Action...Real MC Life. That is what I felt when I was reading this book. I was thinking, "Is he writing his own death warrant telling this stuff?" Okay, Yes, I know it was fiction, but it felt so REAL.

C.J. wrote this book as if he was writing an auto-biography. You would have thought he was telling his own story, not fictional Jake's.

He went into so much detail. Most novelist leave out such detail unless they ARE writing an auto-biography. But, even with so much detail this book wasn't boring

The Life Of Brotherhood!!!
By TSimons - May 1, 2015
This is a debut book!...Really???? If the Author had not put that in his bio I would not have believed this to be his first book. I.N.C.R.E.D.I.B.L.E!!!
This is an in-depth look at the brotherhood, the author has captured the MC life so accurately this story is intense and brutal, and he gives us a highly charged story. I could not put this book down it’s a page turner and I kept turning the pages until there were no more to go. The story of Jack

WARNING…when starting this book make sure you don’t have anywhere you need to be or anything you need to do because you won’t want to stop reading until you’ve finished it all!! Trust me on this! The book pulls you right in from the very beginning and just keeps going for there. The characters of Jake, Diego, and the others, were genuine and really believable. Definitely not some cliché cardboard cutouts. Almost makes you wonder how much is real or based on real people! I think what I liked the ...more

wow, MC I AM MY BROTHERS KEEPER By C.J. McShane was awesome! I haven’t read anything like that in a long time, if ever. For once it seemed like the characters were anything but the stock, ordinary typical hero/protag guys, but instead all had demons, motivations, secrets, and I thought the MC aspect and all their rules and traditions was pretty cool too. They have a separate code, and it might not be what is usually what society wants, in a way they represent some of the highest ideals: Love, ho ...more

What story of brotherhood!

Jake Coleman helped Diego Santiago one night in an uneven fight. Fate stepped in that night. His life was changed forever. Jake never had much of a family. His best friend was killed in Afghanistan while they preserving in the army. After this night he finds the way of life he was born for. He finds the bond of brotherhood and what it truly means. This is definitely a journey worth taking. This is not a story of romance, though it is there too. Very hot! This is a stor

Yeah, I read this book in one night. Didn’t want to stop reading it until it was over, it was that good! I LOVE the tv show “Sons of Anarchy” but I’ve never actually read a book about an MC… and I admit my expectations were high, and I didn’t expect to like it as much as the show…… so imagine my surprise when I actually liked it better! I thought it seemed less contrived and more down-to-earth (in a crazy, weird way) and showed a lot of the human and emotional side that happens when caught up in ...more

3 1/2 stars! If you like Sons of Anarchy, you will love this book! This book offers a wild ride through the world of a motor cycle club and their way of life. There are plenty of twists and turns along the way that keep you guessing.

I think the voice and tone of the story is right on. The biggest issue I have is with the multiple perspectives. It bothers me when authors switch back and forth between 1st and 3rd person. It just confuses me.

I have read a lot of MC books, far too many than I should probably own up to. All except this one are written by women and many fall into the erotica space. This book is different. Not different in a bad way. This first time author has uses a lifetime of experiences to produce a gritty novel that in some respects is probably more true to life than the nonfiction that has consumed me. It's well written, the story is balanced. At times it may be a little wordy but I liked it. I liked it that much ...more

Oh to say about this book. It was amazing. I was completely gripped from start to finish. This isn't your typical Mc series it's real and compelling from start to finish. Although sex and luv are part of it its more about the brotherhood in an Mc than anything else.
The ending came far to quickly for my liking and I can only hope there is another book soon.
Absolutely a must read.

Read this book in 5 hours, ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!! The Author draws you into a world of chaos, love, and brotherhood which the MC lives by. As you plummet deep into Jakes life, you are held in suspense at the upcoming events that mold Jake into the Brother that he has become. Really looking forward to the next book. Thanks for the great read!

This book is a very easy read and very entertaining with a plot full of twists and turns. The characters are well developed and easy to like, even though they take you on a whirl wind of emotions. It has a surprise ending that leaves you wanting more. A must read!

This only took me so long to read because I left in a car :s oops lol but if I hadn't i wouldn't have been able to put it down!
It was an easy read but in a good way! I am a huge fan of S.O.A and I've read the book written by Sonny Barger of the Hells Angels so I dare to be cheeky and say I know a little bit about the MC lifestyle, this book surprisingly came across with more reality to it. The story felt more relatable, less overdramatised but it sure was packed with the action! It had a sweet

"M.C. I am My Brother’s Keeper” is a compelling read, and one that will definitely appeal to fans of action, crime, & real-life novels. C.J. McShane infuses a unique blend of family (brotherhood), respect, danger, loyalty, humor, action, and shocking twists in this highly readable book about a man who becomes involved with the “Los Patrons Motorcycle Club”. The story itself was fairly even-paced, and the (perfectly edited) narrative flowed well and moved the plot forward nicely, sparing us o ...more

"M.C. I Am My Brother’s Keeper” by CJ McShane is an excellent novel that captured my attention from the beginning and never once let it go. Each scene was riveting, imaginative, and sometimes downright shocking. The descriptions were good and the writing was crisp and clear. There was no lull in the action or pacing…All in all an awesome story that kept me eagerly glued to my kindle night after night. I’ve never read a book about a motorcycle gang before and wasn’t really sure it would be my thi ...more

