorter than the other, which has made him an outsider his entire life. His books with titles like 'The Withered Carrot' and 'Unhappy Easter' are very popular and he's receiving a lot of fan mail. Fuzz is living a solitary life and he never opens them. Until one day a beautiful lavender envelope catches his eye. He opens the letter and sees a critique of his work, it's too negative and the writer of the letter has even re ...more

Fuzz McFlops is a famous poet. He's a recluse, a loner, has a deformed ear, an anxiety condition and never reads his fan mail. Until one day, an especially vibrant letter catches his eye and he opens it. The female writer doesn't like the depressing ending of a poem of his and suggests a happy ending for it. He throws it in the garbage. She continues to write him and they become friends with her letters influencing a bit. Enough to make a difference but too much to change who he is, in fact, she ...more

Fuzz McFlops is a really sweet love story about a misfit rabbit poet (Fuzz) and a reader (Charlotte) who feels the need to point out his stories aren’t that cheerful. Her honesty encourages Fuzz to tell her how he feels and helps him grow in confidence. Suddenly his ears that aren’t the same length don’t seem to matter too much. The moral you find in kids books is there but it doesn’t beat you over the head which I thought was a good thing.

A slight downside is this is a translation of a Brazilia

Thank you to Allen and Unwin for providing me a review copy!

I was met, not as I expected by the story of a sardonic bunny who had a difficult childhood and wrote morose and dour poems, which had made him famous, but by the story of a rabbit who had had a difficult childhood and got a fan letter saying, in short, "I am a huge fan of your work. But I think it's better if this poem is changed to this. Isn't it?". Que romance!
For me, it was que disappointment. And I'm not quite sure what message it

Such a cute little book for children about a famous poet/writer rabbit who is different because he has a shorter ear than the other, who is a bit of a recluse. And one day he receives a letter from a fan who sees he's sad and wants to brighten up his day with positivity.

The author is Italian and illustrated the book too with gorgeous illustrations. Beautiful book.

Gosh my daughter and I laughed reading this book. It is EXACTLY my sense of humour - slightly odd, quirky and very funny. And even better, it's a love story. Between rabbits! Strange, and odd-ball rabbits. I could read this a hundred times.

Story would suit some children but too sweet for others. For 6+ but font is too small for beginning readers