For this book 5 stars CERTAINLY aren't enough !!!
I was recommended this book by a friend as i'm a huge fan of MC books, and i'm so glad they did recommend it to me !! It was really amazing and insightful too. I think one of the things i enjoyed most about this book is the fact that it's based on real events. It showed the softer/kinder side of the bikers known as 1-%ers too not the side that is predominantly showcased on the news. I was hooked from the start seeing how Jake came to meet the Los

WOW!!!!!! Just about covers it. It is hard to believe that this is this authors first book. This author has some real talent in telling a story. It sucked me in from the first page and I didn't put it down till I reached the last page. Then it left me wanting to know more about all the guys in the MC!!!! That is how caught up in the story you get. This book flows so smoothly...the action...the surprises...the makes you feel like your right there with Jake as he travels the road ...more

I haven't read a book since high school and that was well, quite a long time ago! My wife kept bugging me to read it and so finally I caved. I read this book in two days! It was a fast paced book which was exciting to read. I truly didn't want to put it down. The content was very edgy and there was never a dull moment in the book. I wish that McShane would've helped me get to know more about the characters though. I would've liked to know more about Jake's history but that's my only complaint. I ...more

Reading about Jake and Los Patrons you have a sense of respect for them! They took care of their brothers! What everyone did for little Antonio ohhhh that just melted my heart as well! I'm the beginning I was little iffy on the triangle situation but I'm glad that worked out the way that it did! I need more! I need to know what is going on with everyone!
Good job on your first book Mr. McShane, I enjoyed it!

I read this book in two days because I just could not put it down! This book had so many ups and downs, it kept me surprised the whole way. I both laughed and cried. The author drew me into the life of Jake Coleman and by the time I reached the end of the book, I wanted more. I truly hope that this author writes a sequel! This is a MUST READ!

This was not a typical book for me to read but it came highly recommended. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the newfound knowledge that I have about motorcycle clubs and the lives they lead. Surely enlightened me when the activity in Waco hit the news. The book is well written, easy to read but hard to out down until you finish. I give it a 5 Star!

First, I have to say that I don’t normally read books that are “Motorcycle Fiction”, but I was looking for something a little out of my comfort zone and this book sounded intriguing and had some really great reviews. Well, I am most certainly glad I took the chance on C.J. McShane’s “M.C. I Am My Brother’s Keeper”! This was a brilliant novel and very impressive for a debut!! Jake Colman’s life changes when he crosses paths with the VP of the Los Patrons Motorcycle Club. This sets out a chain of ...more

This was the first book I’ve read by this author, C.J. McShane, but I certainly hope it’s not the last! He has a real knack for writing descriptive and life-like scenes that make us feel like we are really there inside the story, as opposed to it all just being “told” to us, as so many rookie authors make the mistake of doing. I like that this book didn’t feel stale or derivative of something I’ve read before, but instead like a new niche of drama that serves well to help diversify a somewhat co ...more

So this is a debut book?? I honestly don't know where to start! I guess it started when someone posted their top 2015 reads and I saw this book listed. I had never heard of this author and was curious to read it. It feel so real and authentic. This book was well constructed and well written. It is different from any other book I have read and it's one of those books that stays with you, it's one you can't get enough of. "M.C. I am my Brother’s Keeper” by C.J. McShane is by far one of the most original, well-crafted, and best written novels I’ve read in a long time! I can tell that the author not only knows what he is talking about, but he does an excellent way of relating it in an engaging and entertaining way. I was completely drawn in from the get-go, and absolutely loved reading the stories, the good and the bad. The dialogue and scenes were very authentic, and he doesn’t sugar-coat anything. to say this is totally unlike anything I’ve ever read before would be an understatement! I’m not sure how to even describe this book as so much happens, and it seems like the description really can’t do it justice. You just have to read it to see all the crazy and shocking, and touching things that happen. As I was reading, I kept thinking how it all felt and sounded so real (not contrived or like a ‘poser’ –ha) yet it is clearly fiction. I really enjoyed Mr. McShane’s style of writing and found ...more

Holey moley this book was terrific! Once I started reading “M.C. I am My Brother’s Keeper” by C.J. McShane, I didn’t want to stop until I’d finished the whole thing. It pulls you in from the very beginning scene, and I enjoyed the author’s “voice” and style of writing. The interweaving plotlines were well-crafted and not predictable, and the element of being part of a motorcycle gang (MC) was such a cool new experience for me. The characters were all interesting and well-written, and Jake is a g ...more

This book seems to have something of everything… action, danger, drama, romance, sex, drugs, rock-n-roll… haha, and it was an easy read that held on to my attention night after night. I was almost sad when it was over, but the ending was satisfying, if not bittersweet (no spoilers). This is one of those books that stays with you long after you are done reading it, and I admit that even though of course I am aware of motorcycle gangs, I’ve never really given them much thought before, other than w ...more

from the opening pages of “I am my Brother’s Keeper” I knew it would be different from the books I’ve been reading lately and I was right! Mr. McShane sets of the tone, scenes and characterizations in a skillful way that not only pulls us in, but creates great visualizations and elicits emotional investments, even with characters who we’d think might normally be considered ‘bad’, or who have done not good things. I truly cared about the characters’ fates, and was shocked and saddened at
